Abstract

For university students, financial literacy is not merely associated with an understanding of financial products, but also reflects their capacity to assess financial risks when engaging with digital payment services such as PayLater. The increasing adoption of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) platforms among students has raised concerns regarding financial behavior, self-control, and risk management within the digital economy, highlighting the need for empirical investigation in this context. This study employed a quantitative associative approach using purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 100 active undergraduate students in Surakarta who had used Shopee PayLater. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS, supported by validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on students’ interest in using Shopee PayLater. Risk perception also has a positive and significant effect on students’ interest. Simultaneously, financial literacy and risk perception significantly influence students’ interest in using BNPL services. The findings emphasize the importance of improving financial literacy and risk awareness among students to encourage responsible BNPL usage. Sound financial decision-making among young consumers can support sustainable consumption, minimize excessive debt risks, and contribute to financial system stability in the digital economy. This study simultaneously integrates financial literacy and risk perception to explain students’ interest in BNPL services at the city level, particularly in Surakarta. Unlike prior studies focusing on general consumers, this research provides specific empirical evidence from the student segment in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the role of local wisdom of the Dana Mbojo community in climate change mitigation, focusing on the Parafu system (customary land management patterns) and Pamali practices (customary prohibitions related to environmental conservation). The urgency of this research lies in the need for a culturally based approach to strengthen climate change mitigation strategies that have been dominated by technocratic approaches. This study aims to identify and analyze the contribution of the Parafu system and Pamali practices to forest, water, and soil conservation, and assess their relevance in the context of climate change adaptation. The study used mixed methods with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews with 25 traditional and community leaders, field observations in three traditional villages, and the distribution of questionnaires to 150 respondents, which were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the Parafu system contributed to a decrease in deforestation rates by 18.3% in the last five years, while Pamali practices were effective in reducing land burning activities by up to 27.6% compared to non-customary areas (p=0.003). Eighty-four percent of respondents stated that the application of customary values can maintain the balance of local ecosystems, and 76% stated that customary law is more adhered to than formal government regulations. The local wisdom of Dana Mbojo, through the Parafu system and Pamali practices, has great potential for climate change mitigation, particularly through social control mechanisms, value-based conservation, and sustainable spatial use. Integrating local values into climate mitigation policies at the regional and national levels is a strategic step that needs to be implemented immediately.

Abstract

. This study aims to explore the transformation of human resource management in the Web3 era through a bibliometric analysis of global research trends. The research investigates how decentralized technologies, such as blockchain, smart contracts, tokenization, and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO) reshape human resource management practices toward transparency, autonomy, and efficiency. Using a descriptive qualitative approach combined with bibliometric analysis, data were collected from the Scopus database (2020–2025) and analyzed using VOSviewer to map keyword networks, identify clusters, and determine research evolution. The findings reveal four major research clusters focusing on blockchain applications, human resource analytics, organizational transformation, and smart contract implementation. Results indicate a paradigm shift in human resource management from administrative functions to strategic, technology-driven roles emphasizing digital competence and data transparency. Moreover, the study highlights challenges in privacy, data regulation, and digital literacy as critical barriers to Web3 adoption in human resource systems. The research provides conceptual insights and a framework for understanding human resource management digital evolution, offering implications for policymakers and organizations to design adaptive, decentralized, and human-centered human resource management strategies.

Abstract

This research seeks to provide insight into the influence of entrepreneurship education and the family environment on entrepreneurial interest, with self-efficacy as an intermediate variable in students of Universitas Dinamika Bangsa (UNAMA). The research approach used a quantitative method, with data obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to 362 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using SEM techniques with the help of AMOS software to assess the direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results of the study show that entrepreneurship education and the family environment have a positive and significant influence on self-efficacy and entrepreneurial interest. In addition, self-efficacy acts as a mediator that strengthens the influence of these two variables on entrepreneurial interest. These findings confirm that a relevant entrepreneurial learning process and positive family support can foster students' self-confidence, which in turn encourages an increase in interest in entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the influence of CEO power on ESG disclosure in infrastructure companies listed on the Asian Stock Exchange from 2019 to 2023. Globally, the implementation of ESG principles is increasingly considered crucial as a manifestation of a company's commitment to sustainability, in line with the sustainable development goals supported by the G20 countries. CEO PowerCEO duality, including share ownership and dual roles as CEO and chairman of the board of directors, are important factors that can influence a company's strategic decisions. However, this study found that CEO duality significantly influences ESG disclosure in companies. Meanwhile, CEO ownership does not significantly influence ESG disclosure. This suggests that CEO leadership structure does not directly drive increased transparency in ESG disclosure. This study suggests that companies should not rely solely on CEO leadership structure to improve ESG disclosure, but should also consider other factors such as board composition and external regulations. This is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the factors influencing ESG disclosure and how this can support better and more sustainable corporate governance practices.

Abstract

This study examines the impacts of the expansion of Mount Rinjani National Park (TNGR) on land conflicts and local food self-sufficiency among communities living in surrounding buffer zones in Lombok Island, Indonesia. The expansion of conservation areas and the redefinition of zoning regulations have altered local land tenure systems, restricted access to productive and subsistence land, and intensified conflicts between conservation authorities and local communities, particularly smallholder farmers and indigenous groups. This research employs a qualitative case study approach, using in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis involving community members, customary leaders, TNGR officials, local government representatives, and civil society organizations. The findings reveal that land conflicts manifest in multiple forms, including tenurial disputes, horizontal social conflicts, ecological access conflicts, and economic competition related to tourism development. These conflicts have significantly reduced household food production capacity, weakened food diversification, and increased dependence on market-based food systems, thereby undermining local food self-sufficiency. From a political ecology perspective, the study shows that conservation expansion operates as a form of spatial control that reinforces power asymmetries and marginalizes customary land-use systems. The study concludes that effective conflict resolution requires an integrated governance approach that combines formal legal mechanisms with recognition of customary tenure through participatory and collaborative management. Strengthening conservation partnerships, inclusive dialogue, and equitable benefit-sharing mechanisms is essential to reconcile ecological conservation objectives with sustainable livelihoods and long-term food sovereignty of local communities.

Abstract

This study examines how Indonesian female audiences construct cultural proximity toward Boys’ Love (BL) media through transnational exposure rather than local cultural affiliation. Although BL has gained significant popularity in Indonesia through Asian productions, locally produced BL content does not automatically achieve cultural closeness among audiences. This research addresses the gap in cultural proximity studies by questioning the assumption that local media inherently resonates more strongly with local audiences. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving two groups of Indonesian women: fans of Asian BL and non-viewers of BL. Participants were exposed to selected clips of Indonesian BL content and invited to share their interpretations, emotional responses, and evaluations. The data were analyzed thematically with cultural proximity as the primary analytical lens, supported by reception theory. The findings reveal that cultural proximity among BL audiences is shaped more by repeated exposure to transnational BL media, particularly from Thailand and Japan, than by national or cultural similarity. BL fans developed transnational taste standards related to narrative style, emotional tone, and production quality, which influenced their evaluation of Indonesian BL content. In contrast, non-viewers tended to rely on local moral and cultural frameworks when interpreting BL media. This study concludes that cultural proximity in the digital media environment is increasingly transnational and affective, suggesting the need to rethink cultural proximity beyond national boundaries in contemporary audience research.
