Abstract

This study aims to analyse the model of economic empowerment through the entrepreneurship program at Dayah Nurul Huda, as well as to examine its challenges, supporting factors, and development strategies within the context of modern Islamic boarding school education. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Data were analysed thematically to identify patterns of meaning emerging from entrepreneurial practices within the dayah. The findings reveal that the entrepreneurship program at Dayah Nurul Huda integrates Islamic values such as ikhtiar (effort), amanah (trustworthiness), and barakah (divine blessing) with modern management principles based on competence and collaboration. This model gives rise to the concept of “spirituality-based entrepreneurship”, which harmonizes economic orientation with the cultivation of religious character. The main challenges identified include limited financial resources, insufficient entrepreneurship training for teachers (ustaz), and traditional management practices. Meanwhile, significant support stems from collaboration among the dayah, local government, universities, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which collectively expand business networks and strengthen institutional capacity. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for enhancing the economic self-reliance of Islamic boarding schools and for developing an Islamic entrepreneurship curriculum that remains relevant to contemporary challenges.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the importance of strengthening students’ character through the integration of Islamic values and local culture within the madrasah environment. At MIN 1 Kota Lhokseumawe, the synergy between Islamic principles and Acehnese cultural values serves as a strategic foundation for realizing holistic and context-based character education. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the principal, extracurricular supervisors, and students. Data were analyzed through three main stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validation conducted through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that the integration of Islamic values and local culture at MIN 1 Kota Lhokseumawe is implemented through four systematic stages: (1) formulation of school policies emphasizing an Islamic character vision and local wisdom; (2) implementation of instructional and extracurricular activities based on Islamic values; (3) internalization of values through social practices, worship, and cultural activities; and (4) continuous evaluation conducted by teachers and the school administration. The model of integrating Islamic and local cultural values has been proven to strengthen students’ holistic character formation, fostering a balance between ḥablum minallāh (relationship with God) and ḥablum minannās (relationship with others). The study also recommends the development of a digital system for documenting and evaluating character-building activities to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of Islamic values implementation in madrasah education.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of student administration and management at MIN 1 Lhokseumawe, aiming to formulate a character-based and inclusive management model within Islamic education. Administration operates at the policy and strategic planning level, including the formulation of regulations, record-keeping, and oversight of student-related policies. Meanwhile, management focuses on operational implementation, such as student admission (PPDB), character development, counseling services, and personal growth activities. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, using interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed following the Miles et al. model through data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation of sources and methods to ensure validity. The findings reveal that the integration of administration and management at the madrasah is realized using the EMIS system, regular evaluative meetings, and collaborative leadership between teachers and school administrators. The application of Islamic values such as syūrā (consultation), amānah (trustworthiness), and iḥsān (excellence) serves as the moral foundation of the entire management process. The resulting model can be categorized as collaborative and data-driven management, integrating administrative policy direction with adaptive and reflective managerial practices. This synergy creates an accountable, participatory, and character-oriented student management system aligned with the spirit of modern Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the forms and strategies of integrating climate change education into the curriculum and school culture at SMA Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe, as well as to assess its impact on students’ environmental literacy and character development. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on an in-depth understanding of the practices of integrating climate change education within the school setting. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, classroom observations, document analysis of school policies and teaching modules, and questionnaires distributed to students. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while validation was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that the integration of climate change education at SMA Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe is systematically implemented through project-based interdisciplinary learning, the strengthening of an environmentally friendly school culture, and teacher capacity enhancement through global collaboration. The Green School Project (GSP) serves as a key catalyst in fostering students’ ecological awareness and sustainable behavior. This study concludes that synergy among curriculum, school culture, and instructional leadership is the critical factor driving the success of the climate change education model. The study recommends the development of adaptive curriculum guidelines tailored to local environmental issues and teacher training programs focused on sustainability pedagogy to enhance the implementation of climate-conscious education in schools.

Abstract

One of the key terms used in the Qur’an and Hadith to describe human beings is al-Insān, which reflects the spiritual, intellectual, and moral potential that can be developed through education. This study aims to explore in depth the meaning and characteristics of al-Insān as portrayed in the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and to examine its implications for curriculum design and learning strategies in Islamic education. The research employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. Primary data were obtained from Hadiths relevant to the concept of humanity and education, while secondary data were drawn from scholarly literature discussing Islamic educational philosophy, prophetic values, and theories of human potential development. The analysis was conducted through descriptive, textual, and reflective approaches to interpret the meaning and educational relevance of al-Insān. The findings reveal that al-Insān in Hadith is depicted as a being endowed with intellect, soul, heart, and moral responsibility, functioning both as a servant of God and a steward on earth. Prophetic values such as honesty, commitment, and compassion form the core of character development in learners. The concept of al-Insān al-Kāmil—the perfected human—emerges as the ultimate goal of Islamic education, necessitating a value-based curriculum and balanced learning strategies that foster both spiritual and intellectual dimensions. Thus, the concept of al-Insān in the Hadith provides a strong conceptual foundation for Islamic education, aiming to cultivate individuals who are faithful, knowledgeable, and morally upright.
