Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of ontology, epistemology, and axiology in the leadership of the Sector Police Chief (Kapolsek) regarding law enforcement practices at the Jelutung Sector Police in Jambi City. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with leadership and police personnel involved in law enforcement, observations of leadership practices and police services, and an analysis of documents related to police duties at the Jelutung Sector Police. Data analysis utilized the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results indicate that the ontological dimension is reflected in the Sector Police Chief's understanding of the essence of police duties: acting as protectors, guardians, and servants of the community, as well as law enforcers. The epistemological dimension is manifested through decision-making based on facts, verified information, evidence, legal procedures, and analysis of field situations. Meanwhile, the axiological dimension is reflected in a leadership orientation that prioritizes justice, utility, legal certainty, professionalism, integrity, and humane public service. The integration of these three dimensions shapes a leadership style that is more objective, responsive, accountable, and oriented toward just law enforcement. This study reinforces the application of the philosophy of science perspective within the study of police leadership and law enforcement practices at the sector police level.

Abstract

Openness of information is demonstrated in information services that minimize disputes over public information and adapt to new media by involving public participation. The implementation of KIP by government agencies needs to be assessed or measured and analyzed based on evidence. Public information disclosure is a fundamental element of transparent, accountable, and participatory governance, particularly in the context of digital transformation and open government. This study aims to measure and analyze the Public Information Disclosure Index (IKIP) in Majalengka Regency and to provide an in-depth explanation of the factors underlying its measurement results. The study employed a mixed- methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, integrating quantitative and qualitative methods in two consecutive stages. The quantitative stage involved 100 respondents, with data collected through structured questionnaires designed to measure the dimensions and indicators of public information disclosure. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and index measurement to determine the level and characteristics of IKIP. Subsequently, qualitative data were collected through interviews and observations to explain, deepen, and validate the quantitative findings. The qualitative data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings provide an empirical assessment of public information disclosure and identify aspects that support or constrain the quality of information openness in Majalengka Regency. The novelty of this study lies in integrating IKIP measurement with explanatory qualitative analysis, thereby moving beyond numerical index assessment to provide contextual evidence regarding the conditions underlying the resulting scores. This approach contributes to the development of a more comprehensive framework for evaluating public information disclosure and provides practical evidence for local governments to strengthen transparency, accountability, digital information governance, and public participation. The aim is to determine the clear value of IKIP accompanied by evidence-based explanations. The results of the study show that the Public Information Disclosure Index (IKIP) value of 86.3 is in the B quality category, which is good. This is supported by evidence of the Majalengka Regency Government's actions in public information disclosure, which show open governance, new media, and community participation

Abstract

The emergence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has fundamentally reconfigured the landscape of human communication, shifting the paradigm from Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) to Human-Machine Communication (HMC), wherein machines are no longer merely passive channels but autonomous communicative agents. This research aims to map the conceptualizations, theoretical dynamics, and socio-ethical implications of GenAI in human-AI communication through a systematic literature review. Adhering to the PRISMA 2020 protocol, 75 high-reputation articles (77.3% SJR Q1) published between 2020 and 2026 were synthesized from an initial dataset of 460 articles. The findings identify eight thematic clusters: (1) anthropomorphism and trust (28%), (2) mental health (14.7%), (3) public governance (13.3%), (4) co-creation (10.7%), (5) LLM/ChatGPT (10.7%), (6) education (8%), (7) ethics and regulation (8%), and (8) public communication (6.7%). This study proposes a Four-Dimensional Integrative Conceptual Framework (Ontological-Agency, Psycho-Social, Epistemic-Democratic, and Governance-Ethical) and confirms five analytical propositions, including the "Generative Paradox" and the "Dual Attributional Mechanism" regarding anthropomorphism. The study recommends a future research agenda that encompasses longitudinal studies, the decolonization of Global South perspectives, the measurement of epistemic security, and investigations into long-term cognitive impacts.

Abstract

This study examines the coach's communication style in shaping athletes' achievement motivation at Al Barkah Pencak Silat Club. The study aims to understand how the coach's communication style during the coaching process contributes to developing athletes' achievement motivation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The participants consisted of the head coach as the key informant and several athletes as supporting informants selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The study adopted Stewart L. Tubbs and Sylvia Moss's communication style concept, consisting of Controlling Style, Equalitarian Style, Structuring Style, Dynamic Style, Relinquishing Style, and Withdrawal Style. The results of the study show that coaches employ a flexible communication style dominated by the Equalitarian Style and supported by the Structuring Style, the Dynamic Style, and the Controlling Style, all of which are tailored to the athletes’ characteristics and needs. These communication styles are applied through the delivery of training instructions, evaluations, the instillation of discipline, the development of mental strength and self-confidence, and the provision of motivation, thereby fostering the athletes’ motivation to excel throughout the training process. Thus, the success of athlete development at the Al Barkah Pencak Silat Club is influenced not only by the training program but also by the effectiveness of the coaches’ communication styles in building positive relationships with the athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze differences in work culture value orientations between Sweden and Japan, focusing on work-life balance practices in Sweden and overtime work culture in Japan as the basis for comparison. A qualitative descriptive approach utilizing a literature review method was employed. Data were gathered through an examination of books, scholarly journal articles, and various academic sources relevant to work culture, social values, worker well-being, and the dynamics between professional and personal life. The collected literature was analyzed comparatively to identify the characteristics and consequences of each work culture orientation. The findings indicate that the work environment in Sweden is shaped by the principle of *lagom*, egalitarianism, and flexible work arrangements, which allow greater scope for life outside of work. Conversely, Japanese work culture is characterized by a strong emphasis on organizational loyalty, seniority-based hierarchies, and dedication to the job, factors that foster practices involving long working hours and overtime. These differences impact how workers manage personal time, well-being, mental health, social life, and productivity. The study demonstrates that cultural values are a key factor in shaping how societies perceive the relationship between work and personal life. Therefore, the development of sustainable work systems must take into account both productivity and the well-being needs of workers.
