E-commerce transactions, often referred to as online buying and selling, are transactions conducted by sellers and buyers over the Internet, where sellers and buyers do not meet in person. Therefore, ethics is needed in the practice of online buying and selling, ethics is a branch of philosophy that teaches ideas of good and bad, positive and negative. The type of writing in this article is a library research study using qualitative methods aimed at discussing several themes about how online buying and selling in Islamic economic business, the relationship between ethics and the branch of philosophy, the philosophical approach to Islamic business ethics from an axiological perspective, as well as the perspective of business ethics and its practice in the use of e-commerce. In this article, it can be concluded that the trend of e-commerce usage has not fully implemented Islamic business ethics, as in practice there are still shortcomings such as fraud that results in losses for one party. However, on the other hand, e-commerce always strives to apply the business ethics taught by the Prophet Muhammad SAW by avoiding practices of riba, gharar, maisir, and other harmful activities. The English athmosphere is also purposely created in order to make the student get used to using English in their daily routine. This current study aims to investigate how English dormitories of Sunan Drajat Islamic boarding school improve the students’ English skill by means of qualitative approach as research methodology. From the research conducted around a month, it was known that the functionaries of English dormitories implement various interesting teaching methods such as singing a song and game to improve students’ bank of vocabularies. Besides, each English dormitory also provides vocabulary board which has the contents of any kinds of English vocabularies on Monday and some English expressions or idioms on Thursday. All English vocabularies and expressions in a week are examined by dorm’s functionaries every Friday morning. The dorm’s functionaries would give any points as punishment for whoever that can not memorize the English vocabularies completely. Finally, the further research in other settings and periods are needed to do in the future to enrich the result of study.

Therefore, effective teaching methods are needed so that Islamic literacy can develop optimally. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that the Arabic teaching strategy at the Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School includes the qawā'id wa tarjamah (rule-based translation) method, muhādatsah (active conversation), tahfiz mufradat (vocabulary strengthening), and dirāsah al-kutub (study of classical books). In addition, technology-based approaches are beginning to be applied through the use of digital media in learning. The results of this study show that the strategy applied is able to improve the ability of students to understand Islamic texts in Arabic. However, there are still challenges in terms of variety of methods and more optimal use of technology.

Abstract

The Hadith of the Prophet is both the basis and the second reference for Muslims, after the Qur'an. In contrast to the Quran which is textually-editorially believed to be true of Allah, this is not the case with hadith. Only the hadiths that are mutawatir are truly believed to be certainty from the Prophet, and this is also a small number. Meanwhile, other Hadiths, which are not mutawatir, which are much larger in number, still need to be studied and researched whether they are really from the Prophet or not. It is in this context that the study of criticism of the Hadith is important. If the substance of the Qur'an lies in the text or its editors alone, then in the Hadith the substance lies in the text or editor (matan) and the series of people who proclaim the text or editorial (sanad). Hadith scholars have made rules to judge a Hadith shahih (authentic) or not. On sanad for example: sanadnya must be continued, periwayat is fair, strong rote memorization, no gaffe (syadz), and no defect (illat). Whereas in matan for example: not contradicting the Quran, not contradicting other stronger Hadiths, not contradicting common sense, and historical facts. Those are the methodological steps to determine the authenticity of a Hadith. In addition, the hermeneutics approach can also be used to study hadith, as a perfection of the classical model of Hadith studies.

Abstract

Vocabulary is a fundamental component of English language learning, supporting the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. However, many students struggle to acquire new vocabulary in a meaningful and enjoyable way. One engaging method to support vocabulary acquisition is through the use of English Islamic songs in the classroom. This study applied a qualitative classroom-based approach involving English Islamic songs as a learning medium. Students were exposed to selected Islamic-themed songs during structured listening and singing sessions. Activities were designed to highlight new vocabulary, rhythm, and grammatical patterns. Observations and student feedback were used to assess engagement and learning outcomes. The results indicated that students showed increased enthusiasm and focus during lessons. Repeated exposure to song lyrics allowed students to naturally memorize vocabulary and sentence patterns. Even students with limited comprehension were able to recall key phrases and words through consistent listening and participation. The familiar themes and simple language in Islamic songs made learning more relatable and less intimidating. The findings suggest that integrating Islamic songs into English teaching can be an effective tool to enhance vocabulary learning, especially in Islamic school settings. However, teachers must select songs carefully and design varied, interactive activities to ensure pedagogical effectiveness. While songs are not a replacement for formal instruction, they serve as a powerful supplement that can boost student motivation, vocabulary retention, and overall engagement.

Abstract

This article examines the genealogy of radicalism in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) by tracing the historical, theological, and sociological factors that have the potential to give rise to the seeds of Islamic radicalism in Indonesia. As traditional Islamic educational institutions, pesantren play a strategic role in shaping the character and thinking of their students (santri). However, global dynamics, the infiltration of transnational ideologies, and rigid interpretations of religious texts can open up space for the influx of radical ideologies. This research uses a qualitative approach with critical discourse analysis, mapping the development of radicalism discourse from the colonial era, the New Order, and the reform era. The findings indicate that although the majority of pesantren espouse moderate Islam based on Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah, a small number are vulnerable to becoming fertile ground for radical ideology due to factors such as curriculum, alumni networks, and global political and economic relations. This article emphasizes the importance of strengthening religious moderation, monitoring transnational ideological flows, and revitalizing the role of pesantren as bastions of Islam rahmatan lil 'alamin (blessing for all the worlds).

Abstract

The shift in values in the practice of customary inheritance law in Indonesia is an inevitable phenomenon along with social, economic, and cultural developments in multicultural societies. Customary inheritance law, which was initially based on the principles of kinship, deliberation, and social balance, now faces challenges due to the entry of modern values, national law, and religious influences. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of these value shifts, the factors that drive change, and their implications for the social order of indigenous peoples. The research method used is a juridical-sociological approach with literature study. The results of the study show that the shift in the value of customary inheritance law is more influenced by modernization, urbanization, and awareness of gender equality. This shift has a positive impact in the form of growing the value of justice and the protection of women's rights, but it also has negative impacts such as weakening social cohesion and the fading of cultural identity. Thus, a strategy of reconstruction of customary inheritance law that is adaptive to the development of the times, without eliminating the values of local wisdom that are the main foundation of customary law.
