Abstract

Persuasive communication is very important in shaping awareness, attitudes, and behavior, especially in the development of Islamic communities. In Kendal Regency, socio-religious life is influenced not only by culture and tradition, but also by legal regulations that govern social order. This study aims to analyze how persuasive communication from a legal perspective contributes to the sustainable empowerment of Islamic communities. Using a qualitative approach, data was obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that the integration of legal values and Islamic principles strengthens social participation, increases legal awareness, and encourages the formation of an independent and empowered society. This study offers an integrative conceptual model between persuasive communication and legal legitimacy as a humanistic, adaptive, and relevant da'wah strategy in the context of Islamic society at the local level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Barokah Kesambi tofu industry in Dukuh Kesambi, Pundenrejo Village, Tayu District, Pati Regency, in fostering community economic development and the resulting social dynamics. Using a field research approach with participant observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation, the findings reveal that the tofu industry significantly contributes to local economic growth through job creation, skill development, and the strengthening of social solidarity. The industry fosters social integration, workers’ adaptation to economic changes, and the transmission of work values that reinforce community cohesion. However, social stratification remains evident due to unequal access to resources between owners and workers. Therefore, participatory empowerment programs, human resource development, and economic diversification are essential to reduce inequality and promote sustainable local development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media influencers on the formation of tolerance among Generation Z. The increasing role of influencers in shaping public opinion, including on religious issues, makes this research relevant in the context of religious moderation in the digital era. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews with 10 informants born in the 2000s who actively use social media. The results indicate that influencers have both positive and negative influences on religious tolerance among Generation Z. Moderate influencers, through their use of humanistic, educational, and dialogical narratives, foster openness, inclusiveness, and respect for differences among their followers. Conversely, provocative influencers, through their emotional, confrontational, and exclusive content, actually reinforce the polarization of religious identities. However, the greatest influence is determined by the digital maturity of the audience and the ability of Generation Z social media users to critically analyze information.

Abstract

The LDNU responds to the challenges posed by Semarang’s heterogeneous and dynamic urban society through its da’wah approach and its role in helping to internalize Islamic values within the community. This study aims to analyze the da’wah patterns and the role of the Nahdlatul Ulama Da’wah Institute (LDNU) in internalizing Islamic values within the community of Semarang City. The research method employs a descriptive qualitative approach using library research techniques, involving the collection of data from scientific journals, books, and official documents analyzed thematically. The results of the study indicate that LDNU implements four primary patterns of da’wah: the inclusive pattern, the cultural and traditional pattern, the structural and institutional pattern, and the digital pattern. These are effective in strengthening religious values, enhancing spiritual awareness, and maintaining social harmony in urban communities. Consequently, LDNU plays a crucial role in shaping a religious, tolerant, and morally upright society. In conclusion, LDNU holds a strong position as a driving force for Islamic da’wah in the internalization of Islamic values amidst the dynamics of modern life in the city of Semarang.

Abstract

This study explores how cultural da’wah is practiced within the coastal communities of Natal Subdistrict, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra, and how it contributes to preserving local traditions amid the tide of modernization. The main purpose of this research is to understand the forms and strategies of cultural da’wah developed in coastal societies and to examine its influence on the social and religious life of local people. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using field study methods, including interviews, observations, and documentation involving religious leaders, traditional figures, and fishing communities. The findings reveal that cultural da’wah in coastal areas is carried out through persuasive and adaptive approaches that integrate local culture—such as religious activities based on local traditions and the use of regional languages in delivering religious messages. This approach has proven effective in strengthening religious understanding while preserving the community’s cultural values, showing that da’wah serves not only as a means of spreading Islamic teachings but also as a medium for maintaining social identity in the face of modernization.

Abstract

Global humanitarian dynamics are at a nadir due to a surge in aid requirements disproportionate to budget availability and the erosion of integrity ecosystems. This research analyzes Kuntoro Mangkusubroto's leadership model at BRR NAD-Nias (2005-2009) as a transformative solution to the risks of corruption and politicization of disaster aid. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method with a prominent figure study approach and thematic analysis, data were collected through audiovisual digital documentation and academic literature. The results show that integrating spiritual values (adl, rahma, khalifah) into authentic leadership pillars creates a robust moral defense mechanism. The political shield and no-cash policy strategies effectively mitigated state capture corruption. Furthermore, GIS/GPS-based lifecycle auditing technology transformed accountability into comprehensive transparency that maintains international trust. These findings prove that technocratic effectiveness must be accompanied by a public ethics of care to restore the dignity of survivors and foster community empowerment based on social resilience, cultural legitimacy, and sustainable livelihoods. The implication suggests a necessary transformation in disaster governance through institutionalizing real-time technological audits and institutional independence, alongside the integration of authentic leadership values into educational curricula to produce future leaders possessing “integrity DNA” and adaptive resilience toward future crises.

Abstract

Community interactions within the buffer zone of the KGPAA Mangkunagoro I Grand Forest Park (TAHURA) reflect deep interdependence between forest ecosystems and local livelihoods. Grounded in the ecosystem services framework, this study aims to map forest resource governance in Wonorejo Village, Jatiyoso Sub-district, Karanganyar Regency, which has undergone a land-use transition from Perhutani to TAHURA jurisdiction. Using a Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach, data were collected through Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) techniques—including seasonal calendars, trend-and-change analysis, social mapping, and daily expenditure surveys. Results indicate that the forest's primary environmental services encompass freshwater provision, landscape-based tourism, and carbon sequestration, with an estimated total economic value of Rp 540,620,000 per year. Key challenges identified include declining spring water discharge due to inadequate conservation measures, reduced agricultural productivity, and underdeveloped tourism governance. Stakeholder analysis reveals that effective multi-actor collaboration spanning TAHURA management, community groups (LMDH, P3A, POKDARWIS), and local government is essential for sustainable natural resource management. These findings underscore the need for an integrated approach that reconciles ecological conservation with community economic well-being.

Abstract

The Productive Economic Enterprise Program (UEP) is an economic empowerment initiative designed to improve the welfare of low-income productive communities through household-based business development. In practice, its local implementation still faces challenges such as limited technical assistance, business sustainability, and market access. This study evaluates the effectiveness of UEP implementation in Banda Aceh City using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product). A qualitative evaluative approach was employed, with data collected through purposive interviews with 8 informants 2 Dinas Sosial staff, 2 TKSK officers, and 4 program beneficiaries supplemented by observation and documentation. Findings indicate that the program is contextually relevant to the needs of low-income communities; its input is supported by adequate policy foundations and organizational structures, although technical mentoring remains limited. The implementation process followed established procedures, while the product aspect demonstrated positive outcomes including increased household income, growth of productive micro-enterprises, and improved beneficiary independence. Comparative data across 2022–2024 show a decline in beneficiary numbers (22 → 12 → 6), suggesting a tightening of targeting criteria. Key challenges remain in product marketing and continuity of mentoring. Strengthening sustained assistance and developing a gampong-based empowerment ecosystem are critical to enhancing program sustainability.

Abstract

This study examines the trend of sound horeg usage in cultural parades within the community of Pati Regency as a manifestation of shifting traditions and an emerging trigger of social conflict. Initially serving as a supporting entertainment medium in community celebrations, sound horeg has increasingly dominated cultural parades, leading to the marginalization of traditional arts and the erosion of local cultural values. This phenomenon has transformed cultural parades from spaces of cultural preservation into arenas of modern entertainment and social prestige, which in turn generates social tensions related to noise disturbance, public order, and differing perspectives on cultural authenticity. This research employs a qualitative field research method through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach grounded in Koentjaraningrat’s cultural theory and Karl Marx’s social conflict theory. The findings indicate that while sound horeg contributes to local economic activity and youth expression, it simultaneously intensifies social conflict and accelerates the shift away from traditional cultural meanings. Therefore, balanced cultural management is required to minimize conflict without eliminating local cultural values.
