Abstract

Effect of Method SAS (Structural Analysis Synthesis) Toward Improved Reading Skills Starts in Class II SDN Mappala Rappocini District of Makassar. The problem in this research is still low ability students in beginning reading skills. The formulation of the problem is whether there are significant structural synthesis method of analysis (SAS) to increase reading skills at the beginning of second grade students of SDN Mappala Rappocini District of Makassar City ?. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of structural synthesis method of analysis (SAS) to increase reading skills at the beginning of second grade students of SDN Mappala Rappocini District of the city of Makassar in the learning process. The approach used in this study is quantitative type of research is experimental, with Pre Test stage, treatment, and post test. The study design used is pre experimental design which is a form of research design one group Pre Test posttest design. The population and the sample was grade II SDN Mappala Rappocini District of the city of Makassar with enrollment of 30 students. Data collection techniques used is a test, documentation and observation. Data analysis technique used is the analysis of descriptive statistics, normality test, the hypothesis (t-test), and paired sample t-test. Early reading skills after giving treatment using SAS increases more than before the administration method of SAS in the learning process. After testing the hypothesis by using t-test showed that there were significant differences between the skills students memnaca starters. In conclusion SAS method provides a positive influence on students' reading skills at the beginning of class II.

Abstract

Tunagrahita are children who need a special treatments with IQ score between 50-70. Abnormalities of tunagrahita children is like spastic, autism, hyperactivity or learning difficulties. Culture introduction in the early age also has huge urgency especially for tunagrahita children. This thing is suppose to introduce the national identity and local culture from in herited long time ago. Base on that, the playing program with cultural learning has applied in SDLBN Balikpapan Selatan with some methods which are included program introduction, program appliment and evaluation. During the program held, tunagrahita students so hyperactive and low comprehension of each children but with the appliment of this program which apply learning by playing, the volunteer is capable to make the students follow this program with more enthusiast and brave to show their capability. In the end of this program (the final simulation) all parents are invited to join the program so there are social interactions has built between parents and their children. This program is able to be one of the activity which can be applied in any other school because the appliment of the learning methods is communicative and fun for tunagrahita students in order to introduce the local culture of Indonesia.

Abstract

Salah satu kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan minat baca adalah membudayakan kegiatan literasi dikalangan anak-anak. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah menyediakan sarana dan prasarana literasi anak. Beberapa komunitas di masyarakat di Kota Padang sudah mencanangkan budaya literasi, diantaranya Komunitas Tanah Ombak dan Komunitas Lentera Kuning. Komunitas Tanah Ombak sebagai mitra 1 dan Komunitas Lentera Kuning sebagai mitra 2 sudah mencangkan budaya literasi dengan menyediakan sarana perpustakaan. Buku-buku diperpustkaan banyak dibaca anak-anak, tetapi kegiatan membaca tersebut hanya untuk bermain. Kegiatan membaca akan lebih bermakna jika dikaitkan dengan pengetahuan sehingga dapat menunjang kemampuan akademik anak-anak Tanah Ombak dan Lentera Kuning. Metode yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra dilakukan dengan pembinaan kegiatan membaca yang bermakna dengan menerapkan strategi Cognitive Academic Language Learning Approach (CALLA). Hasil dari kegiatan tersebut cukup baik, yaitu adanya peningkatan rata-rata kemampuan membaca pemahaman dari sebelum dan sesudah dilaksanakan kegiatan literasi dengan Strategi CALLA.
