Abstract

This study aims to analyze the planning of a local content curriculum based on ecology at SMP Ekologi Kahuripan Padjajaran, as well as its integration with Pancawaluya Character Education, the Adiwiyata program, and edukotourism. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, involving interviews, observations, and documentation as the main instruments. Data were analyzed thematically to describe the planning process, implementation, and the strengthening of students’ character and ecological awareness. The results indicate that the curriculum utilizes the school’s environmental and cultural potential, making the learning materials contextual and practical. The learning modules are combined with hands-on activities and field projects, enabling students to internalize ecological principles and develop social skills. Pancawaluya Character Education is implemented to foster wisdom, discipline, social care, ecological responsibility, and student cooperation. The Adiwiyata program and edukotourism support direct learning experiences, enhance ecological understanding, and increase student participation. These findings emphasize that the integration of local content, character education, and field practices creates a holistic, practical, and contextually relevant learning experience.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the need for vocational schools to produce graduates who possess technical competencies and work readiness aligned with the demands of the industrial sector. The study aims to analyze the implementation of professional teacher competency standards in improving graduate quality at SMKS Putra Gunung Halu. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to explore teachers’ professional practices and graduates’ perceptions of learning quality. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research focused on subject-matter mastery, variations in instructional strategies, evaluation mechanisms, and teacher professional development. The findings indicate that teachers are able to integrate subject mastery with industrial contexts, apply instructional strategies that encourage student participation, and provide evaluations and feedback that support the improvement of students’ competencies. Professional development through training programs, teacher working groups (MGMP), and certification further strengthens the implementation of professional competencies in the school. Alumni perspectives confirm that the technical skills and work readiness they acquired were shaped through the instructional practices implemented by teachers. The study concludes that the implementation of professional teacher competency standards makes a tangible contribution to strengthening graduate quality and the effectiveness of the learning process; therefore, schools are encouraged to develop sustainable teacher competency enhancement programs to ensure that graduate quality remains relevant to workforce demands.

Abstract

Technological advancements require educators to be able to utilize innovative learning media that are engaging, interactive, and enjoyable for students. One technology with strong potential to support learning is Augmented Reality (AR). This study aims to develop an AR–based learning medium for the Hajj and Umrah material and to examine students’ responses to its use at MI Muhammadiyah Limbangan Purbalingga. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data analysis techniques were conducted using descriptive quantitative methods to process student response questionnaires and descriptive qualitative methods to interpret feedback obtained during the development process. The results indicate that the developed AR–based learning media are able to provide a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience and increase student engagement in learning the Hajj and Umrah material. Student responses to the use of this media fall into the very attractive category. Therefore, AR–based learning media are feasible to be used as an alternative innovation in teaching Hajj and Umrah at the madrasah ibtidaiyah level.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes in mathematics, particularly on fraction material, through the use of fraction puzzle media among Grade IVA students at SDI Maumere. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a Classroom Action Research design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 25 Grade IVA students of SDI Maumere. Data were collected through learning achievement tests and observation sheets assessing students’ attitudes and skills. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by calculating the mean scores and the percentage of classical learning mastery in each cycle. The results showed an improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the fraction puzzle media. The average score increased from 63.32 in the pre-cycle with 44% classical mastery to 82.24 in Cycle I with 76% mastery, and further increased to 91 in Cycle II with classical mastery reaching 92%. The improvement was observed not only in the cognitive aspect but also in students’ attitudes and skills during the learning process. These findings confirm that fraction puzzle media can be effectively used to support students’ understanding of fraction concepts and to enhance mathematics learning outcomes at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The development of modern scientific methodology reveals a growing tendency toward partial approaches that separate data exploration, causal analysis, and empirical verification, which may lead to epistemological reductionism in research practices. This study aims to reconstruct the scientific paradigm through a synthesis of Francis Bacon’s inductivism, John Stuart Mill’s causal logic, and Auguste Comte’s positivism as an integrative methodological framework. This research employs a library research method by examining primary works of Bacon, Mill, and Comte, as well as relevant journal articles published within the last five years. Data analysis is conducted using a comparative approach to assess the functions, strengths, and limitations of each paradigm. The findings indicate that Bacon’s inductivism plays a crucial role in the exploratory stage and empirical pattern identification, Mill’s causal logic functions as an inferential mechanism for explaining cause– effect relationships, and Comte’s positivism contributes to verification and scientific legitimacy. The discussion affirms that the integration of these three approaches forms a sequential methodological framework that is more adaptive to the complexity of contemporary research. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of methodological synthesis as a foundation for the development of modern epistemology and as a reference for constructing comprehensive and reflective interdisciplinary research frameworks.

Abstract

This study examines the role of heuristics in developing the framework of modern scientific knowledge through a library research method utilizing twenty journal articles published within the last decade. The central question addressed concerns how heuristics function as both cognitive and methodological mechanisms shaping reasoning patterns, theory construction, and scientific problem-solving. This study employs a library research approach by systematically reviewing relevant scientific articles through structured processes of searching, screening, and examining indexed academic literature. The data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic synthesis to identify key concepts, thematic trends, and the relationships among arguments presented across the selected studies. The findings reveal that heuristics operate not merely as simplification strategies but as epistemological foundations enabling the emergence of new conceptual models, theoretical revisions, and scientific innovation. Principles such as analogy, abstraction, concept mapping, and pattern-based reasoning contribute significantly to research efficiency and strengthen the validity of scientific inference. The study concludes that the modern scientific knowledge framework is inherently adaptive and evolves through continuous heuristic processes. Its implications include reinforcing the theoretical basis of modern epistemology, enhancing heuristic integration within methodological design, and emphasizing the need to incorporate heuristic competencies in education and future research development.

Abstract

Collaboration skills are one of the essential 21st-century skills that students must master to face future challenges. In reality, low levels of collaboration skills and fundamental issues related to the collaborative abilities of fifth-grade students are still found in learning. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) model with multimedia in improving the collaboration skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Karangtanjung. This research employed a collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach. The findings indicate that the integration of the STAD model with multimedia can enhance the collaboration skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Karangtanjung, with a percentage of 73.47% in cycle I (categorized as fairly good), 84.37% in cycle II (categorized as good), and 92.18% in cycle III (categorized as very good). It can be concluded that integrating the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) model with multimedia is proven effective in improving the collaboration skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Karangtanjung.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of digital literacy in strengthening the 21st-century learning curriculum at the secondary school level through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The review analyzed 25 scholarly articles published between 2022 and 2025, which were systematically retrieved from Google Scholar, DOAJ, Garuda, and SINTA databases. The literature selection process followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA 2020) guidelines, including identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and inclusion stages. Data were analyzed using a descriptive thematic approach, resulting in four main themes: teachers’ digital literacy and pedagogical competence, students’ digital literacy and 21st-century skills, integration of digital literacy into the curriculum, and challenges as well as institutional support for digital literacy implementation. The findings indicate that digital literacy plays a strategic role in strengthening the 21st-century curriculum by enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competence, fostering students’ critical thinking, collaboration, and self-directed learning skills, and supporting the development of adaptive and contextual curriculum designs. The review also highlights that successful digital literacy implementation is strongly influenced by institutional readiness, including policy support, educational leadership, equitable digital infrastructure, and sustained pedagogically oriented teacher training. Therefore, digital literacy should be positioned as a structural foundation for strengthening the 21st-century learning curriculum in secondary schools to promote an adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable education system in the context of global digital transformation.

Abstract

Father involvement is crucial for children's emotional, social, and cognitive development, but their role in parenting children with special needs remains minimal. This study explores the forms and dynamics of father involvement in parenting children with special needs, focusing on factors that influence father involvement in parenting: emotional, cognitive, social, and behavioral factors. This study examines the forms and dynamics of fathers' involvement in the care of children with special needs, focusing on the emotional, cognitive, social, and behavioral factors that influence fathers' involvement in childcare. This study uses a qualitative case study approach with purposive sampling, based on the criteria of fathers who have children with special needs aged 4 years or older. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and participatory observation, followed by thematic analysis to identify patterns and meanings in the fathers' experiences. Emotionally, fathers experienced shock, denial, and fear, which hindered the development of the father-child relationship. Cognitively, fathers tended to delegate child-rearing responsibilities to mothers. Socially, stigma and shame caused fathers to withdraw from society. Behavioral involvement was inconsistent and generally limited to simple activities. Significant barriers included traditional gender roles, workload, lack of information, and lack of social support. The results of this study highlight the importance of comprehensive family interventions, such as education programs, parenting classes, and psychological counseling, to increase father involvement. Gender-sensitive policies are also needed to create an inclusive environment in the care of children with special needs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between learning interest and science process skills of fourth-grade elementary school students. The study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design involving 89 fourth-grade students in the Melati Cluster, Sumowono District. Learning interest data were collected using a Guttman scale questionnaire, while science process skills were measured through objective tests that had met validity and reliability tests. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests after the data met the prerequisites of normality and linearity. The results showed that students' learning interest was in the very high category, while their science process skills were in the moderate category. The correlation test results showed a positive and significant relationship between learning interest and science process skills among fourth-grade students. These findings indicate that the higher the students' learning interest, the better their science process skills. This study implies that developing students' learning interest needs to be a primary concern in science education in elementary schools.
