Abstract

Abstract. One of the bread tree utilization is to make it powder. In general, the bread tree powder has good taste and good condition than tapioca powder. so, it can produce many kinds of delicious product. Several kinds of food that can make from the bread tree powder are cake, pastry, donuts, pudding, kroket, rissoles, gethuk, klepon, apem ect. The aim of this research is to know the acceptance number (organoleptic) of cake that made from the bread tree powder from fermentation process if we compare with the cake from wheat flour. This research consists of 3 treatments; A1 (cake from wheat flour), A2 (cake from the bread tree powder) and A3 (cake from the bread tree from fermentation process). The product was tested by organoleptic test (taste, smell and texture). Based on the research we know that the taste of A3 product is the most like (62 %) then A1 (48%) and A2 (33 %). The smell of A3 product is the most like (48%) then A1 and A2 (like and dislike just 38%), and the best texture is A1 (67%), A2(48%).Keywords:fortification, cake, fermented the bread tree powder

Abstract

Abstract. Ammonia in hospital wastewater comes from the process of reshuffling of amino acids by various types of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria (Aminullah et al, 2015). Large amounts of ammonia can be toxic and may interfere with aesthetics as they can produce a pungent odor and eutrophication in the surrounding area (Titiresmi and Sopiah, 2006). Therefore it takes innovation in lowering ammonia levels by using plants as biofilter. The purpose of this research is to see the effectiveness of Jirangau (Acorus calamus) and kangkung air (Ipomoea aquatica) plants in reducing ammonia (NH3) in RSUD wastewater from Bitung City. This research method is quasi-experiment with time series design. The main concern of this type of research is the effect of treatment. The results showed that the ammonia concentration at the beginning of the experiment was 3.18 mg / l. In Jirangau-covered containers, there was a decrease of ammonia content up to 0.025 mg / l (99.21%) on the 15th day and planted with water kangkung 0.042 mg / l (98.67%) on the 15th day. From these results, it is concluded that Jirangau plants are more effective than watercress plants in purifying ammonia levels in wastewater. It is therefore advisable to use aquatic plants in lowering the ammonia content in wastewater. Keywords: ammonia, jirangau, watercress.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to know and analyze the plankton diversity and water quality of Batu Gosok Beach in three research locations: sand location, waste location and mangrove location. Population in this research is all plankton contained in coastal waters of rubbing stone and sample taken by Purposive Sampling method. The results of plankton research in three locations were Diversity (H`) of coastal location: 0.732, waste location: 0.71 and mangrove location 0.777. Index Domination of sand location: 0.24, waste location: 0.22 and mangrove location 0.21, Index Abundance of sand location: 1.99, waste location: 1.18, and mangrove location: 1.72, uniformity index of sand location: 0.66, waste location: 0.71 and mangrove location: 0.75. The quality of the coastal waters of Batu Gosok Beach is still good for the survival of plankton animals.Keywords: diversity, plankton, water

Abstract

Fantail goldfish (Carassius auratus) was interested in the fans fish.The cultivation of fantail goldfish needs to vigilance against the parasite, especially Ectoparasite. Ectoparasite that attacks gills can cause death acute. This research attempts to compare structure histology damage gills of fantail goldfish (Carassius auratus) that was attacked by Argulus sp. seen from the time of infection and to see how long infection of Argulus sp. which causes damage on the gills. The research started from March-April 2016 at Department of Cangkringan Fisheries, Sleman and veterinary medicine laboratory of UGM. The research had been used of the artificial infection. The collection of the fish sample start from zero days (not infected), 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. the parameter that observed is the changes of macroscopic which includes clinical symptoms, the change of morphological body of the fish and gills change. In addition, the change of structure gills histology had to compare the level of damage to the making of prepared. The research result showed the change of macroscopic as symptoms clinical of the fish like passive swimming, appetite down and always rubbed the body at the aquarium. The change of morphological body of the fish as foul fins, injury of the skin and the growing of secondary parasite on the skin fish. As macroscopic gills also rose-colored blackish. The change of structure gills histology which infected by Argulus sp. is hyperplasia, congestion, and necrosis. On the first day of hyperplasia and necrosis, day 2 and 3 experienced hyperplasias, congestion, and necrosis with the highest severity on day 3. Environmental factors such as DO, pH, and temperature were unchanged for 3 days of trial and had no effect on Argulus sp. infection in the gills of the goldfish. Abstract

Abstract. This research aimed to note the abundance and diversity of Gastropode on natural mangrove forest at Kuri beach, Nisombalia village-Maros regency. This research conducted by line transect method which was arallel to coastline. The location of sampling had been taken on four stations. Each station comprises of 3 plots sized 1 x 1 metre. The obtained species were identified based on morphological characteristic. The index of diversity and abundance were analyzed with Simpson formula. The result of this study revealed 18 species of 8 families gained from 418 species of Gastropode, which were comprise of Telescopium telescopium, Cerithidea djadjaransis, Tylomeliana toradjarum, Cerithidea cingulata, Littorina scabra, Terebralia sulcata, Cassais semigranosa, Rhinclavis vertagus, Hemifusus ternatarus, Pseudovertagus aluco, Cerithium litteratum, Sphaerassiminea miniata, Cassidula aurisfelis, Cypraea tigris, Strombus luhuanus, Cancellaria scalata. Index of dominance (D) for each station respectively 39, 0.15, 0,22 and 0.27. While the index of diversity (D’) were respectively gained 0.61, 0.85, 0.78 and 0.73. The highest presentation of abundance was Littorina scabra (16 %) while the lowest presentation (0.2 %) obtained by Murex trapa, Cypraea tigris, Tylomeliana toradjarum and Hemifusus ternatanus.Keywords: Gastropode, Mangrove, Index of Diversity, Index of Abundance.

Abstract

Abstract. Descriptive research with survey method was performed to determine Importance Value Index (IVI), Richeness (S), Eveness Index (E), Diversity Index (H’), and Similarity Index (IS) of herb vegetation on White rock and Bulusaraung Mountain Bulu-bulu Countryside Balocci Resort Bantimurung Bulusaraung National Park. Sampling were performed in two directions they are White rock and Bulusaraung Mountain. Transect placed with random. In each transect, 10 plots were made with 2 m x 2 m, placed criss-cross with alternating intervals with 8 m range between each plot. Each herb was counted and identified to species level. IVI of each herb were obtained from relative density, relative frequency and relative dominance. Results showed that 33 speciment, 5 identified by genus level and 28 identified by species level. Species with highest IVI in White rock were O. hirtellus, G. repens, A. compressus, C. prostrate dan C. cordifolium while the lowest were C. gigantea, N. hirsututa, C. sicyoides, P. mollissimum dan A. longiloba. Species of Bulusaraung Mountain with highest IVI were P. bettle, A. longiloba, A. unilaterale, C. rotundatus dan P. mollissimum whereas the least were Macrothelypteris sp., H. peduncularis, Aglaonema sp., Hedychium sp., dan Habenaria sp. BBPH net worth at 23 while the value of species richness in G. Bulsar by 25 species; equity indices in both areas classified as moderate; and high species diversity index at The Mount Bulusaraung otherwise being in the area BBPH. Value IS in the area of Bukit Batu Putih and Mount Bulusaraung relatively low.Keywords: importance value index, richeness, eveness index, diversity index, similarity index, bantimurung bulusaraung national park, herbs vegetation.

Abstract

Abstract. The Plants Cemba (Acacia pennata) included in family Leguminoceae, which is typical plant in Enrekang, South Sulawesi. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of methanol extract of cemba leaves to decrease blood glucose levels in mices male ICR strain induced by alloxan. The leaves were extracted using 96% methanol by maceration method. This study is a randomized complete design (RAL), which contains of 5 treatments and 5 replicates. The extract was dissolved using Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) 0.5% and given orally in mices that had been previously injected by alloxan 120 mg/kg intraperitoneally. The awarding of the extract given different doses i.e., 125, 250 and 500 mg/kg. The data were Analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) using SPSS 2.0 Program and continued by Duncan test (α 0:05), as drugs control using glibenclamide 5 mg / kg whereas the normal control using CMC 0.5%. The results showed that 250 mg/kg dose of the extract had a most effective to decrease blood glucose levels during 14 days of given cemba leaves extract. These results were significantly different with negatif control (105.6 mg/dl) and positif control (105.80 mg/dl), as well as groups of mice that were given the cemba leaves extract 150 and 500 mg/kg. Extract of cemba leaves shows the effect of the decrease blood glucose levels in mices male.Keywords: cemba leaves extract, family Leguminoceae, Enrekang.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of natural and synthetic based diluents in maintaining the quality of Balinese cement semen during storage in temperatures of 4-50°C. This research was conducted at UPTD IB (Technical Implementation Unit of Artificial Insemination Service), Pucak Village, Tompobulu Subdistrict, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. This study was an experimental study using a complete randomized design (RAL) with 4 treatments namely Andromed diluents, Skim milk + egg yolks, Coconut Water + egg yolk and Honey + egg yolk with three replications. The data obtained in the form of sperm motility was analyzed using ANOVA and continued with Duncan test. The results showed that the motility of spermatozoa in the Andromed diluent was significantly different from the other three diluents: skim-yolk, coconutyolk and honey + yolk. The highest motility of spermatozoa on storage in the andromed diluent (50.00%) followed by spermatozoa in diluent Honey + egg yolk at concentration of 5% (50,00) skim-yellow egg (40.00%) and coconut water yolk (45.00%) at hour 0 while at 8th hour the highest motility on storage in andromed diluents (45.00%) followed by spermatozoa in diluent Honey + egg yolks (36,00) skim-yolk 31.00%) and yellow coconut water solvent (25.00%) this occurs because of the length of storage and the occurrence of cold shock effect that resulted in many dead spermatozoa. Abstract

Abstract. The high fat in cooking, the provision by frying, the low consumption of fiber from vegetables, the effects of free radical will gradually cause the buildup of fat and cholesterol in the blood. Albedo durian contains essential oils, flavonoids, and saponins that have the potential in the process of prevention or treatment of diseases associated with free radicals, such as cholesterol. This study aims to determine the potential of local durian albedo and durian montong as a natural agent controlling cholesterol in the body. The study was conducted by analyzing the phytochemical samples of local albedo albedo and durian montong in the laboratory. The results showed that the phytochemical compounds contained in the local durian were equal to the durian montong, which included; saponins, flavonoids, tannins, and triterpenoids. Both samples of albedo durian proved to contain no phytochemical compounds of alkaloids and steroids.Keywords: analysis of phytochemicals, albedo durian, blood cholesterol.l park, herbs vegetation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the content of carbohydrates in the manufacture of soy sauce with the addition of old coconut water and young coconut water. This research was conducted in the laboratory of Biology STKIP-PI Makassar and test of carbohydrate content in Biology Laboratory of Makassar State University. The method used in this research is Spectrophotometer method with wavelength 540 nm. Data obtained from carbohydrate test results were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative, the results showed that with the addition of coconut water effect on the carbohydrate content in the making of soy sauce with the highest carbohydrate content in coconut water soy sauce with the concentration of 15% is 7% carbohydrate level. The result of this research can be concluded that the higher concentration of old coconut water and young coconut water in the making of soy sauce, the higher the carbohydrate level.
