Abstract

This study examines community empowerment by integrating Islamic values into the local wisdom of the Manganan tradition in Sembung Village, Parengan, Tuban. The Manganan tradition, a long-standing cultural practice rooted in communal togetherness and gratitude, has become an effective means of strengthening social cohesion and fostering religious awareness. Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, this research highlights how Islamic teachings are embedded in the rituals, symbols, and communal activities of Manganan, transforming it into a platform for moral education, spiritual development, and community solidarity. The findings show that integrating Islamic values with local traditions not only preserves cultural heritage but also fosters active community participation, cooperation (gotong royong), and the internalization of religious values in daily life. This synergy between religion and culture contributes significantly to sustainable community development and the revitalization of local identity

Abstract

This community service project aimed to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Pesantren-Owned Enterprise (BUMP) at Pondok Pesantren Pangeran Diponegoro Yogyakarta as an effort to develop pesantren-based economic empowerment. Using participatory and collaborative approaches, the team conducted problem identification, managerial assistance, entrepreneurship training, development of standard operating procedures (SOP), and mapping of business legalization strategies. The results indicate that although BUMP's financial contribution remains limited, its social and functional impacts are significant—especially in supporting pesantren operations, improving access to essential services for the pesantren community, and serving as a platform for student entrepreneurship learning. Moreover, community involvement in managing business units has strengthened pesantren’s socio-economic relationships with its surrounding environment. Major challenges such as funding limitations, human resource management, and business legality remain critical areas for long-term improvement. This activity successfully increased institutional awareness, operational capacity, and opened future opportunities for BUMP to grow as a sustainable and inclusive pesantren economic model

Abstract

The Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) in Kloposepuluh Village, Sukodono District, Sidoarjo Regency was implemented to address three main issues: low educational literacy among children, limited digital capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and weak social–spiritual community participation. Abstract

Although the population of young Muslims in Indonesia continues to grow, their halal literacy and understanding of Sharia-compliant business practices remain limited. At the same time, social media offers significant opportunities for developing halal businesses among Muslim millennials. The program employed a participatory action research approach within a qualitative framework. This community service program, implemented through an Entrepreneurship course at Institut Agama Islam Al-Fatimah, aimed to enhance students’ halal literacy and their capacity to utilize social media for halal business development aligned with Islamic values and Sharia-based brand identity. Using a qualitative approach, the program involved course-based assignments, mentoring, focus group discussions, observation, and literature review conducted over one academic semester. Students developed halal business ideas and applied digital marketing strategies through social media platforms. The results indicate that social media integration in Entrepreneurship learning effectively increases halal awareness, creativity, and digital skills, while enabling students to test business ideas, build brands, and reach broader markets at low cost. However, students’ understanding of halal remains stronger in marketing aspects than in substantive areas such as production processes and halal supply chains.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) aims to address the low level of collective awareness among the community in maintaining mosque cleanliness, which has resulted in the suboptimal functioning of the mosque as a center for worship, social activities, and Islamic education in Pojok Village, Ngantru District, Tulungagung Regency. The PKM activities were carried out through a mosque clean-up movement integrated with the strengthening of Islamic literacy and mosque-based digital literacy. The method employed was Participatory Action Research (PAR), consisting of participatory observation, collaborative planning, the implementation of collective actions, mentoring, and reflective evaluation involving mosque management (takmir), mosque youth, religious leaders, and the general congregation. The results of the program indicate a significant improvement in the physical cleanliness of the mosque, the growth of community awareness and shared responsibility in maintaining cleanliness, and the strengthening of the culture of mutual cooperation and Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyah). Furthermore, the activities encouraged active participation from the younger generation, enhanced community understanding of cleanliness as a core value in Islamic teachings, and supported the optimization of the mosque as a center for Islamic and digital literacy. Overall, this PKM program offers a participatory and sustainable mosque-based community empowerment model that has a positive impact on spiritual, social, educational, and environmental aspects..

Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires teachers to integrate technology-based learning media into the teaching and learning process. The limited ability of teachers to develop technology-based instructional media has become an obstacle to English language teaching at the elementary school level. Interactive learning media are needed to increase students’ motivation and engagement; however, they have not been optimally utilized by teachers. This Community Service Program aims to improve the competence of English teachers at SDN 1 Mojoagung in designing and developing technology-based interactive instructional media that are appropriate to the characteristics of elementary school students. The method employed is practice-based training conducted through several stages: (1) needs analysis to identify teachers’ initial competencies and the types of media required; (2) delivery of theoretical material on the concepts of interactive instructional media and the use of educational technology; (3) hands-on workshops on developing digital instructional media using interactive learning applications; (4) guided implementation, in which participants independently develop instructional media under the guidance of the team; and (5) online mentoring and evaluation to provide feedback and ensure the sustainability of media implementation in the classroom. The results indicate an improvement in teachers’ ability to design and produce interactive instructional media, as well as increased motivation and readiness to integrate technology-based media into English language teaching at the elementary school level

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to strengthen the wood ear mushroom (Auricularia auricula) cultivation business managed by the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) of Wotsogo Village, Jatirogo District, Tuban Regency, which is still in the early stage of development. The program employed a participatory community empowerment approach with a qualitative descriptive design to evaluate changes in the partner’s business capacity before and after the intervention. Data were collected through field observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The program was implemented in stages, including problem identification, the formulation and implementation of cultivation and post-harvest Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), product downstreaming training, and assistance in business governance and marketing. The results indicate improvements in both technical and managerial capacities of the BUMDes, as reflected in more consistent SOP implementation, the initial development of value-added mushroom products, and better financial record-keeping and marketing practices. These findings confirm that participatory mentoring is effective in strengthening early-stage village enterprises and contributes to the development of a village-based local economy.
