Abstract

This study examines the legal construction of maintenance obligations within Islamic family law in the contemporary context of working wives. It adopts a doctrinal and normative-comparative approach, integrating classical jurisprudence, Indonesian positive law, judicial practices, and contextual socioeconomic data within a maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah framework. The findings confirm that maintenance remains a fundamental and non-transferable obligation of the husband across doctrinal, statutory, and judicial dimensions, unaffected by the wife’s income. However, judicial practice demonstrates contextual flexibility in determining the proportionality of financial support through case-based reasoning. The analysis further shows that this legal construction aligns with broader objectives of economic protection, fairness, and family stability. This study contributes by offering an integrative normative framework that is contextualized by contemporary social realities, demonstrating the capacity of Islamic family law to adapt without compromising its core principles.

Abstract

This study examines the adoption of digital platforms in e-government and their implications for citizen access, transparency, and administrative efficiency. Using a systematic literature review approach, the study analyzes 92 peer-reviewed articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, applying a PRISMA-based selection process and thematic analysis. The findings identify three main dimensions influencing digital platform adoption: drivers, barriers, and outcomes. Key drivers include citizen expectations, organizational efficiency, technological advancements, and regulatory frameworks, while major barriers consist of digital divide, institutional constraints, fragmented regulations, and trust issues. The results demonstrate that digital platforms improve service access, enhance transparency, and increase efficiency; however, these benefits are uneven and often constrained by structural and institutional limitations. The study further reveals the presence of an “access paradox,” “opaque transparency,” and “islands of automation,” indicating gaps between technological potential and practical implementation. A conceptual framework is proposed to illustrate the dynamic interaction between drivers, barriers, and outcomes. This study contributes to the literature by providing a multi-level analytical perspective and offers insights for policymakers to design more inclusive, integrated, and context-sensitive digital governance strategies.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of consumer protection in transactions conducted through TikTok Marketplace as an emerging form of social commerce that integrates entertainment, algorithmic curation, and e-commerce features. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 150 respondents with purchasing experience on the platform and analyzed through descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression. The study focuses on four dimensions: consumer protection, transparency, allocation of responsibility, and dispute resolution mechanisms. The findings indicate that consumer protection is perceived at a moderate level, suggesting that existing legal frameworks are not fully effective in addressing the structural characteristics of social commerce. Transparency is identified as the most influential factor, followed by responsibility and dispute resolution. However, information is often embedded in persuasive and entertainment-driven formats, limiting clarity and informed decision-making. The study also reveals ambiguity in responsibility among platforms, sellers, and influencers, as well as limited confidence in platform-based dispute resolution systems. These results highlight the need for more adaptive regulatory approaches that integrate legal, technological, and behavioral dimensions to ensure effective consumer protection in digital marketplace environments.

Abstract

The rapid integration of electronic medical records (EMRs) in Indonesian hospitals has improved health care services, but it has also brought up important concerns about privacy protection. This research seeks to assess the effectiveness of legal protection for patient privacy in EMRs by exploring the impact of regulatory awareness, institutional compliance, data governance, and technological measures. This study adopts a quantitative approach based on survey responses from health professionals and administrative personnel responsible for EMRs. Descriptive, reliability, and validity tests, correlation and multiple regression were applied to the data. The results show that all variables have a significant impact on the effectiveness of privacy protection, with data governance practices as the key variable, followed by institutional compliance and technological safeguards but a relatively insignificant effect of regulatory awareness. These findings suggest that the efficacy of legal protection depends on how regulatory principles are institutionalised and technologically implemented. The research suggests a disconnect between the normative and actual legal frameworks, pointing to the importance of holistic governance strategies that incorporate legal, institutional and technological considerations. The results add to the understanding of how to improve data protection in digital health care settings and offer policy insights on how to enhance patient privacy protection in the context of EMRs.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of government regulation on financial accountability and risk management in public sector institutions, addressing the need for a more integrated understanding of governance mechanisms. A quantitative explanatory design was employed, using primary data collected from 200 respondents in strategic financial roles. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability and validity testing, multiple regression, and mediation analysis. The results show that government regulation has a strong and significant positive effect on financial accountability, enhancing transparency, internal control systems, and audit responsiveness. Government regulation also positively affects risk management, although the effect is weaker, indicating that risk practices remain largely compliance-oriented. Furthermore, financial accountability significantly influences risk management and partially mediates the relationship between government regulation and risk management. These findings highlight the interconnected nature of regulation, accountability, and risk governance. The study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence on integrated governance mechanisms in the public sector and suggests that improving accountability systems and institutional capacity is essential for strengthening effective risk management beyond formal regulatory compliance.
