Abstract

Organizational culture plays a crucial role in determining employee productivity, especially in the healthcare sector where service quality directly affects patient outcomes. In private hospitals, competitiveness depends on efficiency and patient satisfaction, making cultural alignment with employee performance essential. This study examines the relationship between organizational culture and employee productivity in private hospitals in Gorontalo, Indonesia. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 150 respondents, including doctors, nurses, and administrative staff across three hospitals, through structured questionnaires assessing teamwork, leadership, communication, innovation, and recognition. Employee productivity indicators included service quality, timeliness, discipline, initiative, and responsiveness. Findings show that most respondents were female (60%) and aged 31–40 years (36.7%), representing the most productive group. Perceptions were strongest in teamwork (70%) and leadership (65.3%), while innovation and recognition were weaker. Productivity was highest in service quality (72%) and responsiveness (70.7%). Correlation analysis showed a strong positive relationship (r = 0.654, p < 0.01), with regression indicating that culture explained 42.8% of productivity variance. Strengthening recognition systems and encouraging innovation can further improve performance and service quality.

Abstract

Agriculture remains the backbone of rural livelihoods in West Sumatra, where farming continues to provide both income and food security for local communities. However, the sustainability of agribusiness ventures extends beyond land ownership and resource availability; it critically depends on the entrepreneurial competence of agripreneurs to anticipate risks, plan strategically, and innovate within increasingly competitive markets. This study examines the influence of entrepreneurial competence on business sustainability among rural agripreneurs in West Sumatra using a quantitative survey design involving 120 randomly selected respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires encompassing demographic characteristics, entrepreneurial competence dimensions business planning, marketing, and financial management and sustainability indicators across economic, social, and environmental domains. Statistical analysis revealed that agripreneurs possessed moderate competence in business planning and marketing but exhibited deficiencies in financial literacy and environmental stewardship. Business planning and financial management were identified as the strongest predictors of sustainability, while marketing competence showed a weaker but positive association. Despite contributing to local economic growth, limited strategic foresight and low adoption of sustainable and digital practices constrained long-term viability. Strengthening entrepreneurial competence through targeted training and policy interventions is therefore essential to enhance resilience, competitiveness, and sustainability among rural agripreneurs in West Sumatra.

Abstract

Women-led small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have emerged as vital contributors to economic growth and social empowerment in Makassar. Despite their increasing presence, many face persistent financial and structural barriers that hinder expansion and sustainability. This study investigates the relationship between entrepreneurial financing strategies and the growth of women-led SMEs in Makassar. Using a mixed-method approach, quantitative data were collected from 150 women entrepreneurs through structured surveys, complemented by qualitative interviews and focus group discussions. The quantitative analysis examined key financing sources, including personal savings, microfinance, bank loans, and informal borrowing, while business growth was measured through revenue, market reach, and employment indicators. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression models, supported by qualitative insights into financial access challenges and strategic decision-making. The results indicate that personal savings remain the dominant financing source (38%), followed by microfinance (25%), bank loans (20%), and informal borrowing (17%). Regression analysis confirmed that formal financing particularly bank loans and microfinance positively influences revenue and market expansion. However, qualitative findings reveal enduring barriers such as collateral constraints, high interest rates, and limited financial literacy. The study concludes that improving access to affordable credit and entrepreneurial capacity-building is essential to strengthen women-led SME growth in Makassar.

Abstract

This study examines the contribution of Human Resource Development (HRD) programs to employee career advancement in state universities, emphasizing how training, mentoring, leadership development, digital literacy initiatives, and research support shape professional growth within higher education institutions. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 220 academic, administrative, and support staff selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Structured questionnaires measured HRD participation and career advancement indicators, followed by descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, and regression testing. The findings reveal that HRD programs significantly enhance employees’ competencies, motivation, and job satisfaction, while also demonstrating a strong positive relationship with career advancement outcomes. Despite these benefits, the study indicates that developmental participation does not always translate into equitable promotional opportunities due to institutional structures and limited leadership pathways. HRD contributes 45.3 percent of the variance in career advancement, confirming its strategic importance yet highlighting the need for stronger alignment between development initiatives and promotion systems. The study concludes that universities must elevate HRD as a core element of human capital governance and strengthen its link to transparent career progression. Future research should adopt longitudinal or mixed-method approaches to further explore institutional factors shaping advancement.

Abstract

The Indonesian smartphone industry has experienced rapid expansion, with mid-tier brands in Jakarta occupying a strategic position in serving consumers who demand affordability without sacrificing quality. Within this highly competitive environment, differentiation strategies are crucial for establishing brand distinctiveness and sustaining customer loyalty. This study investigates the application of differentiation strategies and their influence on customer loyalty among users of mid-tier smartphones in Jakarta. A quantitative survey approach was employed, complemented by semi-structured interviews and secondary data analysis. Data were collected from 150 respondents who had used mid-tier smartphones for a minimum of six months, ensuring informed evaluations. The findings indicate that product quality, features and innovation, brand image, and design significantly affect customer loyalty, with product quality emerging as the most influential factor. Conversely, after-sales service did not show a significant effect, suggesting that consumers in the mid-tier segment prioritize immediate functional value over long-term service considerations. Regression analysis reveals that differentiation strategies explain 63 percent of the variance in customer loyalty. These results highlight the importance of consistent quality management, continuous incremental innovation, and strong brand positioning globally.
