Abstract

This study aims to analyze the green supply chain management (GSCM) strategies implemented by retail companies and the challenges faced in their implementation. The method used is a survey with structured interviews with several respondents who have important roles in the company's supply chain. This study focuses on strategies such as green procurement, route optimization, use of renewable energy, recycling management, and marketing of environmentally friendly products. The results of the study indicate that the GSCM strategies implemented have had a positive impact on reducing operational costs and improving the company's image, although there are challenges such as high initial investment costs and limited green logistics infrastructure. The recommendations of this study include the need for government support in the form of tax incentives and investment in environmentally friendly technologies as well as closer collaboration with suppliers to improve sustainability.

Abstract

This paper will review the impact of the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) on the quality of the products, the engagement of the employees and customer satisfaction in a manufacturing company. A quasi-experimental study, further complemented by a pre-test/post-test procedure, has been implemented; TQM training was conducted with the experimental group whereas conventional training was used with the control group. The information was obtained by quality performance measures such as, defect rate, cycle time and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and surveys of employee perception and customer satisfaction. The comparison using statistical tools was done on paired t-test and independent t-test. The results show us statistically significant reduction of the defect rate, that was 4.5 percent to 2.0 percent and cycle time which was 25 minutes to 18 minutes in the case of the experimental group. At the same time, there was a significant boost in employee engagement and customer satisfaction with the sum total of the satisfaction level improving by a mark of 7.3 to 9.2. There was a significantly lower change in the control group. Overall, the results indicate that TQM initiatives delivered a significant effect on the quality of the products, staff involvement, and satisfaction with customers.

Abstract

The current research paper examines the implementation of the Just-in-Time (JIT) management of inventory in the retail business enterprise and its practical use in cost reduction. The researcher identified ten retail companies, five using JIT systems and five using conventional inventory techniques; this was done through a descriptive design where surveys and structured interviews were administered. The main data sources include financial statements, inventory ledgers, and views of operation as well as supply-chain managers. The results show that the costs of holding inventory experienced a statistically significant decrease by entities that use JIT with an average reduction of about $300,000 a year, and the overall operations costs by about an average of half a million dollars. Moreover, JIT adopters were able to achieve higher stock turnover levels and less inventory out-of-stock situations, hence attaining a higher level of inventory efficiency. However, the JIT strategy is fraught with other problems including issues of coordination with the suppliers as well as the investment in the supporting technologies. The study, therefore, focuses on the strategic potential of JIT as a way of enhancing operational performance within the retail sector as well as outlining contextual limitations that has to be overcome so as to achieve lasting success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of production capacity planning strategies in managing seasonal demand fluctuations in the food and beverage industry. Seasonal variability often presents challenges such as stockouts and operational inefficiencies, requiring companies to adopt flexible strategies to optimize production. The research employs a descriptive-quantitative design, surveying industry professionals and analyzing operational data from 10 food and beverage companies. Key strategies evaluated include Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS), advanced forecasting techniques, and supplier collaboration, focusing on their impact on production volume, lead time, and inventory turnover. Results show that companies implementing FMS and advanced forecasting achieved significant improvements in production volume (50% increase) and lead time reduction (up to 50%). Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) confirmed that advanced forecasting and FMS had the most substantial effects on operational efficiency during peak demand periods. These findings underscore the importance of integrating flexible systems and predictive analytics in capacity planning to enhance responsiveness and mitigate seasonal demand challenges.
The Influence of Motivation and Work Discipline in Improving Employee Performance of CV. BOSS Sukses Sejati Makassar TN, Asriana

Abstract

A quantitative study, which was carried out in the framework of CV. BOSS Sukses Sejati Makassar researched on how highly motivation and work discipline were in predicting employee performance. The correlational research design was used, and 100 participants were recruited in the study consisting of heterogeneous organizational segments and measuring dependent variables, motivation and work discipline, with standardized questionnaires, supplemented by supervisor-rated and self-evaluated performance scores obtained in corporate records. There were several regressions showing that motivation and work discipline had a significant effect on output and that the influence of work discipline was significantly greater compared to motivational influence. These findings imply that organizational norms, being prompt, and doing everything by the book are more determinant of employee performance than more individualistic (motivating) aspects. Therefore, as much as motivation is a non-negotiable element that drives goal achievement, cultivated behavior provides them with the uniformity and reliability that anchors performance. These results highlight the two-fold strategic necessity of work discipline and high motivation intertwining. Managerial interventions must therefore promote a working culture that blends the importance of psychological motivation-appreciation and career growth and behavioral models that advance responsibility and standardization of processes. Based on such balancing, organizations make their expected behavior more aligned with the achieved performance and vice versa, maximizing productivity.

Abstract

The focus in this case study is drawn on the issue of economic accountability in corporate social responsibility. Therefore, an attempt is made to evaluate the extent to which human resources (HR) may influence CSR to assume economically understanding projects and define the role of HR in influencing employee and external stakeholder attitudes and behaviours. To this end, the research analyzes the relationship between HR-centric CSR practices and wealth creation outside the company premises. There are few empirical studies on that kind of influence and earlier studies have shown that HR does have the potential to influence organisational initiatives but the employes are more likely in their traditional roles. Therefore, there is a fair amount of latent potential that is underexploited. To explain these interrelations in the banking sector, three hypotheses are developed. Internal consistency is measured using Cronsoh 7s alpha, which indicate an acceptable result toward 1 human resource policy: 0.924 < 1; Corporate social responsibility: 0.973 < 1; and the effect of a human resource policy and corporate social responsibility on redistribution of wealth: 0.983 < 1. These findings support the reliability of constructs. Regression analysis is used to ensure the explanatory adequacy of the theoretical model, with the result indicating an R 2 of 86 percent. All three correlation tests show statistical relationships indicating that when HR is allowed increased autonomy, it can wield significant impacts of organisational outcomes such as employee motivation to policy implementation.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of financial constraints, employee resistance, and external challenges on the implementation of effective risk management strategies in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Despite the growing recognition of the need for proactive risk management, MSMEs face significant barriers to adopting comprehensive frameworks due to limited financial resources, reluctance to embrace change, and the volatility of external market and regulatory environments. Financially constrained businesses often prioritize short-term survival over long-term risk mitigation, while employees resist the adoption of new technologies and risk management systems, slowing down potential improvements. Moreover, MSMEs are frequently confronted with external pressures, including economic instability and evolving regulatory requirements, which further hinder their ability to manage risks effectively. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, this study provides valuable insights into the multifaceted challenges MSMEs face in adopting robust risk management practices and offers practical recommendations for overcoming these barriers. The findings underscore the importance of financial support, employee training, and strategic partnerships in enhancing MSMEs' resilience to external shocks and regulatory demands.
