Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technologies has created new opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to expand their markets and improve operational efficiency. This study focuses on the digital entrepreneurship readiness and challenges faced by women-owned SMEs in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative research design, using a survey with 120 women SME owners to assess their digital literacy, access to technology, financial readiness, and perceived barriers to digital adoption. The results indicate that while 62% of respondents exhibit moderate digital readiness, only 38% have fully integrated digital tools such as e-commerce platforms, online marketing, and digital payments into their businesses. The main challenges identified include limited digital skills, financial constraints, poor internet access, and gender-related constraints. Despite these challenges, many women entrepreneurs recognize the potential of digital tools to enhance their income and independence. The findings suggest that training programs, affordable digital infrastructure, and financial inclusion initiatives are essential to empower women entrepreneurs in the digital era. This study contributes to understanding how gender-specific barriers impact digital adoption in rural and semi-urban contexts and offers recommendations for policy interventions. Future research could focus on evaluating the long-term effects of digital empowerment programs on women-owned SMEs.

Abstract

Effective conflict management is essential for enhancing collaboration and productivity within project teams. This study investigates the types of conflicts prevalent in project settings specifically task-related, interpersonal, and process-related conflicts and explores the impact of various conflict management strategies on team performance. Through a qualitative case study approach, data was gathered from multiple project teams across different industries, highlighting how collaborative conflict management positively influences team dynamics and project outcomes. The results show that task-related conflicts, when addressed collaboratively, contribute to improved team cohesion and productivity. However, process-related conflicts often require a more structured approach, as collaborative methods alone may not fully resolve procedural disagreements. This study supports the notion that tailored conflict management approaches are necessary for optimal team performance and project success.

Abstract

This research study examines the effectiveness of a 360 degree performance evaluation system within a multinational company, an organisation where input is solicited by the workmates, superiors, subordinates and the employees themselves. In combining these complex views the tool can provide a comprehensive evaluation of skills and developmental needs. The study design is a mixed-methods research including quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews that will be used to elaborate employee perception, culture factored to the given organisational dynamics regarding feedback. The findings indicate that despite enhancing performance insight and advancing the culture of growth, the system is faced with other challenges that include the cultural sensitivity, fear of feedback, and inconsistency across regions. Additionally, issues such as culture, and interpersonal considerations determine decisively the interpretation and implementation of feedback and hence affect the engagement of the employee. The research thus highlights the need of culturally adaptive measures and constant supervision in order to maximise the efficiency of such a system in organisations across the world.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of price and product quality on consumer purchasing decisions for Zara brand clothing in Medan in 2024. The rapid development of the fashion industry in Indonesia and the increasing presence of global fast-fashion brands such as Zara have made it important to understand how local consumers evaluate their choices. Employing a quantitative research design, the study used a purposive sampling technique with 100 respondents who had previously purchased Zara products in Medan. Primary data were gathered through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS. The analysis revealed that both price and product quality exert a positive and significant effect on consumer purchasing decisions. While price remains a critical consideration, product quality emerged as the dominant factor influencing satisfaction, loyalty, and repurchase intention. These findings underscore the importance for Zara’s management to maintain a consistent balance between competitive pricing and high-quality standards. Strategically aligning price fairness with superior product quality is expected to strengthen consumer trust, increase purchase frequency, and enhance Zara’s competitiveness in the Medan fashion market.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the development of the implementation of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) activities by contributing to increasing the income of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan City. This study was conducted with a quantitative approach related to survey techniques on 80 MSME actors who have direct experience in MICE activities. The findings show that most respondents experienced an increase in income and expansion of business relations after their involvement in MICE. Around 80% of respondents have been involved as exhibition booth renters, providers of consumption services, or souvenir makers. Businesses in the culinary and handicraft sectors are the most widely run, because they are in line with the typical needs of MICE events. In addition to providing a direct economic impact, MICE has also proven to be a strategic promotional media for local MSME products. However, there are still various obstacles such as limited production capacity, lack of mastery of digital technology, and minimal training available. Thus, synergy between MSME actors, event organizers, and the government is key to optimizing the role of the MICE industry as a driver of local economic growth.

Abstract

In this paper, the author considers the effects of information technology (IT) application on the service effectiveness at BPJS Employment, one of the major providers of social insurance in Indonesia. Quantitative method was used to collect data using structured questionnaires to 120 respondents, of which 120 are staff and the remaining are service users. Inferential statistical tests such as correlation and regression analysis have indicated that IT utilization and service effectiveness have strong and significant positive relationship. According to the regression model, the use of IT was used to explain the difference in the service effectiveness with a standardized coefficient of 0.742 and p-value of less than 0.001. The results indicate that online registration, automated claims, and mobile systems enhance greatly the value of service, efficiency, speed, and accuracy. The findings offer empirical information regarding e-governance procedures in Indonesia, which is important to supplement the current literature that mostly focuses on qualitative approaches. The study, with a quantitative analysis, contributes to the debate on the way digital tools can change the public service institutions. In general, the study shows that it is imperative to empower IT infrastructures, to train its users, and to advocate digital literacies to continue to streamline service delivery and to make the public sector institutions in Indonesia sustainable.

Abstract

The current research focuses on the effectiveness of the implementation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to improve service quality in Sis Collection, a cosmetics retailer located in the city of JCity Medan Johor, during the year 2025. The study follows a descriptive quantitative design, and data are gathered using a structured questionnaire that was given to five employees in the store. The domain of the study is to determine whether SOPs lead to efficiency, consistency, and customer satisfaction in day-to-day service delivery. The empirical evidence has shown that most of the employees view SOPs as useful in providing faster and more organized services, especially when dealing with customer complaints. Employees reported that SOPs minimize mistakes, provide a more orderly workflow and build confidence in working with customers. Nevertheless, there are still difficulties, since not all staff members said they were properly exposed to SOPs, and procedures were not actively communicated and enforced in a consistent way. Such gaps highlight the significance of ongoing training and regular distribution of SOP guidelines to maintain consistency in their usage throughout the organization. Overall, the findings suggest that SOPs have significant potential to improve the quality of service; however, their performance depends on their regular use and continued organizational investment in employees.

Abstract

Organizational structure and design are the main foundations in carrying out activities and achieving organizational goals effectively. Organizational structure regulates the formal relationship between tasks and authorities, while organizational design represents how the structure is formed and adjusted to the internal and external needs of the organization. In a dynamic era, organizations are required to adapt through an open system approach that prioritizes interaction with the environment. This study examines key elements in organizational structure such as work specialization, departmentalization, chain of command, span of control, centralization-decentralization, and formalization. In addition, factors that influence organizational design-including strategy, scale, technology, and environment-are also analyzed. Various structural models such as simple, functional, product, matrix, and network structures are explained along with their advantages and challenges. Understanding the theory of organizational structure and culture enriches the perspective on how organizational design plays a role in supporting performance and adaptation amidst rapid environmental changes. This study provides a theoretical and practical basis for the development of adaptive and effective organizational structures.
