Abstract

This study aims to find out: Is problem based learning learning can improve student learning outcomes in class XI IIS 3 in the eye This research is classroom action research (PTK) by conducting analytical techniques, there are those that will be analyzed are pretest (midterm scores) as  the basic score then the final test results of the first cycle and second cycle and the activity data in the form of student activity sheets observed by the observer to find out the responses after the implementation of the problem based learming model.  Learning outcomes before using the problem based leaning learning model 72.28% experienced an increase after being applied in the first cycle of 72.57% and the second cycle 78.85% with an increase of 8.33%.  The results of observations of student activities in teaching and learning activities experienced changes in the first cycle 37.65% experienced changes in student learning activities in the second cycle 73.1% with the active category, this experienced improved attitude from the previous cycle.

Abstract

This type of research is Experimental research, which consists of 2 classes, namely the experimental class (the class that learns to use the Discovery learning model) and the control class (the class that learns to use conventional learning models). This study aims to study the differences in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class, as well as to learn about the effectiveness of Discovery learning on improving student learning outcomes on Geography subjects at SMAN 8 Makassar. From the results of the study, data obtained showing the results of the learning class increased by 4.34 and the increase in class control increased by 10.12 with an average value of 73.4 and 73.76. While the results of inferential analysis using the t-test show the value of sig. 2 tailed> 0.05, it does not mean a significant difference in learning outcomes of students who learn to use the Discovery learning model with students who learn to use Conventional learning models. The effectiveness of Discovery learning in this study was 43% or included in the category of Effective.

Abstract

 The research aimed to find out: 1) The form of implementing the 2013 curriculum. 2) The teacher's problem in implementing the 2013 curriculum. 3) The efforts made by the teacher to overcome the problem. This research was a qualitative research. The target in this study were 4 senior high schools in Baubau by taking 7 Geography teachers as respondents. Data collection in this study applied observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then those were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that: 1) The 2013 curriculum used graduate competencies which included aspects of attitudes, knowledge, and skills; use student-oriented learning processes; applying the Scientific Approach. 2) In the process of applying the 2013 curriculum were still many problems experienced by teachers such as; the changes of curriculum in the lesson plan; lack of function understanding on lesson plan; lack of computers mastery to develop lesson plans; lack of preparation time in designing lesson plans; Geography textbooks were still lacking in libraries; computer laboratories were no longer functioning; lack of additional facilities in class. 3) The efforts made by the teacher to overcome the problem; change the mindset to the 2013 curriculum mindset; make the principal more attentive and motivate the teacher; take part in more active socialization and training related to Curriculum 2013; improve the socialization of relationships between teachers; motivate yourself to be more excited; make the best use of reference book resources; study computer science and information technology; and strive for schools to provide and improve facilities and infrastructure to support the learning process.

Abstract

The results showed an increase in the geography learning outcomes of XI IPS 1 students at Makassar State High School 12 after the problem based learning model was applied with the following indications: 1) the learning value of the geography of students in which 71.34% experienced a learning model of learning problems improvement after applied problem based learning models in the first cycle of 73.81% including the medium category and the second cycle 79.01% including the high category, with an increase in the percentage of 6.58%, 2) the results of observations of student activities in teaching and learning activities experienced changes, at cycle I 46.7% experienced changes in student learning activities in the second cycle 59.4% with the active category. This means experiencing improved attitude from the previous cycle. It is recommended: 1) geography teachers should be creative in creating a classroom atmosphere so that students are not bored and comfortable in presenting material while learning and are more motivated in paying attention to what is taught, 2) it is best for the school to maximize facilities and infrastructure in schools, provide textbooks in library.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of full day school system  at SMAN 11 Makassar. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach, the subjects in this research consisted of the headmaster, the deputy headmaster of the curriculum section, the deputy headmaster of the public relations section, the deputy head of the student section, the teacher, and students. The sampling techniques are purposive sampling, snowball sampling, and incidental sampling. The data collection techniques are participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique is done in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The test of data validity use method triangulation and source triangulation. The results of this study show that the implementation of full day school at SMAN 11 Makassar exceed time standarization of Permendikbud No 23 Tahun 2017, it ought to 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a 5 days.  Extracurricular activities of Kelompok Ilmiah Remaja (KIR) still have not implemented, eventhough it obliged based on Permendikbud. Implementation of day school is divided into several parts, namely activities that are daily, weekly, incidental, annual activities. Inhibiting factors are facilities and infrastructure, lack of learning innovations from teachers, background of students, comparison between the number of teachers and students is not comparable, schools have not established cooperation with educational institutions, and physical conditions of teachers and students who are easily tired. Supporting factors are the availability of projector facilities for each teacher and screen for each class, and the availability of adequate laboratory facilities such as laboratories in physics, chemistry, biology, computers, and languages.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: 1) What are the socio-economic conditions of cocoa farmers in Pasapa Village 2) What are the factors that influence the income of cocoa farmers in Pasapa Village, Budong-Budong District, Central Mamuju District, West Sulawesi Province. This research is quantitative descriptive research. The population of 500 family heads determines systematically random sampling with a sample of 15% so that 75 respondents can be obtained by respondents. Data collection in this study was carried out by observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data obtained are then analyzed by descriptive analysis techniques and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS V.22. The results showed that on average cocoa farmers aged 36-45 years and the length of work as cocoa farmers an average of 15-20 years, the average cocoa farmer household has a total of 4-6 people, education of cocoa farmers in Pasapa Village is still low, where the most frequently found are: elementary school graduates 36.00%. The average income of cocoa farmers is> Rp.5,000,000 - Rp.10,000,000 per year. In order to meet primary and secondary needs, as well as to increase business capital and income, cocoa farmers have other jobs including: rice farmers, oil palm farmers, corn farmers, cattle farmers, entrepreneurs, honor teachers, contract teachers, and civil servants. Based on the research results, cocoa farmers were declared not poor The average use of capital is <Rp.500,000 - Rp.5,000,000. The average area cultivated is 25-75 acres. With the number of production most often found in a month is <50 kg with a percentage of 49.33. The average proceeds from cocoa sales are invested in the education of children of cocoa farmers. Based on the results of the research, the income of cocoa farmers is influenced by the length of work, the number of working hours each to the garden in each day, the age of cocoa, the area of land and the amount of production.

Abstract

This study aims to: determine the intensity of social media usage on General High School students in Palopo City and find out the effect of social media usage on student geography learning outcomes. The variables in this study are the use of social media consisting of 4 indicators, namely 1) owned social media accounts, 2) intensity of accessing social media, 3) the use of social media, and 4) the impact of using social media. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The population in this study were 2298 students and 10% of the samples were taken, 230 students. Sampling in this study using Simple random sampling technique. With. The results showed that 230 students taken in this study accessed social media in the highest frequency a day at> 5 hours a day, which was 61 students or 26.52% and from 6 schools studied only 3 schools where social media had an effect on learning outcomes the geography of students with a large influence of 10-15% with a weak degree of relationship, while the factors that cause social media to influence student learning outcomes come from internal and external factors of the students themselves. while the other 3 schools, where social media does not affect learning outcomes because they tend to use social media for the benefit of entertainment, friendship, online games, and others. Because the influence of the use of social media is weak and is only found in 3 schools, in this study Social Media has no effect on student geography learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) The socio-economic condition of sand miners 2.) The level of income of sand miners before and after the existence of a sand mine in Cimpu Utara Village, Suli District, Luwu Regency. This research method uses descriptive qualitative. The population in this study is the owner and labor of sand miners totaling 36 people. Data collection was carried out using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The socio-economic conditions of the people who work as sand mines are aged 40-44 years as much as 30.55%,. graduated from junior high as much as 36.11%. The previous respondents' livelihoods were entrepreneurs, farmers and fishermen. 2) The impact of the existence of a sand mine on the socio-economic conditions of the community that is researchers conclude the impact after the existence of a sand mine is very influential on the level of community income. It can be seen from the income before the sand mine Rp. 375.000-583.000/month while the income after the sand mining is around Rp. 512,000 - 6,250,000 / month.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) The description of the traditional market traders income before the Grand Mall, (2) description of the traditional market traders income after their Grand Mall, (3) The impact of the Grand Mall to the traditional market traders income levels. The method used is descriptive quantitative and population in this study is the traditional market traders who sell similar goods with the goods sold in the Grand Mall as many as 288 vendors. The sample was 72 merchants. Data collection techniques by observation, interviews, questionnaires / questioner and documentation with the relevant parties. Methods of data analysis used descriptive analysis. The results showed that the presence of the Grand Mall impact on traditional market traders. As for the impact that revenue diminution, reduction in the number of customers, decreasing the amount of sales of goods. Based on the 72 traders only 23 were affected and the remaining 49 traditional traders are not affected by the presence of the modern market. So that, when viewed descriptively in fact the presence of the Grand Mall is not as strong an effect on the income of traditional market traders batangase only affect 23 traders from 72 traditional traders as samples, or approximately 32%.

Abstract

SMA Negeri 2 Kulisusu is one of the schools in North Buton Regency which is the object of research by researchers because student learning outcomes are still low. The purposes of this study are: (1) To see a picture of student learning activities through the application of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model in class X IIS 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Kulisusu; (2) To see the description of teacher teaching activities through the application of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model in class X IIS 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Kulisusu; (3) To see a picture of an increase in the learning outcomes of grade X IIS 1 students at SMA Negeri 2 Kulisusu by using the Think Talk Write learning model. The data in this study are qualitative and quantitative data obtained from observation sheets and learning outcomes tests. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that: (1) in the first cycle the average score of student learning activities was 2,4 which was categorized sufficiently increased in the second cycle to 3,6 which was categorized as good; (2) in the first cycle the average score of the teaching activities of the teachers was 2,5 which was categorized sufficiently increased in the second cycle to 3,6 which was categorized as good; and (3) an increase in geography learning outcomes of students of class X IIS 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Kulisusu from cycle I to cycle II. In the first cycle showed that 21 students who scored   75 with an average value of 75,3. Furthermore, the results of the second cycle test showed a significant increase because there were 28 students who scored   75 with an average score of 81,3.
