Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the implementation of scientific learning assisted by GeoGebra media that can improve the reasoning of Grade VIII junior high school students on the topic of circles. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of four components: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants in this study were students of class VIII.1A at SMPN 3 Gangga, and it was carried out in the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Data collection used test sheet instruments. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in students' reasoning from 62.5% in cycle 1 to 81.25% in cycle 2. Thus, scientific learning assisted by GeoGebra can improve students' reasoning on the topic of circles with the following stages: (a) the observing stage, which involves paying attention to something using the senses, not limited to the sense of sight but also other senses, such as reading, listening, watching, and so on, (b) the questioning stage, which stimulates students' curiosity, leading to a desire to conduct further investigation related to the observed object through questions, (c) the data collection stage, which is a follow-up to the questioning activity, (d) the associating stage, where the collected data is linked to answer the problem formulation in the questioning stage, and (e) the communicating stage, which involves sharing or presenting a summary of the learning activities from observing to associating through various means, both orally, in writing, presentations, images, reports, tables, graphs, and so on.

Abstract

In the 2013 curriculum it is hoped that 21st century learning can be implemented which reflects four things, namely Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Creativity and Innovation, Communication, and Collaboration. Teachers need to open space for students to develop their creativity so that they better understand the concepts being studied by designing project-based learning. Projects produced by students are in the form of daily meal menu designs. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the material for arithmetic operations with integers and fractions by applying the Project Based Learning model with the project title 'Track Your Calories' in an effort to provide knowledge to students about the importance of managing a diet according to daily calorie needs while at the same time increasing students' ability to carry out operations. calculate integers and fractions, especially in calculating calories in the food you eat. This research is a classroom action research involving class VII-E with 30 students divided into two cycles. Learning with the PjBL model "Track Your Calories" has a positive impact on improving student learning outcomes as indicated by an increase in student learning completeness in each cycle, namely cycle I with a percentage of 66.67%, and an increase in cycle II, namely 86.67%. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of project based learning 'Track Your Calories' can improve learning outcomes in whole number and fraction operations.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the factors of the PjBL and PBL learning models, as well as learning styles, kinesthetic and visual, the development of critical and creative thinking skills in students can influence and interact with each other in the educational context. The research used two classes with a total of 20 students in each class who were randomly selected. After the experiment was completed, critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills were measured. Hypothesis testing in this study used 2-way Manova multivariate covariance analysis. For each assumption test, a significance level of 5% is used. Statistical analysis techniques were carried out using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) data processor for Windows. The results of data analysis show a sig value. for Pilla's Trace, Wilks'Lambda, Hotelling'Trace, Roy's Lest Root for learning models and learning styles is greater than 0.05 which means it is not significant, then Ho is accepted. So there is no significant difference in critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills from the PjBL & PBL learning models and the kinesthetic & visual learning styles applied. While the interaction model and learning styles are smaller than 0.05, which means they are significant, then Ho is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an interaction effect between learning models and learning styles on critical thinking skills and creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

Learning tools have a very important role in the learning process. Good learning tools make it easier for teachers to assist in the process of facilitating student learning. The aim of this research is to produce project-based mathematics learning tools that are valid, efficient and effective for improving students' social skills and cognitive learning outcomes. The type of research that will be used in this research is Development Research. The development model used is a development model adapted from the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). The data collection instruments used include device validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, student social skills observation sheets and cognitive ability evaluation test sheets. The research results obtained: the results of device validation, the average score reached 4.2 with a very valid category; The average percentage of students' social skills scores reached 89.2% in the very good category; classical completeness reached 82% of students achieving a complete score; and teacher and student response data reached 4.2 to 93.3% which is in the very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that project-based mathematics learning tools are valid, efficient and effective for improving students' social skills and cognitive learning outcomes in statistics material.

Abstract

Contextualization is a form of transformation process through various real problems in mathematical form. The context of the questions plays an important role as a stimulus to better understand numeracy in mathematics learning. Mathematical numeracy is the knowledge and skills used with various numbers and symbols to solve various problems in everyday life. The aim of this research is to analyze the contextualization of numeracy-based questions in fifth grade mathematics learning in elementary schools in West Lombok district. The research method used is a qualitative method with a multi-case study approach. The subjects used were students, teachers and school principals. The research techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis used is reduction, data display, drawing conclusions and data verification. The validity of the data uses extended observations, researcher persistence and triangulation. The results of the research were that in the personal context, case 1 the teacher never presented personal context questions directly or very rarely. Meanwhile, in case 2, there was no personal context at all in the question text. In the socio-cultural context, both case 1 and case 2 did not include this in the question paper. Lastly, in the scientific context of case 1, the question paper was included in the text, but it was still simple and not accompanied by pictures or infographics

Abstract

This research aims to produce mathematics learning media in the form of Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model in statistical material oriented towards numeracy skills. The development of worksheets was carried out based on the development model by Plomp. One of the qualities of the media developed includes practical aspects. The practicality of the worksheets learning media was assessed by students by filling out a response questionnaire on the use of worksheets. The developed worksheets meets practical criteria if the average score of students' responses to mathematics learning media is in the minimum good classification (X>28). The response questionnaire for using worksheets was filled in by students in grades 8.4 and 8.5 of MTsN 1 Mataram, totaling 51 students. The research results show that the worksheets meets practical criteria. Based on the results of student responses, students' use of worksheets shows an average score of 32.48 which has a good classification. Thus, the worksheets developed is easy and useful to use in mathematics learning.
