Abstract

The aim of this study is to explain how the obstacles experienced by mathematics education students through online learning during the pandemic. This research is descriptive research. Respondents in this study were students of mathematics education at the University of Mataram, amounting to 126 people. The data in this study were obtained through a questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results showed that most of the obstacles experienced by students were in terms of internet networks and inadequate devices. In addition, students also have difficulty understanding lecture material online and feel that their motivation and interest in learning has decreased during the pandemic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran Flipped Classroom terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Materi yang digunakan adalah sifat bangun geometri yang diajarkan pada semester genap dengan model pembelajaran Flipped Classroom berbantuan LKPD dan video pembelajaran sebagai media pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 58 siswa yang terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 28 siswa kelas kontrol yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan menggunakan instrumen pretest dan posttest. Adapun data posttest menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan klasikal pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis data N-Gain score menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah diberikan perlakuan. Hasil uji t pada penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Tanjung Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024 setelah diberikan pembelajaran Flipped Classroom. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Flipped Classroom berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Tanjung tahun ajaran 2023/2024.

Abstract

Urban mobility is a crucial aspect of modern city life, where transportation systems play a vital role in supporting daily activities. The increasing use of transportation demands optimal traffic management to prevent congestion. One of the frequent congestion points of concern is the Tanah Haji intersection in Mataram City, which often experiences long queues due to inefficient traffic light management. To address this issue, the Monte Carlo simulation method was employed to evaluate and optimize the traffic light duration in each direction of the intersection. The study results indicate that the optimal green light duration is 22 seconds for the westbound direction with a vehicle flow difference of 3.56%, 20 seconds for the eastbound direction with a difference of 8.13%, 35 seconds for the southbound direction with a difference of 6.96%, and 30 seconds for the northbound direction with a difference of 14.56%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Taliwang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Taliwang tahun ajaran 2023/2024 yang terdiri dari 3 kelas yakni kelas VIII-A 21 siswa, kelas VIII-B 22 siswa dan kelas VIII-C 25 siswa dengan sampel kelas VIII-A dan VIII-B yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar tes hasil belajar. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji-t dengan signifikansi 5%. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning yaitu 82,60 lebih besar dari rata-rata hasil belajar kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung yaitu 71,86. Hasil perhitungan uji-t separated varians diperoleh sebesar 4,729 dan dibandingkan dengan nilai sebesar 2,019. Dari hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa . Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi teorema Pythagoras kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Taliwang tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita Aljabar berdasarkan gaya kognitif field-independent (FI) dan field-dependent (FD) melalui tahapan pemecahan masalah Polya, yang meliputi memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa kembali. Matematika sebagai mata pelajaran yang wajib di setiap jenjang pendidikan, sering kali menjadi tantangan bagi siswa, terutama dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 6 siswa kelas VII SMPN 16 Mataram, yang terdiri dari 3 siswa FI dan 3 siswa FD yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes GEFT, tes pemecahan masalah, dan wawancara mendalam, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya kognitif FI memiliki kemampuan yang lebih terstruktur dalam memahami informasi, membuat perencanaan, dan menyelesaikan soal cerita dibandingkan dengan siswa FD, yang cenderung mengalami kesulitan pada tahap memahami masalah dan mengevaluasi hasil. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya pendekatan pembelajaran yang memperhatikan gaya kognitif siswa untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran matematika, khususnya dalam pemecahan masalah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between number sense and mathematical problem-solving abilities among mathematics education students. Number sense refers to an individual's ability to understand basic mathematical concepts intuitively, while problem-solving ability involves applying mathematical knowledge to solve complex problems. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through number sense tests and mathematical problem-solving tests administered to Mathematics Education students at a university. The results indicate a significant positive correlation between number sense and mathematical problem-solving ability. This suggests that students with good number sense tend to be more effective in solving mathematical problems. This research is expected to contribute to the development of mathematics education curricula by emphasizing number sense as a foundation for enhancing students' problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical problem solving in terms of mathematics learning motivation of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 17 Mataram. The type of research used is qualitative description. The subjects in this study consisted of 11 students consisting of 4 students representing high learning motivation, 4 students of medium learning motivation, and 3 students representing low learning motivation. The data collection techniques were questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The instruments used were interview guidelines, 20 learning motivation items, and 2 problem solving ability test questions. The results showed that students with high solving ability were able to fulfill the four stages of Polya. Meanwhile, students with moderate problem-solving ability were able to fulfill two or three stages of Polya and students with low problem solving ability were unable to work on all stages of Polya.

Abstract

The results of the PISA test for mathematical literacy in 2000–2018 and several previous studies show that students' critical thinking abilities in Indonesia are still relatively low. One of the reasons why students' critical thinking skills in Indonesia are low is because PISA-like problems have not been integrated evenly into mathematics learning. The aim of this research is to obtain a prototype of PISA-like mathematics problems in the context of Lombok Island that are oriented towards critical thinking skills that are valid, according to experts. This research is design research, which consists of 3 stages, namely analysis, design, and evaluation. The PISA-like problem that has been developed consists of twelve questions about space and shape, uncertainty, and data. Each set of questions consists of levels 1 to 6. Lombok Island contexts contained in the questions are Mount Rinjani, woven cloth with Subahnale and Alang motifs, the game of Dengkleng (Engklek), Gendang Beleq, and the Limbungan traditional house. At the evaluation stage, the validity of the development product is assessed by experts. The instrument used is a PISA-like problem validation sheet. The results of this research obtained a prototype of a PISA-like mathematics problem with a valid category, according to experts.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the influence of learning motivation on students mathematics learning outcomes, to find out the influence of self-confidence on students mathematics learning outcomes, and to find out the influence of learning motivation and self-confidence on students mathematics learning outcomes of grade SMP Negeri 5 Praya academic year 2023/2024. This type of research was ex post facto. The population of this research were all students of  grade as many as 86 students consisting of 3 classes, namely class VIII-1, VIII-2 and VIII-3. The sample uses was sample of saturation or total sampling where the entire population was sampled in this research. Data collection techniques in this research using questionnaire and test question. The instrument of this research was in the form of a learning motivation questionnaire, self-confidence questionnaire, and a test question of students mathematics learning outcomes of grade SMP Negeri 5 Praya. From the data analysis obtained, there was not significant influence of learning motivation on students mathematics learning effect of grade SMP Negeri 5 Praya. Then for self-confidence there was found an inflence on students mathematics learning effect of grade SMP Negeri 5 Praya with the coefficient of determination of 7,3%. The results of data analysis also showed that was a significant effect between student learning motivation and self-confidence on students mathematics learning effect of grade SMP Negeri 5 Praya with the coefficient of determination of 7,4%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write (TTW) terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas XI SMK Yarsi Mataram pada materi lingkaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimental dengan posttest only control design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMK Yarsi Mataram yang terdiri dari 3 kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, dengan sampel dua kelas, yaitu kelas F1 sebagai kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung dengan metode ceramah dan kelas F2 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write (TTW). Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa, dan tes uraian. Melalui analisis deskriptif dan uji-t dua sampel independen, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas guru dan siswa kelas kontrol sebesar 94%, aktivitas guru dan siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 96%, rata-rata skor posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 50,68, dan rata-rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 77,79. Hasil uji-t diperoleh nilai t-hitung sebesar 2,697 dan t-tabel sebesar 1,996, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Kesimpulan penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write (TTW) berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis materi lingkaran siswa kelas XI SMK Yarsi Mataram.
