Abstract

This study aims to answer the urgent need to assess the validity of the Prophet's hadith which is often used as the second source of Islamic law after the Qur'an. In scientific reality, many hadith are used without tracing the source, sanad, or assessing its quality. Therefore, this study is important to provide a systematic understanding of the takhrij hadith method. This article is categorized as a research article with a qualitative approach and uses a literature study of various primary and secondary sources, including books by Mahmud al-Tahhan and classical hadith scholars. This study reviews five main methods of takhrij hadith, namely based on the initial wording of the hadith, keywords of the matan, the first narrator, the theme of the hadith, and based on the quality status of the hadith. The results of the study show that each method has its own relevance and function that can be selected according to the needs, linguistic abilities of the researcher, and the structure of the book used. Takhrij hadith is proven to be not only a technical process of tracing, but is a methodological approach that requires precision, the ability to analyze sanad-matan, and mastery of hadith books. The conclusion of this study confirms that mastery of takhrij science is essential in maintaining the authenticity of Islamic teaching sources, especially in the academic and fatwa context. In the future, the development of a digital takhrij system and the integration of technology-based hadith indexes are very potential directions to facilitate this process on a global scale.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of speaking ethics in the perspective of the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW through a library research approach. Speaking ethics is an important part of social ethics in Islam which functions as a guideline for a Muslim's communicative behavior. The research data sources were obtained from several primary hadith books, namely: Ṣaḥīḥ Būkhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Sunan al-Tirmidhī, Sunan Abū Dāud and Sunan Ibn Mājah. The results of the study indicate that speaking ethics in the hadith include several basic principles, including the obligation to speak well or remain silent, speak effectively and not excessively, avoid lying, prioritize older or more knowledgeable people in speaking, avoid useless debates, and prohibition of cursing (backbiting) and finding fault with others. The findings of this study confirm that the quality of a Muslim's verbal communication is related to the quality of his faith. Speech etiquette serves as a moral control mechanism in social interactions and as an effort to maintain harmonious relationships between people, especially among Muslims. Therefore, the communication ethics taught in the hadith can serve as an important reference in establishing civilized and constructive Islamic communication practices within society.

Abstract

This study examines how the concept of amanah in the Prophet’s hadith is understood through the Ma’ani al-Hadith approach and contextualized within the growing phenomenon of corruption in Indonesia. The research is motivated by increasing abuses of power and declining public integrity, which indicate a weak internalization of amanah in socio-political life. Offering theoretical contribution, this study analyzes key hadiths on amanah, including its disappearance as a sign of the Last Day, its association with hypocrisy, and the prohibition of betrayal. These hadiths are examined both textually and contextually and then related to contemporary issues of public ethics and governance. Using a qualitative library-based method, the research focuses on the meaning of amanah, its relevance to corrupt behavior, and its implications for ethical leadership. The findings reveal that amanah plays a vital role in strengthening moral integrity, professional responsibility, and public accountability, which are essential foundations for corruption prevention. The study emphasizes the urgency of reinforcing amanah through religious education, moral development, and institutionalized public ethics in Indonesia.

Abstract

Hadith occupies a crucial position in Islamic scholarship as the second source of law after the Qur'an. The authenticity and validity of hadith have been a primary concern for scholars from the early generations of Islam to the contemporary era. This study aims to explain the classification of hadith based on their quality levels, namely authentic, hasan, da'if, and mawdhū' hadith, along with their implications for educational and da'wah practices. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach to various classical and modern literature on hadith. The results show that authentic and hasan hadith can be used as evidence in establishing laws and practices, while da'if hadith can only be used in fadha'ilul a'mal under certain conditions, and mawdhū' hadith must be completely rejected. Understanding this classification of hadith is important so that educators and da'i can convey Islamic teachings authentically and scientifically, and avoid deviations due to the use of weak or fabricated hadith.

Abstract

As the second source of Islamic teachings after the Qur'an, the Hadith holds a central position in shaping the laws, morals, and outlook on life of Muslims. Entering the global era, the study of Hadith faces both new challenges and opportunities. On the one hand, Orientalist criticism since the 19th century has opened up space for academic discussion, but often clashes with Islamic epistemology. Scholars' responses to this criticism have not only been defensive but also methodological innovation, the digitization of Hadith, and the strengthening of digital literacy. Another challenge arises from the currents of globalization, which have triggered the spread of fabricated Hadith, the reduction of context, and the commodification of religion, thus demanding increased literacy and communication ethics in the dissemination of Hadith. Furthermore, Hadith education plays a crucial role in strengthening interfaith dialogue in Indonesia's multicultural society by emphasizing universal human values. The prospects for Hadith studies in the global era are increasingly open through digitalization, strengthening academic programs, and interdisciplinary approaches that make Hadith more contextual and relevant to modern issues. With a strong tradition of Islamic scholarship and the experience of living in diversity, Indonesia has a significant opportunity to become a center of reference for the development of Hadith studies globally.
