Abstract

Objective: The article aims to examine the role of credit in the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and its broader impact on economic development. It focuses on understanding the importance of banking credit in a market economy and comparing key concepts related to credit functions. Method: A comparative analysis is conducted between the concepts of "role of credit" and "function of credit." The article reviews various academic perspectives on these concepts, critically analyzing and synthesizing the opinions of different authors. Additionally, it explores several functions of credit, including its redistribution and the role of credit operations in replacing real money. Results: The analysis reveals that credit plays a pivotal role in the economic development of SMEs, acting as a catalyst for growth and operational sustainability. The functions of credit, including redistribution and facilitating transactions without physical money, are essential for maintaining liquidity and promoting economic stability. Novelty: This study provides a critical analysis of existing theories on credit, offering new insights into the interplay between credit functions and its economic significance. By presenting a comprehensive view, it contributes to a better understanding of how credit can influence the growth of SMEs and economic development as a whole.

Abstract

Objective: This article aims to explore the causes and negative aspects of domestic violence, emphasizing its psychological mechanisms and examining methods of prevention. It investigates the theories surrounding aggression and violence in human behavior. Method: The study utilizes psychological theories, including Sigmund Freud's concept of "aggression capacity," the "psychological theory of aggression," and contributions from the Yale University Research Group. It also analyzes the "aggression-frustration doctrine" and "coercive power," incorporating findings from recent studies to understand human violence. Result: The research highlights the multifaceted nature of human aggression, suggesting that physical violence is often used as a last resort when other methods to achieve a desired outcome fail. The study underscores the importance of understanding the causes of domestic violence and its connection to broader criminological theories. Novelty: This article contributes a comprehensive view on the psychological and criminological aspects of domestic violence, integrating both classic and contemporary theories. It calls for a deeper understanding of various biological and social factors, offering scientifically substantiated insights for addressing and reducing domestic violence.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the role of digital banking solutions in enhancing customer acquisition and retention in competitive markets, with a focus on ALAT Bank and Moniepoint in Nigeria. It aims to bridge the knowledge gap regarding the impact of specific digital marketing strategies—such as social media, email marketing, mobile app promotions, and online ads—on customer behavior in emerging markets like Nigeria. Method: A mixed-methods approach was adopted, combining both quantitative and qualitative data to ensure a comprehensive analysis. Structured questionnaires were distributed to 600 respondents, evenly split between ALAT Bank and Moniepoint. A descriptive-causal research design was employed to investigate the relationships between various marketing strategies and customer behavior. Result: The findings indicate that social media marketing is the most effective strategy for customer retention, with ALAT Bank achieving a higher retention rate (65%) than Moniepoint (58%) due to more targeted and consistent campaigns. Email marketing significantly contributes to Moniepoint’s retention (35%), while mobile app promotions show moderate effectiveness, with Moniepoint (28%) slightly outperforming ALAT Bank (25%). Online ads, however, have minimal impact on customer retention, highlighting their limited role in fostering long-term customer relationships. Novelty: This research fills a crucial gap by providing empirical insights into how digital marketing strategies influence customer acquisition and retention in Nigeria’s banking sector. It offers actionable recommendations for banks to optimize their digital marketing efforts, emphasizing the importance of personalized social media engagement, mobile-first strategies with integrated rewards, and enhanced email campaign personalization. Additionally, it highlights the need for more interactive and targeted advertising approaches to improve customer engagement in competitive and dynamic markets.

Abstract

Objective: This article explores the concept of the social state and its impact on international relations and diplomacy. Grounded in ideals of social justice and citizen welfare, the social state model has shaped global politics. By analyzing historical examples and theoretical insights, the study aims to understand how social welfare policies influence diplomatic strategies, offering lessons that remain relevant in contemporary geopolitics. Method: A qualitative historical-comparative approach was utilized to investigate the social state as a diplomatic tool. The study analyzed academic publications, policy documents, and historical records, focusing on key examples such as post-war Western Europe’s welfare policies, the U.S. New Deal, and social reforms in Nordic countries. Data were organized based on themes like national security, economic diplomacy, and social cohesion, using qualitative analysis to assess the effectiveness of these strategies across various periods. Result: Countries with strong welfare systems, such as Sweden and Germany, effectively projected soft power and built international credibility through their social state models. Economic diplomacy, exemplified by the Marshall Plan, showed how social investments contributed to regional stability and long-term diplomatic relations. Additionally, nations that prioritized social equity and welfare often demonstrated greater internal stability, presenting a united front in international relations. The decline of the Soviet Union serves as a cautionary example of the risks of neglecting social welfare in diplomatic strategies. Novelty: The article highlights the evolving role of the social state in global diplomacy, emphasizing the importance of historical lessons in shaping modern strategies. As the interconnectedness of the world increases, the social state’s role in diplomatic efforts is expected to grow, underscoring the need for countries to adapt their strategies based on past experiences.

Abstract

Objective:  The objective of this study is to highlight the rapid growth of data generated by society through the widespread use of the Internet and the need for new technologies to process large volumes of information. The paper examines how commercial organizations, especially giant companies with access to advanced technologies, have an advantage in data processing, while smaller organizations struggle to compete. Method: The paper reviews the IDC report, "The Data Age 2025," which outlines the trends in the information technology market until 2025. It emphasizes the projections regarding the growth in data volume, particularly the 60% of information expected to be produced by commercial organizations. Additionally, the paper discusses the application of Big Data technology, specifically in Amazon's automated system that uses customer data to personalize product offerings. Result: The study finds that by 2025, the total volume of data produced will reach 175 zettabytes, with a substantial portion of it generated by commercial entities. The increasing reliance on Big Data and automated systems will give companies with access to large-scale technologies a significant advantage. Organizations without access to these technologies may face challenges in competing due to their inability to process large amounts of data effectively. Novelty: The novelty of this paper lies in the exploration of the pressing need for advanced data processing technologies in today's data-driven society. It brings attention to the role of commercial companies, like Amazon, in utilizing Big Data to create personalized customer experiences, offering a glimpse into how data technologies are shaping future market dynamics and organizational strategies.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the concept of corruption, identify key factors contributing to its existence, and analyze its negative consequences on society. By understanding these aspects, the research seeks to provide a structured framework for addressing corruption effectively. Method: A comprehensive analysis was conducted by reviewing existing literature on corruption, focusing on its systemic, cultural, and economic causes. The study categorizes corruption’s root causes and assesses its impact on governance, economic stability, and social equity. Result: The findings indicate that economic disparity, weak legal frameworks, lack of transparency, and institutional inefficiencies are the primary drivers of corruption. These factors collectively undermine governance, weaken public trust, and hinder economic growth. The study also highlights the far-reaching consequences of corruption, including reduced public services, increased inequality, and political instability. Novelty: This study offers a structured approach to analyzing corruption by systematically categorizing its causes and consequences. Unlike previous research, it provides a more integrated perspective that connects corruption’s root causes to its broader socio-economic effects. The study also suggests targeted mitigation strategies, emphasizing the role of legal reforms, institutional transparency, and public awareness in combating corruption.
