Abstract

This article aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges of applying AI in PAI learning evaluation, particularly in improving the objectivity, effectiveness, and personalization of the assessment process using a qualitative approach with a literature review method. This study examines various literature related to the implementation of AI in the field of education and religious learning evaluation. The results of the study show that AI has the potential to strengthen the evaluation process through assessment automation, real-time feedback, student progress analysis, and the provision of adaptive learning materials according to the needs of students. In addition, the use of Islamic chatbots has been proven to increase learning motivation and access to Islamic knowledge. However, the integration of AI in PAI evaluation also faces a number of challenges, such as the limited digital competence of teachers, data privacy issues, technological access gaps, algorithm subjectivity, and cultural and theological resistance to the use of technology in religious education. Therefore, infrastructure readiness, increased digital literacy, the development of ethical policies, and continuous training for educators are necessary to ensure that the use of AI remains in line with Islamic values and the main objectives of PAI, namely the formation of students' character and morals.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the Society 5.0 era has brought significant changes to the field of education, particularly in shaping the character of the younger generation. Social media platforms such as TikTok have become an integral part of adolescents’ lives, serving not only as a source of entertainment but also as a medium for learning and digital da’wah. One of the young preachers who actively utilizes TikTok for da’wah is Husyain Basyaiban, who is well known for his simple, communicative, and easily understood preaching style among students. This study aims to explore students’ perceptions of Husyain Basyaiban’s da’wah content on TikTok and to analyze its influence on the development of students’ social and moral character at MAN 1 Tuban. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving students and teachers as research informants. The findings indicate that Husyain Basyaiban’s da’wah content contributes positively to character development, particularly in fostering values of empathy, responsibility, honesty, discipline, and politeness. Through a light and youth-oriented communication style, his da’wah content effectively enhances students’ moral awareness and encourages positive behavioral changes. These findings suggest that social media can be constructively utilized as an educational tool to strengthen character education when supported by proper guidance from teachers and parents in the digital era.

Abstract

The integration of religious and general knowledge is a fundamental principle of Islamic education, but the curriculum practices in madrasah tsanawiyah (junior high school) still show disciplinary separation, which results in fragmented learning and weak integration of student competencies. This study aims to analyze the implementation of interdisciplinary curriculum management at MTs Al-Mishbah in Bandung and identify obstacles to teacher adaptation from the perspective of Islamic Education Management. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with the deputy head of the madrasah in charge of the curriculum, general subject teachers, and religious subject teachers, observation of the teaching and learning process in the classroom, and analysis of curriculum documents in the form of syllabi and lesson plans. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to find patterns and implementative meanings. The results of the study indicate that the madrasah curriculum has not been systematically integrated. The integration of disciplines is only applied to certain materials, is not supported by integrated syllabi and assessment instruments, there is minimal collaboration between teachers, and there are constraints in terms of competence, time, and managerial support. This study emphasizes that an interdisciplinary curriculum in madrasahs requires strengthening the functions of planning, organizing, and developing human resources as the core of Islamic Education Management.

Abstract

The climate in junior high schools has a significant impact on shaping students' attitudes and self-regulation abilities. This study aims to examine the relationship between students' perceptions of the school environment and their ability to manage behaviour, particularly during the transitional period of adolescence and the influence of digital media. A supportive school environment is characterised by a sense of safety, positive social relationships, and beneficial interactions, which are believed to reduce negative behaviours such as bullying and enhance students' emotional intelligence. The approach of this study emphasises how students' perceptions of the school atmosphere can serve as an indicator of their emotional and social development. The highly dynamic period of adolescence requires students to have a supportive school environment so that they can effectively manage their emotions and behaviour. Findings from this study indicate that students' ability to self-regulate is strongly related to the quality of the school climate. Challenges from the use of technology and digital media also affect adolescents' ability to control themselves, making support through group discussions and self-management training necessary. Thus, a positive school environment becomes an important foundation for fostering positive behaviour and resilience in junior high school students.

Abstract

In this fast-paced era of globalization, the formation of individuals with integrity and high moral character has become a major focus in various disciplines. Failure in character education is often linked to an increase in social problems and ethical degradation in society. In Islam, moral education is not only social ethics, but also a manifestation of faith that encompasses vertical and horizontal relationships, making it a major pillar in character building. This study aims to examine in depth the relevance of moral education in the Islamic perspective as an irreplaceable foundation in the character-building process. The focus of the study includes an analysis of basic principles, identification of effective methods of formation in accordance with the Qur'an and Sunnah, and the implementation of moral values in the contemporary education system. The method used is library research, which relies on analysis of various writings and theories from relevant literature (reference books, journal articles, proceedings, and documents). Data is analyzed using content analysis, which includes the stages of problem identification, framework development, methodology, analysis, and data interpretation. Moral education, as conceptualized by Imam Al-Ghazali, is the cultivation of character traits in the soul that result in good deeds coming easily. The methods used to shape this character include direct teaching (the example set by the Prophet Muhammad) and indirect teaching (wisdom stories), as well as early cultivation through the instilling of faith and piety. Moral education is relevant in shaping a character that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also spiritually and emotionally mature, capable of being an agent of positive change, and possessing moral resilience in the midst of globalization. Moral education in Islam is an irreplaceable fundamental foundation in shaping the character of students to be whole (insan kamil), have integrity, and be highly moral. Further research is recommended to empirically examine the implementation of moral education at various levels of education and measure its concrete impact on changes in student behavior.
