Edutecno: Educational Technology Journal is a peer-reviewed open-access journal published by PT Ininnawa Paramacitra Edukasi, dedicated to advancing scholarly and practical knowledge in the field of educational technology. As a multidisciplinary publication, Edutecno provides a platform for researchers, educators, and practitioners to explore the integration of technology in teaching, learning, curriculum development, and instructional innovation. Published twice a year, in JUNI and December, the journal accepts manuscripts written in either English or Indonesian. Submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process, ensuring academic rigor and publication integrity. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including instructional design, digital learning environments, educational media, technology in curriculum and pedagogy, e-assessment, inclusive technology, educational communication, and the application of emerging technologies such as AI, big data, blockchain, cloud computing, and IoT in education.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology and information has had a significant impact on the use of media in the learning process. ICT-based learning media (Information and Communication Technology) are currently developing in various forms, one of which is audio-visual media based on the Prezi application. The use of interactive learning media is expected to increase students' interest in learning and help them understand the material more effectively. The aim of this study is to develop a video learning resource based on the Prezi application for environmental pollution material. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D), with the research instrument being a media validation sheet. Validasi ini dilakukan oleh dosen Pendidikan IPA untuk mengevaluasi aspek tampilan, isi, keterbacaan, dan kelayakan dari media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan. The results of the validation showed that the Prezi-based video learning media received a rating of 'good' in 70% of cases, 'very good' in 15% of cases, and 'poor' in 10% of cases. These results indicate that the developed learning materials are of good quality and suitable for use in the learning process. Therefore, Prezi-based video learning media can be an alternative, innovative and interactive teaching method for environmental pollution topics, supporting the creation of more engaging and effective learning processes for students

Abstract

Despite the rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into language education, the psychological factors driving AI acceptance among secondary-level learners remain poorly understood, particularly in developing-country contexts where ethical AI governance frameworks are underdeveloped. This study examined the effect of Self-Efficacy (SE) on Perceived Ease of Use (PE) and Perceived Usefulness (PU) of AI tools within the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework, among junior and senior high school foreign language learners in Indonesia. Using a quantitative, non-experimental survey design, data were collected from 63 secondary school students who had direct prior experience using AI-based language tools. The instrument adapted Davis’ (1986) TAM questionnaire and Bandura’s (1997) self-efficacy scale and was analysed via Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 4.0. Measurement model results confirmed satisfactory reliability (CR ≥ 0.899; Cronbach’s α ≥ 0.826) and validity (AVE ≥ 0.748; HTMT < 0.90) across all constructs. Structural model analysis revealed that SE significantly and positively predicted both PE (β = 0.660, large effect: f² = 0.772) and PU (β = 0.591, large effect: f² = 0.536), with the model explaining 43.6% and 34.9% of the variance in PE and PU, respectively. These findings extend TAM by establishing self-efficacy as a robust psychological antecedent of AI technology acceptance and constitute the first study to integrate ethical AI use, a self-efficacy predictor model, and the secondary foreign language education context in Indonesia. Implications for curriculum design, teacher training, and inclusive AI policy are discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of digital kitab kuning usage in the implementation of bahtsul masail at Pondok Pesantren Al Luqmaniyyah Yogyakarta and its implications for knowledge transmission and scholarly authority within Islamic boarding schools. This research employed a qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The findings reveal that digital Islamic classical texts are utilized to accelerate reference searches, broaden access to classical literature, and improve the efficiency of deliberative forums. However, digital references remain under the epistemological supervision of ustaz through a verification mechanism of legal arguments. The study identifies a dual- authority pattern in which technology functions as a reference-search tool while ustaz maintain authority over interpretative validity. In addition, the research finds a cross-referencing hybrid practice combining digital and printed texts in legal analysis. These findings indicate that digitalization in pesantren represents not a shift away from tradition, but an epistemological adaptation that sustains Islamic scholarly traditions in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using instructional video media in the teaching and learning process for the Natural Sciences (IPA) subject in grade 5A at SD Inpres BTN IKIP 1. The background of this study is driven by the importance of visual media in bridging students' understanding of abstract science concepts, along with the need to enhance students' learning motivation and enthusiasm in the classroom. This study employs a quantitative descriptive method through a direct observation approach conducted by the researcher. Data were collected using an observation sheet that encompasses seven main indicators of effectiveness: speed of material comprehension, achievement of learning objectives, ability to answer reflection questions, increase in enthusiasm and motivation, concretization of abstract visualizations, student memory retention, and short assignment results. The results indicated that the video media obtained a total observation score of 24 out of a maximum score of 28, or an effectiveness percentage of 85.7%, categorized as "Very Effective". The highest level of effectiveness was observed in the indicators of increased student enthusiasm, ability to answer reflection questions, and visualization of concrete concepts, each of which achieved the maximum score. In conclusion, the use of video media shows a high indication of effectiveness when integrated into the grade 5A Natural Sciences learning process. Based on the observation results, this media is considered capable of supporting enhanced visual appeal, motivating students, and facilitating their cognitive understanding of the learning materials.

Abstract

Tingginya angka kegagalan akademik merupakan salah satu indikator signifikan yang memengaruhi kualitas dan akreditasi institusi perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbandingan algoritma Machine Learning dalam memprediksi performa akademik dan merumuskan strategi cara mengatasi mahasiswa yang teridentifikasi berisiko gagal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Systematic Literature Review (SLR) terhadap literatur yang dipublikasikan antara tahun 2019-2025. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa algoritma Decision Tree (C4.5) merupakan model paling optimal untuk pengelompokkan risiko dengan tingkat akurasi mencapai hingga 97.80% yang mampu menangani dalam data administratif yang bersifat kategorikal. Sementara itu, analisis regresi linear menunjukkan adanya korelasi linear yang kuat antara perilaku belajar mahasiswa dengan capaian akademik, variabel presensi juga memberikan kontribusi sebesar 94% (R2 = 0,94) terhadap akurasi prediksi. Tidak hanya itu temuan lain mengungkapkan bahwa integrasi data real time dari Learning Management System (LMS) secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan presisi pada model dibandingkan dengan penggunaan data historis statis. Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan hasil prediksi melalui Early Warning System yang diintegrasikan dengan bimbingan akademik intensif oleh Dosen Pembimbing Akademik (DPA) merupakan solusi efektif untuk menekan angka kegagalan studi secara dini dan objektif.
