Abstract

This community-based research aims to implement and evaluate a simple automatic sheep waste disposal system at Ratu Domba Indonesia, Tamansari Village, Wuluhan District, Jember Regency. The program was carried out starting on June 1, 2025, using a sheepfold measuring 4 meters in length and 1.5 meters in width, housing seven crossbred sheep aged five to six months. The implementation method included direct installation, resource management, and periodic evaluation to assess cleanliness, efficiency, and ease of waste handling. The results indicate that the installation effectively maintained a dry and clean condition beneath the sheepfold throughout all evaluation stages. Minor technical adjustments, such as adding wire supports to prevent solid waste spillage, were required during the implementation period but did not reduce the system’s overall performance. Farmers reported reduced cleaning time and improved convenience in managing both feces and urine. The findings demonstrate that a simple and low-cost technological innovation can significantly improve sanitation and operational efficiency in small-scale sheep farming. This innovation has the potential to be replicated and further developed to support sustainable livestock waste management in rural farming systems.

Abstract

This community service activity focuses on training and mentoring website management to improve the digital capacity of administrative operators at PT. Produktif Citrasukses, an outsourcing service company that manages the website www.diklatsatpam.com. This program is designed as a response to the gap between the quality of operational services and the limitations of human resource competencies in managing digital assets effectively. Initial assessments showed that the website was not being optimally utilized as a strategic communication medium due to inconsistent content management, a lack of governance standards, and the technical and managerial limitations of operators. The training program was implemented through hands-on practice covering the management of the main page, company profiles, news publications, gallery organization, and website theme customization. The evaluation results showed an increase in operator competence in content updates, more structured information presentation, and better visual consistency. This program also increased managerial awareness of the strategic role of websites in strengthening professionalism and public trust, as well as supporting the digital transformation of outsourcing service organizations.

Abstract

The development of information technology requires educational institutions to have informative and interactive digital portals. This community service aims to optimize the MA Daarul Hikmah website as an effective information center by integrating alumni directory features and a dynamic organizational structure. The implementation methods included needs analysis, website development assistance, content management training, and implementation of new features. The results of the activity showed a transformation of the website from a static and basic one to a dynamic, responsive information platform with two main features: (1) an Alumni Directory that allows alumni to register and connect, and (2) an Organizational Structure Page that displays the profiles and main tasks of each work unit. An evaluation through a user satisfaction questionnaire (teachers and staff) showed a significant increase in ease of access to information and perception of school transparency. The conclusion of this activity is that website optimization has succeeded in creating a more transparent means of communication, strengthening the alumni network, and enhancing the school's digital image. A sustainable recommendation is to form a website management team and provide regular training to ensure continuity of information updates.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the role of health education integrated with Healthy Heart Exercise in improving cardiorespiratory health among older adults in Bandar Lampung City. The research employed a community based intervention using structured aerobic exercise combined with educational sessions tailored to elderly physiological characteristics. Cardiorespiratory parameters including resting heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and functional walking capacity were measured before and after the intervention to assess physiological adaptation. The results demonstrated consistent improvements across all indicators reflecting enhanced cardiovascular efficiency, better vascular regulation, and improved respiratory function. Beyond physiological outcomes, the educational component increased knowledge, motivation, and adherence, supporting sustainable physical activity behavior. Integrating exercise and education within a supportive community setting effectively optimized biological and behavioral responses. These findings indicate that Healthy Heart Exercise combined with health education is a feasible and effective promotive and preventive strategy to improve cardiorespiratory health in older adults, emphasizing the importance of educational reinforcement in community based activity programs nationwide.

Abstract

The increasing frequency and complexity of flood events at the village and urban neighborhood levels require mitigation approaches that extend beyond purely structural interventions and incorporate local capacity and community participation. This community engagement program aimed to develop and implement a community-based technical recommendation framework for flood mitigation through an empirical–participatory approach. The activities were conducted in several flood-prone urban villages in Sungai Serut District, Bengkulu City. Methods included participatory field surveys, flood-prone area mapping, focus group discussions, and qualitative evaluation of both processes and outcomes. The findings indicate that local drainage systems exhibit limited capacity due to inadequate dimensions, sedimentation, and insufficient routine maintenance, which are closely linked to land-use changes and community environmental practices. Active community involvement significantly enhanced the accuracy of problem identification, strengthened the social legitimacy of technical recommendations, and encouraged positive behavioral changes in environmental management. Furthermore, integrating the recommendations into local planning, budgeting, and monitoring mechanisms increased the likelihood of consistent implementation.

Abstract

This community-based empirical study examines the implementation of BERKATA (Bersama Komunikasi Merata), a participatory intervention integrating face-to-face dialogue and social media interaction to strengthen teacher–student interpersonal communication at SMPN 13 Depok. The program was initiated through a needs assessment using surveys and interviews to measure the magnitude of communication problems within the school community. Baseline findings indicated that communication issues were primarily caused by delayed information delivery (57.9%) and inadequate communication media (25.7%), leading to confusion and recurrent misunderstandings. The intervention was conducted over two weeks through two structured dialogue sessions and continuous interactive content dissemination via the school’s Instagram platform (@Galasresmi). Evaluation employed a mixed approach, combining post-program surveys, direct observation, social media engagement documentation, and brief interviews to capture behavioral and attitudinal changes. Results suggest a positive shift in communication openness and participation, where 53.3% of students agreed and 46.7% strongly agreed that the dialogue sessions increased their confidence to express communication concerns. Teachers also demonstrated improved receptiveness toward student feedback. The findings highlight the necessity of integrating relational and digital communication strategies to achieve sustainable improvements.

Abstract

Coral reef degradation on Samalona Island, Makassar City, has occurred as a result of anthropogenic pressures and changes in the marine environment. This condition directly affects the decline of ecological functions and the carrying capacity of marine ecosystems. This community service activity aims to rehabilitate coral reefs through a coral transplantation method based on collaboration between higher education institutions and the diving community. The methods employed include site surveys, fragmentation of healthy corals, attachment of coral fragments to artificial substrate media, as well as arrangement and tagging for monitoring purposes. The activity was conducted on November 25, 2025, in the waters of Samalona Island, involving lecturers from the Fisheries Science Study Program of Wira Bhakti University and partners from GGI SCUBA. The results show the successful installation of coral transplantation structures with hundreds of live coral fragments that have the potential to form new habitats for marine biota. This program is expected to gradually increase live coral cover and support the sustainability of marine ecosystems and marine tourism. This activity represents the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education in supporting coastal environmental conservation.

Abstract

Samalona Island is one of the leading marine tourism destinations in Makassar City that faces coastal environmental pollution problems due to the accumulation of waste, particularly plastic debris. Intensive tourism activities, limited waste management facilities, and low environmental awareness among local communities and visitors are the main factors contributing to the decline in coastal environmental quality. This community service program aims to improve the cleanliness of the island’s environment and to enhance the environmental awareness of both the local community and tourists regarding the importance of protecting coastal ecosystems through the Clean Island Action program. The methods employed include beach and shallow-water clean-up activities, environmental education, and evaluation of participant involvement and program outcomes. The activity was conducted on December 6, 2025, on Samalona Island, involving lecturers, students, local residents, and environmental volunteers. The results indicate a reduction in waste volume in coastal and beach areas, as well as increased participation and awareness among participants regarding waste management. This program has generated positive ecological and social impacts and has the potential to serve as a community-based model for sustainable coastal environmental management.

Abstract

This community service-based empirical study examines activities at the Wagah Border through the integrated perspectives of national security, sociology of law, and military law. Using participatory field observation, structured interviews with military personnel and visitors, and qualitative document analysis, the research explores how ceremonial and security practices function as instruments of state sovereignty, legal order, and social regulation. The findings indicate that the Beating Retreat Ceremony operates not merely as a symbolic performance but as a structured security mechanism governed by hierarchical command, regulated force expression, and institutional accountability. Patterns of public compliance and coordinated inter-agency control reflect the internalization of legal norms within both military institutions and civilian audiences. The border space thus emerges as a socio-legal arena where national identity, deterrence signaling, and rule-based discipline converge in a controlled yet highly performative environment. The study demonstrates that military law and security governance at Wagah contribute to regional stability by institutionalizing order, reinforcing legal legitimacy, and fostering civic awareness of state authority within a geopolitically sensitive boundary zone.
