Abstract

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. In Indonesia, this sport has a high enthusiasm. The importance of providing nutrition education through nutrition counseling can directly impact the health and performance of athletes. If knowledge and attitudes towards nutrition are inadequate and understanding the nutritional role of various types of food is not appropriate, this can cause health and fitness problems. This study aimed to determine the effect of providing nutritional counseling on attitudes about nutrition in SSB Kancil Mas athletes. This research is experimental with a one-group pre- and post-test design conducted at SSB Kancil Mas Karawang. Respondents of this study amounted to 15 people. The respondents in this study were selected using a purposive random sampling technique, and data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Test. The results showed a significant difference in attitude values before and after providing nutritional counseling (p<0.05). Providing nutritional counseling improves attitudes about nutrition in SSB Kancil Mas Karawang athletes.

Abstract

The Ministry of Education and Culture established the Healthy School Campaign to address nutrition and health issues in school children. SMPN 191 is the only junior high school in West Jakarta chosen to run the Healthy School Campaign Program because it uniquely provides educational services. This study aims to evaluate the Healthy School Campaign program at SMPN 191 West Jakarta. This research is descriptive qualitative research using the CIPP evaluation method. Informants were selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that in the context component, informants already knew the background, objectives, and benefits of implementing Healthy School Campaign Program and were familiar with the Healthy School Campaign Program 2023 guidelines. The input components that are not yet appropriate are funds and available infrastructure. The process component that is not yet appropriate is implementation, because some programs are not routinely implemented and lack supervision. The product component shows that the healthy nutrition program is well implemented, the physical health program is exceptionally well implemented, and healthy immunization is not. The researcher's suggestion for SMPN 191 Jakarta is to run the program regularly and increase program supervision.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most common type, especially in the elderly. Older people are more at risk of experiencing elevated blood sugar levels, so they are strongly encouraged to adhere to diet therapy to control their blood sugar levels. However, 85% of older adults with diabetes who conduct examinations at the Tlogosari Wetan Health Center have uncontrolled blood sugar levels caused by poor diet. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with dietary compliance in older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Tlogosari Wetan Health Center. This type of research is observational analytic research with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples in this study was 61 respondents who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The data analysis used was univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The results showed that there was a relationship between the duration of type 2 diabetes mellitus (p value = 0.036), the level of knowledge (p value = 0.014), the frequency of participation in nutrition counseling (p value = 0.022) and the level of family support (p value = 0.023) with the level of dietary compliance in older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Tlogosari Wetan Health Center. There is no relationship between gender (p value = 1.000), education level (p value = 0.421), and the level of support from health workers (p value = 0.343) with the level of dietary compliance in older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Tlogosari Wetan Health Center.

Abstract

Background: Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) is rich in carbohydrates and fiber, while anchovies (Stolephorus sp.) are rich in protein, calcium, and iron. Both of these foods can be processed into cookies as a snack that has the potential to support the growth and development of stunted children. Objective: This study aims to determine the acceptability test and analyze the nutritional content of cookies that substitute breadfruit flour (Artocarpus altilis) and anchovy flour (Stolephorus sp.) as snacks for stunted toddlers. Method: This study used an experimental design with three treatments: F1 (85 gr breadfruit flour: 15 gr anchovy flour), F2 (75 gr breadfruit flour: 15 gr anchovy flour), and F3 (65 gr breadfruit flour: 35 gr anchovy flour). This test went through 2 stages: the organoleptic test for acceptability and the nutrient content test for protein, carbohydrates, calcium, and iron. Results: The study reveals that the most favored cookies have color, aroma, texture, and taste, specifically the F1 formulation (85 grams of breadfruit flour and 15 grams of anchovy flour). The Pontianak State Polytechnic Laboratory conducted a nutritional content test of the preferred formulation, revealing protein (6.67%), carbohydrates (50.10%), calcium (6.20%), and iron (0.18 mg). Conclusion: Cookies with breadfruit flour and anchovy flour substitution affect the acceptability of color and aroma, but there is no effect on the acceptability of texture and taste.

Abstract

Underweight is when a child's weight is below the average range for their age group. The prevalence of underweight toddlers in Indonesia in 2023 reached 12.9%. Underweight is directly caused by food intake. This study aims to determine the relationship between macronutrient intake and the incidence of underweight in toddlers at Posyandu Bangun Sari Indah 6. This research method uses a cross-sectional research design. The population in this study consisted of toddlers aged> 6-59 months, with a total of 135 toddlers. The technique for selecting research subjects used a purposive sample of 48 toddlers. Data collection of food intake used a 2x24-hour food recall form, and underweight data used anthropometric measurements of BB/U. The data analysis technique was descriptive, using the Spearman rank correlation test and the logistic regression test. The results showed a relationship between energy intake (p = 0.003), carbohydrate intake (p = 0.004), protein intake (p = 0.005), and fat intake (p = 0.025) with the incidence of underweight in toddlers. The logistic regression test analysis showed that energy, carbohydrate, protein, and fat intake were not significantly related to the incidence of underweight.

Abstract

Nutritional status describes fulfilling nutritional needs through the intake and use of nutrients. Nutritional status is influenced by maternal nutritional knowledge, energy intake, and the status of working mothers. This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal nutrition knowledge and energy intake in lunchboxes and the nutritional status of children in the kindergarten of the Pengharapan Sejati Indonesia foundation. The design of this study is cross-sectional; the sample uses a total sampling technique of 46 respondents. This research was carried out in September 2024 - January 2025 at the Yayasan Pengharapan Sejati Indonesia. The data analysis was descriptive, Spearman's rank, and logistic regression. The results showed that the nutritional knowledge of the medium category of mothers was 23 respondents (50%). Energy intake for 25 children (54.3%) was in the low category. The nutritional status of malnourished children was 25 children (54.3%). The rank-spearman test results on the maternal nutrition knowledge variable were obtained with a p-value of 0.000. The variable energy intake in the lunchbox obtained a p-value of 0.002. The results of the logistical regression analysis of the nutritional knowledge variable with the nutritional status of the child obtained a p-value of 0.002 with an Exp B of 1.102, which means that every 1 point increase in nutritional knowledge provides a 1.102 times greater chance of a normal child nutritional status. The variable of energy intake in lunchboxes with nutritional status was obtained with a p-value of 0.264, meaning there was no relationship between the variable of energy intake in lunchboxes and nutritional status. This study concludes that there was a relationship between maternal nutrition knowledge and child nutritional status, and there was no relationship between energy intake in lunchboxes and children's nutritional status.
