Abstract

This study examined the implementation of Islamic law in the Riau-Lingga rumbia plantation sale and purchase Agreement coded EAP153/10/2 which was stored in the Endangered Archives Programme (EAP) digital catalogue, British Library. This research showed the principles of Islamic law such as the pillars and conditions for valid sale and purchase, as well as the role of the judges and witnesses which were internalized in administrative documents during the Riau-Lingga Sultanate in the 20th century. The purpose of this study was to analyze the application of the law of sale and purchase based on an Islamic perspective through a study of philology and fiqh muamalah according to the Imam Syafi’i mazhab. The research used a descriptive-qualitative approach with philological methods to present texts and analysis of Islamic law to assess the validity of transactions according to Sharia. The results of the study showed that the letter had fulfilled the pillars and requirements of a valid sale and purchase, which can be seen through the presence of a contract, ijab kabul, identification of the seller and buyer, object and exchange value, and supporting validity by involving the role of the judge and witnesses. The novelty of this research lay in the integration of philological studies and Islamic law in analyzing historical documents in the scope of the old Malay manuscript treasury. The implications of this research strengthened the understanding that Islamic law had played a dominant role in the local Malay legal system in the past and could serve as a reference for legal policies based on local wisdom today.

Abstract

This study critically examines the Zionist territorial claims over Palestine and offers a Qur'anic critique within the framework of epistemic counter-hegemony. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology operationalized through the PRISMA protocol, this study conducted a systematic search and screening of literature from selected academic databases. The study incorporates primary sources such as the Qur'an, classical tafsir, and historical documents, alongside secondary data from academic and institutional reports. The findings reveal that Zionist claims contradict Islamic justice, which views land ownership as a divine trust, rather than an exclusive ethnic or religious right. The ecological destruction and forced displacement carried out by Zionism further violate the Islamic principles of justice and social responsibility. This study contributes to the deconstruction of the colonial Zionist narrative by suggesting an alternative model of collective sovereignty based on equality. Ultimately, the research proposes that genuine sovereignty is achieved not through territorial partition, but through cooperative stewardship of land, water, and history, grounded in the principle of tawhid, symbolizing cosmic unity.

Abstract

This study aims to provide both a concise and in-depth discussion of the science approach within the context of Islamic economics. Using a qualitative method based on library research, this study examines recent academic literature to identify research gaps and propose novelty in the construction of Islamic economic epistemology. The findings indicate that the epistemology of Islamic economics is grounded in divine revelation (the Qur’an and Sunnah), integrated with reason and empirical reality; its ontology emphasizes that economic activities are acts of worship and a trust to prosper the earth; while its axiology is oriented toward falah (worldly and eternal well-being), justice, maslahah (public interest), and sustainability. These findings reveal that Islamic economics is tauhidi (monotheistic), integrative, and transformative, serving not only as an alternative but also as a conceptual and practical solution to contemporary socio-economic challenges. The implementation of Islamic instruments such as productive zakat, waqf, and green sukuk demonstrates the practical relevance of Islamic economics in establishing a just, inclusive, and sustainable system.

Abstract

It has been observed that some Qur'an memorizers do not demonstrate the expected performance. Some of them merely memorise without ensuring harmony between the quality of their deeds and noble character on the one hand, and the progress of their memorisation on the other. The cause is the inadequacy of tarbiyah ruhiyah which effectively internalizes the values contained in the Qur'an within oneself. This study aimed to explore the tarbiyah ruhiyah curriculum implemented at Ma'had Tahfizhul Qur'an Isy Karima by employing a descriptive qualitative research method in the form of a field study. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The collected data was analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The finding indicated that the Qur'an memorization education concept at Ma'had Tahfizhul Qur'an Isy Karima was considered ideal, as it was supported by a strong tarbiyah ruhiyah curriculum. This curriculum encompassed objectives, contents, methods, and evaluation. Therefore, this curriculum is recommended for implementation in Islamic educational institutions focusing on Qur'an memorization, particularly those based in Islamic boarding schools, as its design is derived from the Islamic boarding school system.

Abstract

By utilizing visual media such as videos and picture cards, this method aims to enhance students' understanding of Arabic vocabulary. This study was conducted at As-Salma Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang, involving class A as the control group and class B as the experimental group. Using a quantitative approach and quasi-experimental design, the instruments employed were multiple-choice test, and data analysis was performed using the t-test. The results demonstrate that contextual learning based on visual-spatial intelligence successfully aids students understanding arabic vocabulary. Class B achieved a perfect score of 28.57%, while the control class had no students reached a perfect score. Additionally, 14.29% of students in class B required further guidance, whereas 38.1% of students in the control class needed assistance. The t-test results showed a t-value of 3.40 with a p-value of 0.0008, which is lower than the significance level. This indicates that contextual learning based on visual-spatial intelligence is effective to improved the understanding of Arabic vocabulary among beginner students.

Abstract

Starting from the researcher’s interest in the interpretation of the Quran and in refuting the doubts raised about it, the researcher decided to address a topic related to refuting the doubts found in the interpretation of Surah Al-Baqarah, relying on the methodology adopted by Imam Ibn Uthaymin in his works. The choice of this topic is due to its great importance in clarifying the scientific method of dealing with theological and intellectual doubts facing the contemporary Muslim, as well as the scholarly, critical, and precise dimensions found in Ibn Uthaymin’s interpretation. The researcher aims to highlight Ibn Uthaymin’s efforts in refuting doubts, analyzing their content, clarifying the methods of response he employed, and examining how consistent they are with the Salafi methodology in exegesis. The researcher relied on the analytical inductive approach in dealing with the topic, collecting the passages related to doubts from the interpretation of Surah Al-Baqarah, analyzing them, and extracting the principles and methods used in addressing them. Among the most significant findings reached by the researcher is that Ibn Uthaymin’s approach — may Allah have mercy on him — was characterized by a balance between scholarly precision and clarity in presentation, making his refutation of doubts a scientific model that can be utilized in the fields of Quranic exegesis, creed, and Islamic preaching.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the main obstacles in creating an Arabic language environment and to discover solutions to them in light of Vygotsky’s theory. The approach used in this study is qualitative. The researcher collected data from various sources and employed multiple tools for data collection, including interviews, observations, and document reviews. The researcher obtained the following results: by adopting Vygotsky’s theory, especially the concepts of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), scaffolding, and the importance of social interaction, this study identified appropriate solutions to overcome these challenges, including: (1). The limited use of Arabic in students’ daily lives. (2). The lack of interaction with native Arabic speakers. (3). The diverse motivations of students in learning Arabic. (4). Difficulties in understanding Arabic structure and grammar. The proposed solutions to address these challenges include: (1). Scaffolding – teachers should provide gradual guidance by applying Arabic grammar in speech and requiring its use in certain situations, such as classrooms and all institute activities. (2). Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) – applying role-play methods, where students practice becoming speakers in contexts such as interviews, presentations, or conversations in a communication style similar to native speakers. (3). Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) – forming small study groups, where students with better understanding guide those still in the early stages of learning, thereby increasing motivation through interaction with more proficient peers. (4). Social interaction – employing discussion-based learning methods, such as Q&A among students and practical exercises in the form of conversations to strengthen their understanding of Arabic grammar. The application of the ZPD concept allows students to develop their Arabic language skills through guidance from teachers or more competent peers. At the same time, scaffolding provides gradual support until students can use the language independently. Moreover, social interaction is considered a key element in forming an effective language environment.

Abstract

This study aims to contextualize the ethical principles of the Prophet Muhammad’s da‘wah as articulated in Q.S. An-Nahl [16]:125, Q.S. Ali Imran [3]:104, and Q.S. Fussilat [41]:33 through a comparative analysis of Tafsir Al-Maraghi and Tafsir Al-Misbah, and to examine their relevance to contemporary digital da‘wah practices. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with a literature-based inquiry, this research analyzes classical and modern exegetical sources. The findings demonstrate that the three core principles of Islamic propagation bil hikmah, al-mau‘izhah al-hasanah, and al-mujādalah billatī hiya aḥsanretain strong applicability within today’s digital environment, which is characterized by rapid information flow, high interactivity, and susceptibility to misinformation and polarization. Both tafsirs emphasize wisdom, moral exemplarity, and constructive dialogue as ethical foundations of a humanistic and adaptive approach to da‘wah. This study concludes that Qur’anic ethics serve not only as a normative framework but also as a practical guide to uphold integrity in digital religious communication. The results imply the necessity of digital da‘wah ethics literacy among preachers so that religious messages can be delivered accurately, responsibly, and for the public good.
