Abstract

This community service program aims to improve vocational school students' understanding of taxation through education based on local wisdom integrated with digital literacy. This activity was carried out at SMK Negeri 11 Bekasi using an interactive training approach and digital taxation simulations such as e-Filing and e-Billing. The program also integrates local values such as mutual cooperation, social justice, and collective responsibility to provide a relevant social context regarding the importance of taxes. The evaluation results obtained from this activity show a significant positive impact on students' understanding. The role and support of SMK Negeri 11 Bekasi facilitated the smooth running of this activity. Additionally, there has been a positive change in students' attitudes and interest in the world of taxation, including career interest in this field. This approach supports the achievement of SDG 4 (quality education) through partnerships between universities, schools, and the community, and plays a role in creating a young generation that is tax-aware and digitally literate.

Abstract

Moral ethics can be defined as a set of principles or rules that govern individual behavior in educational relationships. In the context of education, moral ethics plays a crucial role in shaping how students interact with one another, how they respect teachers, and how they understand and apply the values taught. Educational ethics encompasses more than just academic aspects; it also teaches the values that permeate social life. Good moral ethics can help individuals become honest, responsible, and compassionate toward others. Ethical and moral education plays a crucial role in shaping students' character and personality. Ethics, as a collection of values and principles that govern human behavior, and morality as a view of right and wrong, serve as the foundation for shaping students' attitudes, responsibility, and integrity in their daily lives. Through education that instills values such as honesty, justice, empathy, and social responsibility, students are not only equipped with intellectual knowledge but also shaped into individuals with morals and ethics. Thus, education produces not only academically intelligent individuals but also individuals with noble character. Through educational ethics, we can realize a more harmonious, just, and respectful education.

Abstract

Technological literacy is an essential skill in the digital era, yet introducing programming concepts to early childhood learners requires approaches tailored to their cognitive development. This community service program aimed to introduce the basics of programming through the Unplugged Coding method—teaching computational thinking without digital devices—at Bayt Al Fath Sidoarjo. The program employed interactive games and STEAM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) worksheets designed to be modular and accessible for both teachers and parents. The implementation was conducted in three stages: preparation of teaching materials, classroom activities with children, and evaluation through participant observation and formative assessment. Results indicated increased interest and understanding among children in logical sequencing, pattern recognition, and problem-solving. Teachers reported that the worksheets were easy to use and adaptable for independent teaching. This initiative also supported sustainability planning by enabling the development of self-directed learning materials and potential integration into thematic curricula grounded in Islamic values. The program is expected to serve as an innovative, contextual model for early digital literacy education that respects child development principles while equipping learners with essential 21st-century skills.

Abstract

This community service project, titled International Collaboration in Business English Learning: Enhancing Global Communication Skills of Polytechnic Students, was conducted by Doris Yolanda Saragih, S.Pd., M.Pd., in collaboration with Pauline De Goeje (Leiden University) and Mart Vogel (Utrecht University). The activity took place at Politeknik Bisnis Indonesia on September 30, 2025, involving 60 students across two interactive sessions. The main objective was to strengthen students’ Business English competence and cross-cultural communication skills in preparation for participation in global business environments. A production-oriented and communicative approach was applied through case discussions, role-play simulations, and digital-based learning to enhance students’ speaking, writing, and negotiation proficiency. The international collaboration component enriched the experience by providing authentic exposure to professional business contexts and global cultural perspectives. The findings revealed that students showed notable improvement in confidence, vocabulary mastery, and motivation to use English for professional communication. Furthermore, the project contributed to developing employability and intercultural awareness, supporting the institution’s mission to produce globally competitive graduates. Overall, this community service initiative demonstrated that sustainable collaboration with international experts can significantly enhance Business English learning outcomes and prepare students to communicate effectively in global business settings.

Abstract

Waste management socialization is one form of implementing the Ecology course learning that aims to connect students' theoretical understanding with real practice in the community. This activity is carried out in response to increasing environmental problems due to the continuously growing volume of waste and the community's limited knowledge about sustainable management patterns. Through the socialization program, students apply ecological concepts such as material recycling, sustainability principles, the interrelationship of organisms with their environment, and the impact of human activities on ecosystems. The socialization is conducted using interactive lectures, group discussions, demonstrations of separating organic and inorganic waste, and simple compost-making practices. This participatory approach is designed so that the community not only understands the theory but is also able to practice it in daily life. The results of the activities show an increase in public knowledge and awareness about the importance of waste management from the source, including efforts to reduce single-use plastic, implement household waste sorting, and process organic waste into compost. In addition, these activities help build collective motivation to maintain environmental cleanliness, create healthier living spaces, and support the development of environmentally friendly behaviors. For students, these activities provide hands-on experience in applying ecological theory while enhancing communication, collaboration, and environmental analysis skills. Thus, waste management socialization not only contributes positively to the community but also strengthens the quality of ecological education as a relevant and practical science in addressing contemporary environmental issues.
