Jurnal Bersama Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang disingkat SAMAMAS adalah jurnal pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) yang memuat hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dari berbagai bidang multidisiplin, seperti pendidikan, kesehatan, teknologi, sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan. Jurnal ini menjadi wadah publikasi bagi dosen, peneliti, dan praktisi yang berkontribusi secara nyata dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat. Diterbitkan oleh Yayasan Literasi Sains Indonesia, jurnal ini terbit empat kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Maret, Juni, September, Desember. Tujuannya adalah untuk menyebarluaskan hasil kegiatan pengabdian yang inovatif dan aplikatif, serta mendorong kolaborasi lintas disiplin dalam memecahkan permasalahan riil di masyarakat. Seluruh artikel yang diterbitkan telah melalui proses review untuk menjamin kualitas dan relevansi.

Abstract

This activity is part of the Community Service Program aimed at introducing the basics of web programming to students of SMA Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. The program was initiated due to the limited access and knowledge of students regarding web development technology, despite the high demand for such competencies in facing digital transformation across various sectors. The material was delivered interactively through lectures, live coding demonstrations, open discussions, and simple case studies. Topics covered include the basic structure of web development such as Frontend, Backend, and Databeses as well as three main technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The activity was designed not only to help students understand the theoretical concepts but also to allow them to see practical implementations firsthand. Evaluation was conducted through observation of student participation and discussions, which indicated that the students were very enthusiastic, actively asked questions, and some were even interested in continuing to learn independently. These results demonstrate that this Program activity is effective in improving digital literacy and increasing student interest in web programming. It is hoped that similar activities can be conducted continuously to faster a generation ready to face future technological challenges

Abstract

Mental health in adolescents is no longer a taboo issue, especially among teenagers, as this period is a unique transition period where individuals experience physical and psychological changes from childhood to adulthood. Healthcare services for adolescents must be addressed in two aspects: treating them as children with inherent rights, including guardianship provisions, and treating them as individuals approaching adulthood with several accompanying rights. Healthcare services for adolescents are complex and involve many health and non-health professionals. Incorrect or inappropriate treatment can have unpleasant consequences and even be detrimental to adolescent health. The purpose of this activity is to increase students' knowledge and understanding and raise awareness of the importance of maintaining mental health. This activity method involves socializing mental health with students. The results of the activity indicate an increase in students' knowledge and understanding of mental health. It is recommended that further activities be provided to foster full awareness and habits in maintaining mental health among adolescents.

Abstract

Indramayu Regency holds significant economic potential through its Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. However, the majority of MSME actors still face challenges in branding and digital marketing, mainly due to low awareness, limited graphic design skills, and restricted access to digital training. These issues have resulted in weak product competitiveness in both national and global markets. This community service program aims to enhance the digital skills of MSME actors through training on the use of Canva to create attractive and professional promotional materials. The program consists of four main stages: (1) preparation and MSME mapping, (2) socialization and Canva training, (3) monitoring and evaluation of training outcomes, and (4) reporting and follow-up recommendations. The results show a significant improvement in participants’ ability to independently design product visuals and a better understanding of the importance of digital branding. In addition to empowering MSMEs, the program also involves students in the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative, contributing to the achievement of the university’s Key Performance Indicators (IKU). This program aligns with SDG 9, which focuses on industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and it has the potential to be replicated in other regions to support sustainable digital transformation for MSMEs.

Abstract

The importance of the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) indicator lies in its role as a parameter for efficiency and quality of service, as an indicator of the level of utilization and efficiency of the hospital, as a tool for evaluation and management planning, and as an ideal range to ensure optimal service. BOR is the percentage of bed usage over a certain period of time. It can be used for planning the construction and development of a hospital. One of the health service indicators that can be used to determine the quality level, utilization of facilities, and efficiency of health services. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, BOR is the percentage of bed occupancy over a certain period with an ideal value between 60-85% . This study uses a quantitative descriptive method aimed at systematically, factually, and accurately describing the inpatient service conditions at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan based on the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) indicator. Based on the community service activities, out of 12 rooms, 5 rooms have an ideal BOR value, and 7 rooms have a non-ideal BOR, with a total BOR value of 59.02%. Facilities, infrastructure, competent and adequate human resources, and management greatly influence the BOR value in the quality of hospital services. Non-ideal BOR values occur due to imbalances in these factors, thus they should be closely monitored to ensure the best health services.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to find out how human rights institutions play a role in maintaining and protecting community rights, especially in the context of forestry. The background of this activity stems from the fact that PUSPA HAM, as an institution that focuses on human rights issues in Southeast Sulawesi, is an appropriate destination to understand how forestry and human rights issues are interrelated. This activity involved observation, interviews, discussions, questions and answers and lectures as well as assistance from the PKM team. The results showed that PUSPA HAM has several activities that are effective in addressing human rights issues in Southeast Sulawesi. These activities include human rights education for the community, advocacy for human rights violations, monitoring and evaluation of human rights implementation in Southeast Sulawesi. In carrying out its activities, PUSPA HAM Southeast Sulawesi has shown a strong commitment to fighting for the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities. It has become one of the leading human rights organizations in Southeast Sulawesi. This activity involves collaboration between universities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and government agencies, including PUSPA HAM (Center for Strengthening and Protecting the Rights of Indigenous and Local Communities), WALHI, and the Forestry Service. This collaboration aims to increase awareness and understanding of human rights in Southeast Sulawesi. PUSPA HAM faces challenges in gaining support from the government. The government has policies that do not support human rights in Southeast Sulawesi. In the face of these challenges PUSPA HAM has shown a strong commitment to fighting for the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a major health problem causing high mortality rates globally, particularly in developing countries, including Indonesia. The main causes of NCDs are closely related to unhealthy lifestyles such as lack of physical activity, poor diet, and smoking. According to WHO data, NCDs account for 74% of all global deaths, with 17 million deaths occurring before the age of 70. In Indonesia, the prevalence of NCDs continues to increase based on the results of the 2013 and 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas). One strategic approach to reducing the risk of NCDs is through health education to encourage behavioral changes towards a healthy lifestyle. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to increase the knowledge of students of the Health Information Management Study Program at STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan about the importance of a healthy lifestyle in preventing NCDs. The implementation method included preparation, education using lectures and discussions, and pre- and post-test evaluations. Results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge after the education. This improvement aligns with several previous studies demonstrating that health education can increase knowledge and encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyle behaviors. Health education has proven effective as an intervention in preventing NCDs among university students. The results showed a difference in average knowledge scores before and after the health education. The conclusion of this health education activity was that the knowledge of MIK students at STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan increased by 30.87 points. It is hoped that this increased knowledge will lead to changes in student behavior, particularly regarding adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

The Home Garden Program in Dusun Bancee, Poleonro Village, Libureng Subdistrict, represents a community-based intervention aimed at improving local food security, promoting sustainable land use, and strengthening household economic resilience. This initiative encourages the productive use of residential yard space by cultivating vegetables, fruits, medicinal plants (TOGA), and spices. The program adopts a participatory and educational approach, involving regular training, technical workshops, and field assistance. Initial outcomes indicate significant improvements in residents' gardening skills, better dietary patterns through access to fresh produce, and reduced household food expenses. Moreover, it fosters social values such as mutual cooperation and independence through collective gardening efforts. Environmentally, the program enhances awareness of organic farming practices and supports local biodiversity conservation. Beyond improving quality of life, it serves as an innovative and replicable model of sustainable home garden management for other rural communities. The program’s success highlights how agroecology-based local approaches can provide practical, impactful solutions to food, economic, and environmental challenges at the village level.

Abstract

Financial knowledge remains a challenge for middle school students in Indonesia, particularly those at SMP Negeri 93 Jakarta, where many students come from families with limited access to financial education. This issue is underscored by the national financial literacy rate, which stands at a mere 38,03%, as reported by the Financial Services Authority. In response to this pressing need, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a practical, technology based financial literacy training workshop for junior high school students. The workshop, conducted over one day, was structured in three key stages included pre-test administered via Google Form to assess baseline knowledge, an interactive training session that emphasized essential concept of financial planning and budgeting practices using excel, and a posttest to measure the improvement in understanding. The results showed a significant enhancement in student’s knowledge and awareness regarding personal finance management. This program demonstrates that a straightforward application-based approach can serve as an effective model for financial literacy education, offering potential for replication in other school through collaboration between universities, schools, and local communities.

Abstract

The low level of financial literacy among Indonesian youth remains a serious challenge, particularly for vocational high school (SMK) students who are being prepared to enter the workforce. This community service program aims to enhance students’ financial literacy through personal financial planning training using Microsoft Excel, conducted at SMKS Bani Adna, Bojong Loa Village, Tangerang Regency. The method employed was a one-day workshop consisting of three stages: a Google Form–based pre-test, an interactive training session emphasizing fundamental concepts of personal financial management and budgeting practices using Excel, and a post-test to measure students’ improvement in understanding. The training results indicated a significant increase in students’ financial understanding, with the highest improvement of 10.26% observed in the aspect of daily expense recording. A total of 93% of participants found the Excel template easy to use, and 89% expressed interest in joining follow-up training sessions. This program demonstrates that a simple technology-based approach can effectively enhance students’ financial literacy while offering opportunities for replication in other schools through collaboration among universities, schools, and local communities.

Abstract

This community service project aims to enhance the literacy competence of students at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta (MAS) DDI Baru-Baru Tanga through a collaborative approach integrating Mathematics and English subjects. The background of this program lies in the low level of students’ numeracy and foreign language literacy, which affects their analytical reasoning and scientific communication skills. The activity involved collaborative workshops for teachers, the development of bilingual contextual learning modules, and the implementation of project-based integrated lessons. The program was conducted over two months, engaging 60 eleventh-grade students and four subject teachers. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ ability to read and interpret mathematical texts in English, analyze data, and present problem-solving results in an organized and communicative manner. Furthermore, students demonstrated a more positive attitude toward interactive and cross-disciplinary learning. This collaboration not only strengthened students’ literacy competence but also improved teachers’ pedagogical skills in implementing interdisciplinary learning models. The outcomes of this program highlight the importance of integrating subject collaboration as a strategic effort to promote literacy and foster a culture of innovation within Islamic educational institutions.
