Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of LEGO games on early childhood spatial abilities and understanding of mathematical concepts. Through a quantitative approach, this study involved children aged 5-6 years at Kober Darul Amanah Kindergarten, West Bandung Regency with a population of all students in the school and a sample of 25 students selected randomly. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method and explanatory research design. This study is included in a causal-correlational study, which is a method to see the relationship or influence between variable X and variable Y without direct manipulation. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with the simple random sampling method. The results of the analysis showed that the data were not normally distributed, with a significance value of 0.017 for spatial ability and 0.016 for mathematical understanding. In addition, the correlation analysis produced a significance value of 0.378, which indicates that there is no significant relationship between LEGO games and increased spatial ability and understanding of children's mathematical concepts. These findings indicate that although LEGO play can be an educational tool, its use in this context is not effective enough to improve both aspects of cognitive development.

Abstract

The use of supplements and medications in the world of sports has become an increasingly prominent issue, including among Physical Education students. A lack of proper understanding regarding the content, benefits, and risks of these substances can lead to dangerous misconceptions in sports practice. This study aims to examine the perceptions of Physical Education students at Nahdlatul Ulama Sunan Giri University regarding the use of supplements and medications in sports, as well as the factors that influence those perceptions. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a field study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving six purposively selected informants. The results show that students tend to be permissive toward the use of supplements and morally reject the use of medications; however, their understanding remains limited in terms of scientific and regulatory aspects. Factors influencing their perceptions include personal experience, peer influence, social media, and the limited coverage of the topic in academic courses. These findings highlight the need to strengthen the curriculum and health education to foster critical understanding and responsible attitudes regarding the use of performance-enhancing substances in sports.

Abstract

Teacher discipline is a crucial factor in supporting the quality of education in schools. However, in practice, there are still teachers who lack discipline in carrying out their duties, both in terms of attendance and professional responsibility. This study aims to describe the role of school principal leadership in improving teacher discipline at MTs Islahiyah Kalitidu. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving the principal and teachers. The results show that the principal plays a strategic role as a role model, rule enforcer, motivator, communicator, and evaluator. The strategies implemented include regular coaching, the application of rewards and punishments, personal approaches, and the development of a positive work culture. Supporting factors for leadership success include institutional support and open communication, while the inhibiting factors involve low individual awareness and heavy workloads. In conclusion, humanistic and adaptive leadership by the principal has proven effective in shaping sustainable teacher discipline

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving the argumentative essay writing skills of senior high school (SMA) students. Argumentative essay writing is a critical competency in Indonesian language learning, involving the ability to think critically, construct logical arguments, and systematically communicate ideas. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The research subjects consisted of two 11th-grade classes in a public high school, assigned as the experimental and control groups. The instrument used was an argumentative essay assessment rubric including indicators of structure, cohesion-coherence, argumentation, and language use. The results showed a significant difference in the average essay writing scores between the experimental and control groups after the treatment. The PjBL model proved effective in enhancing students’ argumentative writing skills through active involvement, collaborative work, and the completion of real-world project-based tasks. These findings recommend the implementation of the PjBL model in writing instruction as an innovative alternative relevant to 21st-century learning needs.

Abstract

: This study aims to explore the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and its impact on student achievement at MA Darunnajah Trenggalek. In response to the growing need for more active and student-centered learning, PjBL is introduced as an alternative method that encourages students to engage in real-life problem solving and collaborative activities. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach involving classroom observation, interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of learning documents and assessment records. The results show that PjBL significantly improves student engagement, motivation, and understanding of the subject matter. Students participating in project-based activities demonstrated better academic performance compared to their previous achievements using traditional instructional methods. Through tasks such as group presentations, research projects, and real-world applications, students developed essential skills including critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. Teachers reported a noticeable shift in classroom dynamics, where students became more proactive, enthusiastic, and responsible for their own learning. Despite some challenges such as time management and the need for careful planning, both teachers and students viewed the PjBL method positively. The findings suggest that implementing PjBL not only enhances students’ cognitive achievement but also supports character development and active participation in the learning process. This study concludes that PjBL is an effective instructional strategy for improving academic outcomes and recommends its wider application in various educational settings, particularly in Islamic senior high schools that aim to integrate academic excellence with meaningful learning experiences.

The implemented guidance includes reinforcing religious character, enhancing emotional intelligence, managing stress, and creating a conducive and Islamic-based school environment. The implications of this study highlight that Islamic Religious Education contributes strategically to the development of students’ mental health; therefore, schools need to strengthen mental guidance programs rooted in religious values, improve the capacity of PAI teachers, and integrate spiritual approaches into all aspects of student development.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the weakening quality of emotional interactions within modern families, which has led to an increase in psychological problems among children, such as anxiety, low self-esteem, and an inability to manage emotions. This condition highlights the importance of a family education model that does not merely emphasize cognitive aspects or discipline, but also prioritizes affection as a fundamental basis for children’s psychological well-being. This study employs a library research method by collecting, reviewing, and synthesizing various scientific literatures related to family education, child developmental psychology, theories of affection, and psychological well-being. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis to identify patterns, key concepts, and relationships among relevant variables. The results indicate that affection-based family education plays a significant role in shaping emotional stability, psychological resilience, and children’s moral and social development. Six main components were identified in this model, namely empathetic communication, psychological support, moral-emotional role modeling, consistent parental presence, non-violent parenting, and a safe and harmonious family environment. This model is proven to be relevant in addressing the challenges of modern families facing digital pressures, social changes, and increasing emotional needs of children. The implications of this research emphasize that parents need to enhance their literacy in affection-based parenting as a primary strategy for building children’s psychological well-being. In addition, the findings can serve as a reference for educators, counselors, and policymakers in designing more humane family education programs oriented toward children’s mental health. Thus, this study makes an important contribution to the development of a comprehensive and relevant family education model in the modern era.
