Abstract

Respect contributes to restraining the frequently occur acts of violence. Biblio education belongs to one of the means to establish respect. This study aims to investigate the efficacy of Biblio Education in improving elementary students' awareness of respect. This quantitative study employs an equivalent time-series design with ten subjects from State Elementary School of Gadingkasri, selected through purposive sampling. It used Biblio Education treatment in eight meetings. A validated and reliable respect awareness scale was used as the measuring instrument. The data were analyzed using non-parametric data analysis of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results reveal that the 1-4 treatments carry no effect on students' awareness of respect. Its impact on students' awareness of respect is observed in treatments 5-8. Comprehensively, Biblio Education is sufficient to enhance elementary school students' awareness of respect.

Abstract

This research and development aim to create a counseling guideline with coping self-talk technique to resolve vocational high school students' body dysmorphic disorder. It used a research and development model from Borg and Gall. The results of the assessment carried out by experts and field assessment on the user candidate were analyzed using the inter-rater agreement model. The validity index of the experts and users demonstrates very high criteria. This counseling guideline has followed the requirements from the National Education Standard Institution and four acceptability aspects so that it is feasible to be used.

Abstract

This study investigates the empirical findings on the parenting effects on innovative migrant village children's confidence and academic achievement in Pati. This quasi-experimental research uses a non-equivalent control group design with a 2x2 factorial version. Its subjects were 75 children of Indonesian Migrant workers. The test and non-test data were obtained and analyzed using Manova statistics. Generally, the research results confirm that parenting carries substantial effects on children's confidence and academic achievement.

Abstract

This research and development seek to construct a group counseling guideline book with a fun outbound strategy to increase junior high school students' generosity. The product was designed following the research and development procedure from Borg and Gall. The analysis results of data from guidance and counseling experts, media experts, and users validity present that this guideline is applicable to be used according to its accuracy, usability, easiness, and attractiveness. During the product validation phase, altruism and product eligibility instruments were used. The obtained data included quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data were analyzed using the inter-rater agreement model, while the qualitative data were analyzed by concluding the subjects' rating. The complete product's validity score shows that this counseling guideline is feasible to be used by schools' counselors in the group counseling addressed to enhance junior high school students' altruism.

Abstract

To optimally carry out their developmental tasks during the Covid-19 Pandemic, which affects psychosocial and mental health, teenagers require mentoring. One of those accompaniments may come from their peers. This study observes the way teenagers being peer-counselors during the Covid-19 pandemic. This quantitative research uses a descriptive survey design. Meanwhile, its populations were all participants of peer counseling training webinars conducted by the Centre of Guidance and Counselling Service of Lambung Mangkurat University. The 126 samples were selected using a random sampling technique live in South Borneo. The results convey that 32 percent, 78 percent, and 58 percent of teenagers actively being peer-counselors at the age of 16 years, at the high school age, and when the pandemic started, respectively. A 40 percent of teenagers explain that they choose to be peer counselors because they like to help their friends, 53 percent of them feel to have a superior personality that supports them to be peer counselors, while 27 percent of them contemplate on things they can suggest to help their friends as peer counselors. Additionally, 54 percent of teenagers wish to attain peer counselors' skills that can command the counselees' thoughts. Thus, teenagers have given relatively significant contributions as peer counselors during the Covid-19 pandemic.
