Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the implementation of the Fitrah Based Education concept in organizing the humanistic curriculum. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method with the type of research document/text study (literature study). This study uses primary data sources from books, journals, research, and documents that are relevant to this research. Data analysis in this study was carried out qualitatively using content analysis techniques with conceptual analysis. Based on the research findings, it is found that organizing the humanistic curriculum with the concept of Fitrah Based Education begins with: 1) determining the role of each educator. 2) assess the characteristics of each student, then determine the learning objectives through the initial indicators of each fitrah dimension as a reference. 3) carry out learning that can fulfill the eight aspects of fitrah in its activities. 4) Last, evaluate the learning process through observations and reflect on each fitnah's final indicators. The interesting point about this study is the classification of 8 Fitrah aspects in Fitrah Based Education as the basis for providing humanistic value to students. These eight aspects should be grown simultaneously in the learning process to fulfill the student's needs and build each student's character and knowledge according to the Islamic concept of human nature.

Abstract

It is time for santri and Islamic boarding schools to transform, considering the increasingly rapid development, both at the level of knowledge and experience. Students must be aware of knowledge and experience (soft skills and hard skills), especially nowadays, competition in the national and even international realm provides various kinds of knowledge. In this case, scientific knowledge (science and technology) must be studied by Santri, not just religious knowledge. Therefore, Islamic boarding schools must have long-term programs, where the program has the output that Islamic boarding schools can become universities, or at least be on par with universities. This paper is based on a library research study with an epistemological-positivistic approach. The focus of the problem in this paper is, How do Santri and Islamic Boarding Schools transform? The conclusion is that students with their self-concept will improve their soft skills and hard skills. So that the Islamic Boarding School's ideals will be realized even though it goes through many processes. Future Islamic boarding schools must have long-term programs, so that they are the same as university level.

Islamic boarding schools are the oldest educational institutions that preserve classical learning methods in their application. In its application, the use of classical methods results in several problems. Among them are students feeling bored, lack of learning innovation, and so on. This research will answer one big question related to the impact of the experiential learning method in teaching hadith at the al-Amanah Islamic Boarding School on the cognitive aspects of students. This type of research is qualitative, while the approach in this research is empirical. The data collection methods are direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis is qualitative data analysis which is descriptive-qualitative in nature. In this research, the author uses the experiential learning method, namely a learning process model that emphasizes the central role of experience in the learning process. The results of this research are that there are three methods used by hadith teachers in this Islamic boarding school which are closely related to the experiential learning method. These include stories, drills and presentations. By using these three methods, students' cognitive aspects continue to improve, namely at the level of memory, understanding, application, analysis, evaluation and creation.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools have an important role in forming the moderate character of students. The rise of intolerance, radicalism and extremism that occurs in Indonesia is a particular concern for the learning system in Islamic boarding schools. Moreover, the perspective of some groups has emerged that the learning system in Islamic boarding schools produces students who have conservative and even radical thinking. The concept of Islam that rahmatan lil 'alamin as a basis for moderate Islamic values needs to be instilled in the souls of every student in Islamic boarding schools in order to form a moderate character. Al-Iman Islamic boarding school as an educational institution that is committed to producing a moderate generation has the Imamah Khitobah wa Dakwah program organized by the Kulliyatul Mu'allimin/at Division (KMI) as a form of providing students with training and instilling the values of moderation. This research aims to explore moderate Islamic values and analyze the process of internalizing moderate Islamic values at the Al-Iman Ponorogo Islamic boarding school for class VI KMI students (Kulliyatul Mua'alimin/Mu'allimat al-Islamiyah) through the Imamah Khitobah wa Dakwah Program. This program was held to protect students from radical thoughts and extremism, so that students can implement moderate Islamic values in social life. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. The sources of data obtained were asatidz and ustadzat of the Al-Iman Islamic boarding school, students and alumni. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation techniques. The results of the research show that the internalization of moderate Islamic values through the Imamah Khitobah wa Dakwah program held at the Al-Iman Islamic boarding school produces a moderate learning concept and habituation patterns for students to behave moderately. Through the concept of moderate learning, students can understand the characteristics of moderation based on the Islamic values of rahmatan lil 'alamin. Meanwhile, through habituation patterns, students practice taking a moderate attitude and respecting different opinions in dealing with every problem, especially in religious matters. To contribute to previous studies, this study also attempts to map and analyze the role of Islamic boarding school stakeholders in the massive and structured internalization of moderate Islamic values.

Abstract

Transformational leadership is a type of leadership that prioritizes the values and beliefs of subordinates. This type of leadership is considered suitable to be implemented in Islamic boarding schools because learning in Islamic boarding schools is based on values which are applied top-down from caregivers to administrators and then to students or santri. This method has been going on for a long time and of course now there needs to be a change because every Islamic boarding school is required to balance the value of religiosity with abilities in general knowledge like schools in general. This is because most parents entrust their children to Islamic boarding schools to educate morals with inherent religious values. So Islamic boarding schools must have the capacity to change their organization or transform into modern Islamic boarding schools that still uphold the values of local wisdom that have been built long ago by their founders. The formulation of the problem in this research is how to integrate the transformational leadership model with local wisdom to strengthen organizational capacity for change in Islamic boarding schools in Jombang, East Java, Indonesia. This research aims to 1) analyze the leadership patterns applied in Islamic boarding schools, 2) analyze the learning process implemented by administrators for students, 3) analyze the impact of changes on students related to religious and conventional knowledge, and 4) measure the readiness of Islamic boarding schools to transform according to with general education standards without abandoning the cultural values passed down from the founders. The approach in this research is qualitative where most qualitative researchers can relate to the value contained in the case study method, so that they are able to explain an organization, entity, company, or event. A case study involves deep understanding through various types of research data analysis techniques sources. Case studies can be an explanation, exploration, or describe an event. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews (in-depth interviews), and documentation. The subjects in this research were caregivers, administrators and students. Meanwhile, the object is the Tebuireng Jombang Islamic Boarding School, East Java province. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions. The results of research at the Tebuireng Jombang Islamic boarding school have implemented a transformative leadership model while maintaining local wisdom to continue to strengthen organizational capacity for change quite well.
