Abstract

Fiqh education at MTs Darul Amien Jajag often relies on conventional media, which tends to be less engaging and leads to low student achievement. In an effort to improve the quality of education, teachers face the challenge of incorporating more modern and engaging media, such as video learning. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of using video learning to enhance students' learning outcomes in the Fiqh subject. The research employed a Quasi-Experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of eighth-grade students at MTs Darul Amien Jajag, with class VIII A as the experimental group and class VIII B as the control group. The results indicate that the use of video learning significantly improved student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the significant difference between pretest and posttest scores in the experimental class compared to the control class. The findings suggest that video media can be an effective alternative for improving the quality of Fiqh education.

Abstract

Learning continues to experience development and variation, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), so that innovative strategies are needed that suit the needs of students. One of the strategies that can be implemented is project-based learning. This study aims to systematically analyze relevant literature regarding the implementation of the strategy in Islamic Education learning. The method used is systematic literature review, which aims to summarize research results from literature sources related to this topic. Data were collected through information searches from scientific journal articles that have been determined by the criteria. The data obtained were organized in the form of interrelated narratives to provide a comprehensive picture of the development of research in this field. The results showed that project-based learning in PAI involves structured stages, namely planning, implementation and monitoring, and evaluation. The implementation of this strategy is proven to have a positive and significant impact on student learning outcomes, thus supporting the effectiveness of PAI learning. This study serves as an important guide for educators, policy makers, and researchers in organizing more meaningful learning.

Abstract

The advancement of technology and the development of social media have opened new opportunities for the dissemination of Islamic religious information, especially for millennials who are actively using digital platforms. This study aims to explore the role of social media in enhancing the understanding of Islam among millennials. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review method, this research examines various social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok that provide religious content, as well as their impact on millennials' understanding, practices, and religious identity. The findings indicate that social media significantly enhances religious knowledge by providing content that is engaging, interactive, and easily accessible, thus reaching millennials who prefer concise and visual content. Additionally, social media contributes to fostering a moderate religious identity through the dissemination of Islamic values that promote tolerance and inclusivity. However, a major challenge identified is the risk of spreading invalid religious information and the emergence of extreme interpretations that may lead to biased religious understanding. This study emphasizes that social media plays an essential role as a medium for religious education if managed wisely, supervised appropriately, and complemented with digital literacy. Thus, social media is not only an effective tool for religious outreach but also a strategic instrument in supporting the reinforcement of moderate Islamic understanding among millennials.

Abstract

The development of business in the digital era brings new opportunities and challenges in the world of education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This article discusses the importance of entrepreneurial literacy as an Islamic approach to responding to changes in the digital era. Entrepreneurial literacy in this context refers to the understanding and mastery of entrepreneurial skills based on Islamic values, such as honesty, responsibility, and usefulness to society. This approach is designed to equip students with the ability to adapt to technological changes while implementing business ethics according to Islamic teachings. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were obtained through literature studies, field observations, and interviews with educators and business actors who implement Islamic values. The results of the study revealed that the integration of entrepreneurial literacy in PAI can change students' perspectives, from being passive users of technology to being innovators and productive business actors. In addition, this approach makes PAI more relevant to the needs of the times and helps strengthen students' Islamic character amidst the challenges of the modern era. This study recommends the preparation of an PAI curriculum that includes entrepreneurial literacy as a main component. The successful implementation of this approach also requires synergy between educators, business actors, and educational institutions. Thus, PAI not only functions as spiritual guidance, but also as a driver of social and economic transformation based on Islamic values ​​in the digital era.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in shaping a society that is not only religious but also inclusive and tolerant. In addressing the increasing social polarization, a multicultural approach to PAI emerges as a strategic solution for fostering social harmony. This study examines the implementation of the multicultural PAI paradigm in Islamic educational institutions. A qualitative method with a case study approach was employed to explore the integration of multicultural values within the PAI curriculum through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that this approach enhances students' understanding of cultural and religious diversity while reducing prejudice and stereotypes. Despite challenges such as limited teacher understanding and parental resistance, this paradigm has proven effective in creating a more inclusive and harmonious generation. The integration of Islamic values, such as tawazun (balance), adl (justice), and ukhuwah insaniyah (human fraternity), into multicultural PAI offers an innovative solution for education in the globalization era. Thus, this paradigm has the potential to become a relevant and practical educational model in the context of Indonesia's pluralistic society.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of heutagogy in teacher professional development in Indonesian madrasah using social media platforms as a learning tool. The main question addressed is how the heutagogical approach can enhance learning autonomy and promote teaching innovation among madrasah teachers. The study utilizes a Design-Based Research (DBR) approach to develop and test a professional development model based on heutagogy. The findings show that the implementation of this approach successfully increased teacher autonomy, fostered more innovative teaching practices, and facilitated collaboration through social media. This research makes a significant contribution in understanding how heutagogical approaches can improve the quality of teacher professional development in the digital age.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the management of the development of Islamic Religious Education learning programs at SMP NU, focusing on the approaches applied in curriculum planning, teacher competency development, and the implementation of applicable religious activities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to analyze the management of the development of Islamic Religious Education learning programs at SMP NU Al-Islami Pesanggaran. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out by identifying the main themes, such as curriculum planning and teacher competency development. Data validity was maintained through source triangulation and member checks. The results of this study confirm that adaptive and relevant curriculum planning is very important to meet student needs and developments. The curriculum must consider student characteristics and integrate character values in learning. The development of Islamic Religious Education teacher competencies is also a major factor in improving the quality of education, especially through routine training and the application of interactive methods. Continuous evaluation and supervision, including principal supervision and analysis of learning outcomes, play a role in improving the effectiveness of teaching. These findings are in line with constructivism theory and clinical supervision which emphasize active, reflective, and collaboration-based learning. Thus, an adaptive curriculum approach, improving teacher competency, and ongoing evaluation are effective strategies in improving the quality of education as a whole.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the planning, implementation, and evaluation of vocational curricula in pesantren-based madrasahs as an integrative strategy to produce graduates who are technically competent, spiritually religious, and adaptive to labor market demands. The research was conducted at MA Nurul Qarnain Sukowono Jember and MA Al-Fauzan Labruk Lumajang using a qualitative-descriptive approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings show that curriculum planning is carried out participatively, involving various stakeholders and based on SWOT analysis, Islamic values of Ahlussunnah wal-Jama'ah, and synchronization with national regulations. In its implementation, the madrasahs apply a project-based learning approach that integrates practical skills and Islamic character education, resulting in a “character-based skills” model rooted in the pesantren tradition. Meanwhile, curriculum evaluation is conducted in a tiered and collaborative manner through a modified CIPP model incorporating reflective, spiritual, and social dimensions, where student outcomes are assessed not only academically but also through community and market recognition. This study offers a theoretical contribution by enriching the theories of Gordon, Oliva, and the CIPP evaluation model, and presents a novelty in the form of a contextual-religious vocational curriculum model based on the pesantren system, which is feasible for adoption in contemporary Islamic education. The findings indicate that systemic integration of skills education and Islamic values can serve as a foundation for transforming madrasah education into a competitive and locally rooted system.

Abstract

The pokat kahanggi tradition, a cultural practice in Mandailing society, is crucial in shaping cooperation, social solidarity, and community cohesion. This research examines the practice of this tradition in the Huta Padang Village community and its impact on these values. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, community leaders, and residents involved in the practice, as well as participatory observation of related activities. The Miles and Huberman interactive model was used for data analysis. The results indicate that pokat kahanggi remains an integral part of the Huta Padang community's social life, acting as an integrative mechanism that strengthens relationships between kahanggi members through consensus in various aspects of life. It also serves as an informal education tool, instilling values of mutual cooperation, responsibility, and togetherness to the younger generation. This tradition aligns with concepts of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action, instilling social ethical values and virtues. To preserve and adapt pokat kahanggi, efforts are needed to face modernization challenges. This study contributes to understanding how local traditions can serve as an effective character education instrument.

Abstract

The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model emphasizes the integration of academic content with real-life contexts, allowing students to better comprehend and apply knowledge in their daily lives. This study adopts a qualitative approach with a comparative case study design at two pesantren-based junior high schools: SMP Islam Nurul Fattah and SMP Nurul Jadid. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal that CTL enhances students’ active participation in learning, fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and promotes collaborative engagement. Consequently, CTL offers a promising pedagogical alternative for cultivating a more dynamic and interactive learning environment within Islamic-based educational institutions.
