Abstract

This study highlights the phenomenon of horizontal conflict that occurred in August 2025. During the demonstrations, racial issues emerged that had the potential to disrupt the social and national integration of our country. The purpose of this research is to provide a new interpretation of social harmony through the semantic meaning of the Silaturahim Tunnel, which connects the Istiqlal Mosque and the Cathedral Church. It is hoped that the existence of this site will serve as a reminder that Indonesia is a nation that practices interreligious tolerance. The research employs a qualitative method, with data collected through observation and interviews. Based on the findings from the observations and interviews, it can be concluded that the existence of the site has a positive, albeit not highly significant, impact. This is due to the fact that the site remains relatively closed and public outreach has not been carried out on a large scale. As a result, only those who worship in the area fully understand the symbolic meaning of the Silaturahim Tunnel site. Keyword, horizontal conflict, racial issue and symbolic meaning

Abstract

This study aims to bridge the gaps and examine the evolving impacts of economic development by analyzing the significance of a collective understanding among policymakers, stakeholders, shareholders, academics, and students regarding the critical role of Green Finance. It emphasizes its conceptual and theoretical frameworks and its integral implications for sustainable economic development—an aspect that consistently needs promotion, integration, and institutionalization across all initiatives and planning activities. Employing a descriptive and comparative qualitative approach, the research utilizes secondary data sourced from published reports, journals, research articles, and reputable websites. The dataset spans a time frame between 2020 and 2025. Through comprehensive analysis, the study identifies pertinent findings and global perspectives on policy solutions, highlighting emerging trends, common challenges, and best practices across various countries in Europe and Asia. This enables the development of fresh insights and paradigms regarding Green Finance's importance on conceptual, theoretical, and practical levels in fostering sustainable economic development. Green Finance operates within six environmental objectives: mitigating climate change, adapting to climate change effects, ensuring sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources, transitioning to a circular economy, reducing pollution, and protecting/restoring biodiversity and ecosystems. The related concepts—sustainable finance, climate finance, and low-carbon finance—revolve around effectively channeling financial resources toward projects that offer measurable environmental benefits. Such projects must align with environmental goals like climate change mitigation, adaption strategies, and broader ecological improvements.

Abstract

This article explores the experiences and interpretations of several individuals with disabilities regarding accessibility barriers, lack of information, and social support and affirmative justice policies during the election. We employed a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. The results indicate that the main obstacles faced by individuals with disabilities include a lack of disability-friendly facilities at polling stations (TPS), minimal inclusive election outreach, and social stigma that reduces their confidence in participating. Furthermore, limited transportation and dependence on guardians also impact their ability to vote independently. This study recommends that election organizers improve inclusive political education, provide accessible facilities, and train election officials to understand the needs of individuals with disabilities. This will increase voter participation for individuals with disabilities and support the realization of an inclusive and equitable democracy. The novelty of this study lies in application of Creswell’s transcendental phenomenology, to explore the lived sxperiences of voters with disabilities in Cilegon City. This sudy integrating theoretical framework of group differentiated justice, more nuanced copceptualization of how disabled individuals perceive fairnesss, accessibility and political agency. This research contributes original empirical insights by demonstrating barriers to electoral participation not solely structural, but deeply shaped by subjective experiences, tahat remain underexplored in existing Indonesial political behavior research.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of Puja Mandala as a symbol of religious harmony in Bali, Indonesia, where various religions coexist. The study highlights the importance of Puja Mandala, which includes five different places of worship in one area, as a manifestation of multiculturalism and pluralism. The analysis uses indicators of religious harmony, such as tolerance, equality, and collaboration, to assess the dynamics within Puja Mandala. This study refers to a framework developed by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2017, which provides a theoretical basis for understanding the coexistence of various religious groups in Bali. Despite the challenges posed by radical ideologies and the potential for conflict between majority and minority groups, this study analyzes the theoretical framework of religious harmony in Bali, which reflects the diversity of religious groups, as depicted in Puja Mandala. Based on a literature review, this study discusses how Balinese society has managed to maintain peaceful coexistence despite facing challenges from radical ideologies and divisive forces. In addition, this study acknowledges the ongoing threats to tolerance, including apathy and the domination of certain groups over others, which can lead to social fragmentation. However, it argues that Puja Mandala serves as a beacon of hope, illustrating that with a commitment to tolerance and understanding, communities can overcome these challenges and maintain harmony. In conclusion, Puja Mandala is not only a religious site but a vital symbol of interfaith harmony in Bali. This study underscores the importance of preserving and promoting the values of tolerance and cooperation, which are essential for maintaining peace in a diverse society.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the village government and the customary institution in Kasepuhan Guradog, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, emphasizing the role of Abah Olot as a traditional leader who holds significant influence over local socio-political structures. The purpose of this study is to understand how customary authority interacts with formal power to create a balanced governance system. The research applies a qualitative approach using the phenomenological method as described by Creswell (2014), through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving traditional leaders and village officials. The results show that the relationship between the village head and Abah Olot is complementary and symbiotic, where customary approval provides social legitimacy for government policies, strengthening social cohesion, and administrative effectiveness. Moreover, regular deliberation forums between the village government and the customary community encourage the creation of policies that align with local values. However, the study also identifies potential kinship-based dominance since the village head is a descendant of Abah Olot, which may lead to a patronage system that limits broader public participation. The emergence of multiple candidates in recent village elections indicates a gradual shift toward a more democratic process. This study concludes that the governance system in Kasepuhan Guradog represents a hybrid form of power, a negotiated balance between the state and customary authority, demonstrating the adaptability of indigenous communities to modernization while preserving their cultural identity.
