Abstract

The term of office of village heads and regional heads is certainly different because both have their own regulations in the law, which is written about village regulations including Law Number 5 of 1979 concerning Village Government then replaced by Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning villages and after that changed to Law No. 3 of 2024 which regulates the term of office of village heads is 8 years and a maximum of 2 terms. Meanwhile, Article 162 Paragraph (1) and (2) of the same Law regulates that regional heads serve for five years. While Article 201 Paragraph (7) of Law Number 10 of 2016 concerning Regional Elections states that regional heads resulting from the 2020 Regional Elections serve until 2024. The research method used is a literature review or Library study. The purpose of this study is to analyze changes in the regulations on the term of office of village heads and regional heads. The results of the study show that there are many changes in the term of office of village heads and the term of office of regional heads which include several laws in them.

Abstract

Equality for people with disabilities is one of the main goals in realizing social justice. Legal protection provided to people with disabilities is an important element in ensuring that their rights are fulfilled without discrimination. This study aims to review aspects of legal protection for people with disabilities using a literature study approach. Through the analysis of legal documents and policies, it was found that various regulations have been formulated to guarantee the rights of people with disabilities, including in the fields of education, employment, health, and general accessibility. However, the implementation of these regulations often encounters challenges, such as low public understanding, lack of supporting facilities, and weak supervision of policy implementation. In an effort to create equality, synergy is needed between the government, society, and the private sector to ensure that existing policies are actually implemented. This includes providing physical, technological, and communication accessibility, as well as strengthening regulations that provide strict sanctions against perpetrators of discrimination. This study also highlights the importance of inclusive education and training for the community to increase awareness and sensitivity to disability issues. With a comprehensive and inclusive approach, it is hoped that the rights of people with disabilities can be better guaranteed, so that an equal and just society is created. Legal protection is an important foundation, but optimal and sustainable implementation efforts are the main key to realizing equality for people with disabilities.

Abstract

Money politics in election campaigns is one of the main issues in the practice of democracy in Indonesia. This phenomenon creates bias in the implementation of the principles of justice, freedom, and honesty in general elections. This article aims to analyze the legal aspects related to money politics in campaigns leading up to elections, including applicable laws and regulations, their implementation, and their social and political impacts. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a normative approach that refers to laws and regulations such as Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections. The results of the study show that although regulations have been in place, the practice of money politics is still a major challenge that requires stricter supervision and law enforcement

Abstract

In today's digital era, people have the convenience of expressing opinions, sharing experiences, or stating opinions through social media. However, this freedom of expression is also often accompanied by violations related to the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE), which makes many people afraid to express themselves on social media due to a lack of understanding of the law. The ITE Law is viewed positively by some people, but there are also those who see it from a negative side. This study uses a normative legal research method with a literature approach, collecting legal materials through literature studies that refer to primary and secondary legal materials, and using a statutory approach. The purpose of this study is to provide information about things to consider when using social media, understand the influence of news on social media on self-expression, and provide guidance for using social media wisely. With a correct understanding of the ITE Law, it is hoped that people will not feel worried about expressing themselves freely on social media, and can become responsible users

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the courses that is identical to numbers or calculations, so it is a concern for government science students whose background is social sciences and humanities. The purpose of this study is to describe the perceptions of students of the Government Science Study Program regarding mathematics courses. The research method used in this study is a survey with a quantitative descriptive approach and data analysis using descriptive statistics. The results of the study show that the initial perception of students of the government science study program regarding mathematics courses predominantly states that mathematics is not easy or difficult with a percentage of 49.58%. The initial perception that states it is very not easy or very difficult is 30.83%. While no one has an initial perception that mathematics is very easy. Only 5.42% have the perception that mathematics is easy and 14.17% have the perception that the level of ease of mathematics courses is moderate.

Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the most important aspects of personality in human life, "self-confidence is one of the factors for someone to be able to consider and make certain decisions themselves" and self-confidence is also a mental attitude of optimism from the child's ability to solve everything and be able to adapt to the situation faced. Therefore, to foster a sense of self-confidence that is very lacking in students, group counseling treatment is given using the Assertive Training Technique. The purpose of this study was to determine the Effect of Assertive Training Techniques on the Self-Confidence of Class XI Students of SMAN 1 Labuapi in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The design of this study used a one group pre-test-post-test design. The population in this study were classes XI B and XI C with a total of 40 students, and the sample in this study was 9 students who were indicated to have low levels of self-confidence based on the results of the pre-test. Based on the results of data analysis, the t-count value was obtained as (9.756), while for the t-table value with db (N-1) = 9-1 = 8 at a significance level of 5% of (2.306) then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus the conclusion obtained in this study: There is an Effect of Assertive Training Techniques on the Self-Confidence of Class XI Students of SMAN 1 Labuapi in the 2023/2024 Academic Year, so it can be concluded that the results of this study are "Significant".

Abstract

Tourism plays a crucial role in regional economic development, particularly in areas with abundant natural and cultural resources. Senggigi, an iconic tourism destination in West Lombok Regency, has experienced a significant decline in tourist visits since 2018 due to natural disasters, the COVID-19 pandemic, weak digital promotion, and competition from emerging destinations such as Mandalika. This study aims to analyze the strategic policies of the West Lombok Regional Government in revitalizing Senggigi as a leading tourism destination. The study employs a descriptive approach by analyzing literature, statistical data, and field observations. Findings indicate that the decline in tourist visits is associated with inadequate infrastructure, weak branding, and underutilized local tourism potential. Strategic recommendations include infrastructure revitalization, rebranding campaigns, community-based tourism development, diversification of tourism products, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. The planned implementation of these policies is expected to restore Senggigi as a competitive and sustainable destination in Lombok

Abstract

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly increasing across various societal activities, including in Mataram—although most users do not have adequate English proficiency. This study aims to analyze issues arising from AI usage by users with limited English skills. Employing quantitative methods (survey of 120 users) and qualitative methods (15 in-depth interviews), we examine phenomena such as miscommunication, AI bias, and socio-ecological impacts. Data show that 68% experienced misconceptions about AI outputs, 60% faced verbal discrimination, and 52% received inaccurate information. These results are reinforced by techno-linguistic bias and AI’s tendency to favor Standard English. Recommendations include language training, development of local bilingual AI, and inclusive policies. The findings raise awareness that language proficiency is an important prerequisite for fair and effective AI adoption

Abstract

Buddhism teaches the concept and practice of developing the mind to achieve true happiness. This qualitative research, conducted through a literature review, examines the concept and practice of developing the mind in Buddhism. The data analysis technique used content analysis, selecting items that align with the research objectives. This research found that the concept of developing equanimity is crucial for facing all of life's problems. To practice equanimity (upekha), one can train oneself to overcome three traits that conflict with equanimity: attachment, indifference, anger, and ill will. The practice of equanimity can be directed at three things: (1) overcoming attachment to loved ones through meditation on impermanence; (2) overcoming indifference to strangers who are neither friends nor enemies through meditation on arousing loving-kindness (metta); and (3) overcoming anger and ill will toward those who harm others by contemplating the causes and conditions of their harmful actions.

Abstract

Bullying cases are increasingly rampant, resulting in death or murder. The purpose of this study is to examine the law on the protection of bullying victims. The research method used in this writing is the normative legal research method and literature. The results of the study show that Indonesia is one of the countries that regulates protection for bullying victims and sanctions for perpetrators of bullying. Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection (Child Protection Law), "Violence is any act against children that results in physical, psychological, sexual misery or suffering, and/or neglect, including threats to commit acts, coercion, or unlawful deprivation of liberty." Efforts to protect children have been regulated in several laws and regulations, including the Child Protection Law, Law No. 39 of 1999 concerning Human Rights and Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Justice System (SPPA Law). Child protection is stipulated in Article 80 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection
