Abstract

This study aims to identify the challenges faced by Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Jadid in increasing public trust by using the 5M method as an image management strategy. This study uses a qualitative case study approach to understand how internal and external factors build public trust in the madrasah. The research findings show that internal challenges include improving Human Resources (HR), applicable systems, marketing strategies, and providing supporting facilities. Meanwhile, external challenges are related to the readiness of the community to understand and adapt to the system implemented in the madrasah. It is necessary to implement 5M-based image management, which includes Man (human), Method (method), Material (resources), Money (funding), and Media (communication tools). The results of this study provide an in-depth understanding of the strategy for building public trust contextually based on the social and cultural conditions of Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Jadid. These findings can be a reference for further research to strengthen the concept of image management in various educational institutions.

Abstract

Exit exams in higher education have both upsides and downsides. This review examines their impact using the PRISMA methodology. It analyzes 22 empirical studies published between 1994 and 2024. The search covered databases like Google Scholar, ERIC, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. A thematic narrative synthesis was used to evaluate the findings. Exit exams improve accountability and standardize assessments. They align curricula with learning goals. This ensures consistent educational quality across institutions. Students gain job-ready skills, enhancing employability. Exams also promote critical thinking and inclusivity. However, downsides exist. High-stakes exams increase student stress and anxiety. They may lead to "teaching to the test," narrowing curricula. Creativity and deeper learning can suffer. Equity concerns arise due to cultural and socioeconomic disparities. Underrepresented groups often face disadvantages. The review highlights a need for balance. While exams raise standards, their risks must be managed. Support systems can reduce student stress. Diverse assessment methods should complement exams. Equitable access to resources is crucial. Policymakers and educators must collaborate for fair practices. Ongoing research is needed. Future studies should explore long-term impacts on students. Cross-cultural comparisons can identify best practices. Alternative assessment models may offer solutions. Addressing equity gaps remains a priority. In conclusion, exit exams have clear upsides but significant downsides. A balanced approach is essential. This ensures that exams enhance education without harming students. Continuous evaluation and adaptation are key to maximizing upsides while minimizing harm.

Abstract

This study analyzes the principal's leadership management in enhancing students' emotional intelligence (EQ) at MTs Darunnajah. Emotional intelligence is a crucial aspect of education, contributing to academic achievement, social skills, and character building. In Islamic education, EQ is a foundation for developing morally upright individuals capable of facing academic and social challenges. The researcher employed a qualitative descriptive approach and collected data through in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, students, and parents, supported by observation and documentation of school activities. They analyzed the data using thematic coding, applied source triangulation, and validated the findings through member checking to ensure credibility. The study found that the principal developed students' EQ through four core managerial functions: planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. The principal created systematic planning that provided clear direction for school programs and organized collaborative efforts among teachers to integrate character values into every lesson. The implementation aligned with the school's vision and mission by emphasizing character-based learning and empathy-building activities. The principal also supervised the process to evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary improvements. In addition to leadership management, internal factors such as emotional regulation and self-motivation contributed to students' EQ development. In contrast, external factors included parental support, teacher role modeling, and an inclusive school climate. In conclusion, the principal's effective and collaborative leadership fostered a supportive learning environment that enhanced students' EQ. Sustainable development of emotional intelligence requires continuous synergy among principals, teachers, and parents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze hidden curriculum strategies in fostering tolerance attitudes at Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School as a replicable model of tolerance education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, the research was conducted over six months, involving the deputy head of the boarding school, the academic council, the coordinator of mentors, mentors, and students as research subjects. The findings reveal that the hidden curriculum operates through three dimensions: structural via the Student-friendly Islamic boarding school program, interactional through dialogic communication between mentors and students, and cultural via institutional openness and diversification of extracurricular activities. Implementation follows a systematic pattern from the micro level (room) through amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, the meso level (boarding school) with social activities, to the macro level (community) through interfaith dialogue. Students active in extracurricular activities have higher tolerance levels. This study produces the Tri-Dimensional Hidden Curriculum concept, which integrates Jackson's theory with boarding school values, contributing theoretically and practically to the development of tolerant character education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Schools increasingly use Instagram Reels as a promotional medium to build emotional closeness with prospective students. Researchers believe emotional narratives increase enrollment interest, but audience engagement plays a key role in mediating this effect. This study used a quantitative survey method on 141 students at SMKN 1 Ponorogo. The instrument consisted of a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire, tested for validity and reliability using SmartPLS 3.0. Researchers analyzed data using PLS-SEM to examine direct, indirect, and mediating effects. The results showed that emotional narratives significantly influenced audience engagement (β = 0.647; p = 0.000), and audience engagement significantly influenced registration interest (β = 0.594; p = 0.000). The direct effect of emotional narratives on registration interest is positive but insignificant (β = 0.166; p = 0.121). This study found a full mediating effect with a significant indirect influence (β = 0.384; p = 0.000). The R² values of 0.418 for audience engagement and 0.508 for enrollment interest indicate a moderate contribution of the model. These findings confirm that emotional narratives are compelling only when accompanied by strategies encouraging active audience interaction, increasing the likelihood of prospective students enrolling.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of the SAVA system as a digital-based quality management strategy at SDIT Ar-Rahmah, Indonesia, using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The research was conducted through a qualitative descriptive approach, employing interviews, observations, and documentation, with data analysis following Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal that the SAVA system was adopted in response to contextual needs for systematic monitoring of academic and affective services. In terms of input, teacher training, adequate infrastructure, and strong parental involvement provided the foundation for implementation. The process dimension highlighted comprehensive academic strategies including teacher training, supervision, use of digital media, and project-based assessments alongside affective strategies such as daily Islamic practices, character-building programs, and social activities, all integrated into the SAVA system. The product dimension demonstrated measurable impacts: efficiency in report preparation, increased student motivation, and observable improvements in honesty, discipline, and cooperation. Despite these achievements, challenges remain, particularly the absence of a mobile version and the need for automatic notifications. Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on educational quality management by showing how digital innovation can be systematically combined with values-based education in Islamic schools. Practically, it offers a best-practice model for holistic quality assurance, integrating academic excellence with character development through data-driven strategies.
