Abstract

Irrational drug use in the community remains a significant health problem. Different geographic and demographic characteristics can influence drug use patterns and the problems that arise. This study aims to evaluate and compare household drug use patterns between Bandung Regency and West Bandung Regency. The study was conducted in January 2026 using a cross-sectional method with a door-to-door approach in Ibun Village (Bandung Regency, n=44) and Cibodas-Langensari Village (West Bandung Regency, n=26). Data were collected through structured interviews covering drug types, usage problems, and education provided. Analysis was conducted descriptively and comparatively. Significant differences were found between the two regions. Bandung Regency was dominated by analgesic-antipyretic drugs (34.1%) for acute diseases, while West Bandung Regency had more antihypertensive drugs (14.6%) and antidiabetic drugs (8.0%) for chronic diseases (45.1% of households owned chronic disease medications). The problem of incorrect dosage in West Bandung Regency (76.9%) was significantly higher than in Bandung Regency (31.8%). Non-prescription drug use was higher in Bandung Regency (31.8% vs. 11.5%). Education was tailored to the problem profile of each region. Differences in health profiles and drug use patterns between the two regions require tailored intervention approaches. Bandung Regency requires education on prescription drug use and access to healthcare, while West Bandung Regency requires a specific program for chronic disease management and intensive drug dosage education.

Abstract

Menstrual cycle disorders are a reproductive health problem frequently experienced by adolescent girls and are influenced by psychological factors and nutritional status. This study aims to analyze the relationship between anxiety levels, diet, and body mass index (BMI) with menstrual cycle disorders in 12th-grade female adolescents at SMAN 1 Praya. The study used a cross-sectional design with 183 respondents selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through the DASS-21 (Anxiety Spectrum) questionnaire, FFQ (Food Frequency Questionnaire), anthropometric measurements, and menstrual cycle questionnaires, then analyzed using the Spearman Rank test (α = 0.05). The results showed that 37.2% of respondents experienced menstrual cycle disorders. There was a significant relationship between anxiety (rs = 0.420; PR = 2.31), diet (rs = −0.395; PR = 2.80), and BMI (rs = 0.188; PR = 2.20) with menstrual cycle disorders (p < 0.05). It was concluded that anxiety, diet, and BMI play a role as risk factors for menstrual cycle disorders in adolescent girls, so that promotive interventions are needed through mental health education, nutritional improvement, and monitoring of nutritional status in schools.

Abstract

Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS) is a recognized cause of chronic pelvic pain resulting from impaired venous drainage and is most commonly observed in multiparous women. Pregnancy, hormonal changes, and cesarean delivery are known risk factors for this condition. This study was designed as a descriptive case study to illustrate the clinical identification and multidisciplinary management of PCS in a postpartum patient following cesarean section. We report the case of a 38-year-old woman (P3A0) who presented 24 hours after cesarean section with abdominal bloating and leg swelling. Physical examination revealed a well-healed surgical incision, a uterine fundal height two fingerbreadths above the symphysis pubis, mild lower-limb edema, and pelvic tenderness. Pelvic ultrasonography demonstrated dilated and tortuous adnexal veins, more prominent on the left side, findings consistent with PCS. Multidisciplinary management involving obstetrics, internal medicine, and radiology played a crucial role in establishing an accurate diagnosis and initiating effective treatment. Early recognition and coordinated care were essential in preventing progression to chronic pelvic complications. This case highlights the importance of considering PCS in postpartum women presenting with unexplained pelvic pain or edema, as timely diagnosis and appropriate management can improve outcomes and reduce long-term morbidity.

Abstract

Floods and landslides in Central Tapanuli Regency have paralyzed health infrastructure and increased the risk of infectious diseases among vulnerable groups. This community service aims to restore access to health services and prevent outbreaks through a comprehensive medical response. The method utilized a collaborative Comprehensive Emergency Response approach, including curative medical services (mobile clinic), pharmaceutical logistics distribution, nutritional intervention, and psychosocial support. The activities were conducted in the working area of Barus Public Health Center (Puskesmas) in December 2025. The results showed that the medical team successfully treated over 245 patients, predominantly suffering from URI and dermatitis, and performed circumcision for 12 children. In addition to medical services, 38,802 units of medicine, 1,538 units of medical equipment, and 300 packages of supplementary food for pregnant women and toddlers were distributed. This intervention not only reduced physical morbidity and psychological trauma but also revitalized the functionality of the local Puskesmas through logistical stock support. It is concluded that the integration of mobile medical services and supply chain strengthening is effective in mitigating the impact of disasters in isolated areas.
