Abstract

Background. Serum proteins as factors of the physiological adaptation and metabolic regulation in endurance athletes. Yet, the acute effects of low-intensity aerobic exercise on circulatory protein biomarkers remain less investigated among LDRs. Objectives. The objective of this study was to compare the serum levels of proteins (albumin, globulins, and fibrinogen) before and after low-intensity aerobic exercise in long-distance runners. Method. The sample was composed of 6 purposively selected runners from the Nineveh national team (60% of the total number). Venous blood samples were obtained before and after a standardized low-intensity aerobic exercise. Serum protein levels The serum protein levels were determined by standard biochemical methods. Statistical analysis were performed with using ARITH average, SD standard devitation, 2 paired t- test and TCV cioifficient of variation. SPSS version 11.0 was used for the statistical analysis. Results. There were no significant changes on serum albumin and fibrinogen with low-intensity aerobic exercise (p > 0.05). By contrast, serum globulin levels did not significantly change. These results demonstrate selective physiological changes in blood protein response to aerobic low intensity loading in endurance trained athletes. Conclusion. In response to low intensity physical activity there are marked changes of certain serum proteins (above all those of albumin and fibrinogen), while globulins do not change significantly. These data indicate that acute oxygen costs have an effect on some biochemical hydration, inflammation and metabolic markers. The present study adds to the knowledge of acute biochemical effects of low-intensity aerobic activity in athletes with endurance intensity. The results lay the groundwork for serum protein dynamics-based load training load optimization. Future work should use larger populations, differentiate between male and female athletes, differentiate training intensities and durations to increase the explanatory power of this biomarker analysis for sports performance and recovery in future studies.

Abstract

Background. The applicability of the importance of this research is that the specific exercises are an imitation of the performance that is closer to the real one in football matches in terms of the difficulty of its execution. In addition, it is also performed in a competitive environment, so the player has the opportunity to express his competitiveness and make the most of the time and opportunity available to him to perform a fast and accurate response at the level of motor performance and skill performance to defeat his competitor and with fluidity and coordination and accuracy and perfection in technical execution. Objectives. The objectives of this research are: To determine the impact of specific exercises in developing agility, motor speed, and skill performance among under-19 players. Method. The researcher used the experimental method because it is the most appropriate method in light of the research problem. The research population included clubs of Wasit Governorate that participated in the Youth League for the season 2024–2025, and it included 127 players. The researcher designed and implemented specialized football-specific exercises for the experimental group and the control group in accordance with the program of the coach. Results. Each of the specific exercises included complete rest periods between repetitions, so that each athlete completely recovered his energy to be able to perform the next repetition without the fatigue that may not allow him to maintain the level of execution quality. So the results of the previous exercise, although they were still present, would not be a limiting factor in the next repetition or in the other exercises. After completing the pre-test and post-test, the researcher used the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program to analyze the data and draw the results. Conclusion. The researcher concluded that the specific exercises were appropriate for the experimental group and can be applied to all the research population. The relationship between motor abilities and technical abilities improves actual performance on the ground. The specific exercises implemented by the experimental group, where it combined agility, balance and football skills had a huge impact in developing agility and motor speed.

Abstract

Background. The problem of this study lies in the urgent need for a standardized test that measures muscular strength and dynamic balance during rotation in a manner that realistically simulates the actual performance of the hammer throw. Most of the currently available tests measure these physical attributes separately and do not accurately reflect the complex, integrated nature of performance required in this event. Objectives. This study aimed to develop and standardize a test to measure muscular strength and dynamic balance during rotation among young hammer throwers and to identify their relationship to performance achievement. Method. The researcher used the descriptive method on a sample of (35) young hammer throwers aged (18–23 years) in Iraq. The proposed test consisted of performing three rotational turns inside the throwing circle using a 5 kg medicine ball, then throwing it with maximum force while maintaining balance. The analysis was assisted using the SPSS 26 application. Results. The results showed that the test demonstrated high scientific validity indicators: validity (0.89), reliability (0.91), and objectivity (0.95). Moreover, a very strong correlation (r = 0.89) was found between the test and the digital performance level, explaining 79% of the variance in achievement — a higher percentage compared to traditional tests. Six standard levels were established, ranging from Poor to Excellent. Conclusion. The researcher recommended using the test in selection and evaluation processes and emphasized integrating strength and balance training in athletic training programs. Integrating strength and balance into a single test is more effective than measuring them separately, as muscular strength and dynamic balance interact to determine performance level.

Abstract

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to evaluate athletic performance. Artificial neural networks (ANNs) enable the detection of complex movement patterns that are difficult to measure using traditional tests . This research aims to build an evaluative model based on ANNs to assess motor coordination during the rotation phase in young discus throwers and to study its relationship to performance . The researcher employed a descriptive-analytical approach with a sample of 30 young discus throwers. Multilayered neural networks were used to train the model on a set of kinematic variables extracted from video recordings, and the network outputs were compared with expert estimates. The results indicated that the model possessed high scientific coefficients and revealed a strong correlation between the extracted motor coordination scores and numerical achievement (r = 0.88). Six standard levels ranging from "weak" to "excellent" were also constructed and can be used in evaluation and selection processes. The study recommends using this model to evaluate young discus throwers and improve training programs.

Abstract

Background. Maximal strength is influenced by several aspects including muscular coordination ability to produce force rapidly and adaptations to specific loads. Weight machines and resistance exercise equipment are popular training modalities among national and international elite-level teams. However, there is a paucity of evidence related to single and double weight machine exercise training in increasing maximal strength among advanced powerlifters. Objectives. The aim of the study was to determine and compare the effects of single weight machine and weight training using equipment on maximal muscle strength and bench press performance among advanced powerlifters. Method. The study used an experimental-equivalent groups design with pretest–posttest measures. Twenty-four advanced male powerlifters, aged 23–30 years, were recruited from Diwaniyah powerlifting team as participants. Sampling was done using stratified random sampling according to the competitors’ weight. Participants were assigned randomly to either the single-weight machine training group (n = 8), double-weight machine training group (n = 8), or control group (n = 8). The control group continued the coach’s regular training program throughout the study. Each intervention group trained three times per week for 8 weeks. Assessment of maximal muscle strength and bench press performance was conducted pre- and post-intervention. Results. Results revealed significant improvements in maximal strength and bench press performance in both experimental groups in comparison to the control group. There was a significantly greater increase in maximal strength performance using double weight machines than single weight machines. Conclusion. Resistance exercise programs using single and double weight machines enhanced maximal strength and bench press performance among advanced powerlifters. Findings provide evidence-based recommendations regarding strength training specificity among elite powerlifting competitors and support increased accuracy when programming by training modality.
