Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive community service initiative aimed at improving healthcare accessibility through free health screening services in Krandon Village, Guntur District, Demak Regency. The program implemented both conventional invasive and innovative non-invasive diagnostic technologies to measure blood glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid levels among rural community members. The initiative was conducted through a collaborative effort between the Physics Department of Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo Semarang and the community organization Ngabdi Neliteni Ngabekti (N3). The program successfully demonstrated the practical application of university research in addressing community health needs while introducing innovative diagnostic technologies that enhance patient comfort and reduce medical waste. This community-based screening approach facilitated early detection of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and gout, while simultaneously providing health education to promote sustainable lifestyle changes. The results highlight the potential of university-community partnerships in bridging the gap between academic research and practical healthcare solutions for underserved populations.

Abstract

This community service program implemented a science play activities mentoring initiative at Himawari Early Childhood Education Center (TPA-KB-TK Himawari) in Semarang, Indonesia. The program aimed to introduce basic science concepts to young children through enjoyable play-based activities while providing parental education on supporting science learning at home. The intervention involved 30 participants including children, parents, and educators. The program utilized simple, safe materials for hands-on experiments such as color mixing, light refraction with CDs, and creating mini lava lamps. Results demonstrated high engagement from children and positive responses from parents regarding the importance of early science introduction. The initiative successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in early childhood science education while strengthening university-community partnerships. This program contributes to community development by enhancing educational quality and promoting scientific literacy from an early age.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance students' academic competency and preparedness for the National Science Olympiad (OSN) 2023 in Mathematics and Natural Sciences at elementary and junior high school levels. The program, organized by the Physics Department of Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo Semarang in collaboration with the Association of Madrasah Science Enthusiasts (Perkumpulan Pegiat Sains Madrasah), was conducted online via Zoom Meeting. The training covered eight comprehensive sessions including Kinematics and Mechanics, Forces, Rotational Dynamics, Oscillations and Waves, Electricity and Magnetism, Solar System, Optics, and Temperature and Heat, along with two simulation sessions. Despite challenges such as network connectivity issues and varying participant readiness levels, the program successfully provided intensive coaching to OSN participants and their supervising teachers from elementary (SD/MI) and junior high school (SMP/MTs) levels. This initiative demonstrates the importance of systematic academic preparation and highlights the role of higher education institutions in supporting K-12 education excellence through collaborative mentoring programs.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology offers villages opportunities to adopt the Smart Village concept through digital marketing strategies. This study examines the optimization of digital applications for creating creative content to enhance the village's attractiveness and visibility. The method employed is Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), with a case study conducted in a village implementing digital marketing. The findings indicate that applications such as Canva, CapCut, and Shopee can improve content quality, expand promotional reach, and attract tourists and investors. However, challenges such as digital literacy and internet access remain significant obstacles. The proposed solutions include training and mentoring programs for village communities to help them use technology optimally. Therefore, optimizing digital applications in creative content creation can serve as an innovative strategy to strengthen the Smart Village ecosystem and enhance village competitiveness in the digital era.
