Abstract

This study is based on the dynamics occurring in rural communities, particularly related to limited Islamic religious knowledge and inadequate access to education, which need to be addressed through the development of sustainable Islamic education. The sustainability of Islamic education is key to changing social conditions and empowering rural communities. The purpose of this study is to identify the model of Islamic education at Griya Pintar Mbok Supi, Gading Village, the basis for building its sustainability, and the factors that influence it. The method used is field research with a qualitative and phenomenological approach, which allows for in-depth analysis of the experiences of education practitioners and the surrounding community. This study focuses on how the educational model is implemented, the basis for building educational sustainability, and the factors that influence the sustainability of Islamic education at the institution. Key findings indicate that the model of Islamic education at Griya Pintar Mbok Supi, Gading Village, is a form of community-based Islamic education that takes place in residents' homes through non-formal education channels. Its sustainability is built on the basis of strong da'wah motivation, basic capital in the form of a home as a place of education, social capital built through harmonious relationships with the community, and the utilization of local potential. Factors that influence its sustainability include the open and adaptive attitude of the community, awareness and concern for Islamic education, good communication, and support from the government and stakeholders.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based semi-adaptive learning on students’ motivation, comprehension, and learning independence at SMP Islam Al-Ishlah Bukittinggi. The research employed an evaluative study design using a mixed methods approach, combining descriptive quantitative and qualitative data to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the implementation of AI-based learning. Quantitative data were collected through a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire administered to 28 ninth-grade students of class IX.A using a total sampling technique. Qualitative data were obtained through interviews with teachers and students, as well as classroom observations. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and instrument reliability testing, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically to strengthen and explain the numerical findings. The results indicate that students demonstrated a high level of readiness and understanding of AI use in learning, with an agreement rate of 92%. The use of AI applications was perceived as effective by 84% of students in enhancing learning motivation and comprehension through flexible learning pace and automated feedback. The impact of AI-based semi-adaptive learning on motivation and comprehension was categorized as high, whereas students’ learning independence was at a moderate level, as some students still required teacher clarification. These findings confirm that AI-based semi-adaptive learning effectively improves learning quality; however, its success strongly depends on teacher guidance, infrastructure readiness, digital literacy, and the integration of Islamic educational values.

Abstract

The leadership of madrasah principals plays a pivotal role in strengthening human resource quality and improving educational service effectiveness within Islamic educational institutions. This study examines the manifestations and implications of charismatic leadership in enhancing the performance of educational staff at MAN 2 Ponorogo. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving the madrasah principal and staff members of the One-Stop Integrated Service Unit (PTSP) selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The trustworthiness of the findings was established through source and method triangulation. The results indicate that the principal’s charismatic leadership is grounded in the Islamic values of siddiq (truthfulness), amanah (trustworthiness), tabligh (effective communication), and fathonah (wisdom and intelligence). These values are translated into exemplary conduct, persuasive communication, participatory decision-making, motivational and reward mechanisms, and the cultivation of a religiously oriented work culture. Such leadership practices contribute to increased staff engagement, responsibility, discipline, productivity, adaptability, loyalty, and professionalism. Moreover, they foster a collaborative, harmonious, and quality-oriented organizational climate that supports the continuous improvement of educational services. The study concludes that charismatic leadership embedded in Islamic values and participatory management practices constitutes an effective strategy for strengthening educational staff performance and advancing sustainable madrasah governance.

Abstract

Teachers are increasingly exposed to work-related stress due to growing professional demands and workload, which may adversely affect their physical and psychological well-being. This study investigates the effects of academic procrastination and time management on teachers' work stress. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed. Data were collected through observations, documentation, and questionnaires administered to 48 teachers selected using a saturated sampling technique. The research instrument was validated using Aiken’s V and tested for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha. Data were analyzed using simple and multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that academic procrastination has no significant effect on teachers’ work stress (p = 0.897), whereas time management has a significant effect (p < 0.001). Simultaneously, academic procrastination and time management explain 44.2% of the variance in teachers’ work stress. These findings suggest that teachers are generally capable of completing academic tasks despite delaying their execution, indicating that procrastination does not necessarily increase work stress. In contrast, ineffective time management contributes substantially to elevated stress levels, particularly when teachers face heavy workloads and strict deadlines. Under certain circumstances, academic procrastination may function as a temporary coping strategy that helps teachers regulate psychological pressure arising from demanding work schedules. Therefore, improving time management skills may be a more effective strategy for reducing teachers’ work stress than focusing solely on minimizing procrastination.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how educational transformation is interpreted as an investment in human capital to enhance labor productivity in the digital era. Previous studies have mainly examined the relationship between education and productivity through quantitative macro-level indicators, while individuals’ subjective experiences in interpreting education as human capital investment remain underexplored. This study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to understand participants’ lived experiences in digital-based learning and work contexts. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation involving five participants selected through purposive and snowball sampling. The data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal five main themes: the shift toward self-directed learning, the relevance of education to labor market needs, the internalization of moral and spiritual values in shaping work ethics, adaptability to technological change, and the formation of professional identity. These findings indicate that educational transformation does not automatically improve labor productivity. Its effectiveness depends on how individuals internalize, interpret, and apply their learning experiences in real work situations. This study contributes to human capital and Islamic education management studies by emphasizing the role of subjective experience, values, and adaptability in linking education with productivity. Future research is recommended to involve more diverse participants and apply mixed-method approaches to obtain a broader understanding of educational transformation.

Abstract

This study explores Hidayat Nur Wahid’s concept of integrative pesantren education and its implications for pesantren governance in Indonesia following the enactment of Law Number 18 of 2019 on Pesantren. Integrative pesantren is conceptualized as an educational model that systematically integrates classical Islamic scholarship with modern scientific knowledge within a unified institutional framework. The study aims to analyze this concept from an educational management perspective, examine its implications for governance, leadership, curriculum, and quality management, and formulate strategic recommendations for strengthening pesantren management. A qualitative library research approach was employed using content analysis of Hidayat Nur Wahid’s writings, the Pesantren Law, and relevant scholarly literature. Data were analyzed through the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings demonstrate that integrative pesantren management is founded on four interrelated dimensions: curriculum integration, methodological integration, epistemological integration, and institutional integration. Furthermore, the implementation of the Pesantren Law requires adaptive governance that accommodates diverse pesantren typologies while addressing key managerial challenges, including transformational leadership, curriculum innovation, quality assurance, and financial governance. The study concludes that strengthening managerial capacity, developing context-sensitive quality standards, and enhancing institutional support are essential strategies for positioning integrative pesantren as a catalyst for educational transformation and sustainable national development toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
