Abstract

This community service program was designed to strengthen Qur’anic literacy among adults and older people through TSAQIFA-based training in Tanjung Selamat Village, North Sumatra. The program adopted a participatory training and mentoring approach. It was conducted on July 30, 2026, at Al Ikhlas Mosque, Tanjung Selamat Village, Padang Tualang District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. The program involved 50 adult and older participants. The training combined systematic instruction, practical exercises, and direct mentoring, focusing on the recognition of hijaiyah letters, understanding vowel marks, and reading Qur’anic words and verses. The participants demonstrated strong enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the program. The TSAQIFA approach enabled participants to follow the learning process progressively and systematically. Participants who initially experienced difficulties in reading the Qur’an demonstrated greater confidence and improved reading ability during the practical sessions. The activity suggests that TSAQIFA-based training can provide a practical and accessible approach to strengthening Qur’anic literacy among adults and older people. Its systematic, gradual, and participatory learning process can support community-based religious education and encourage continued engagement in Qur’anic learning.

Abstract

This service activity aims to improve the competence of economics teachers who are members of the Indonesian Economics Teachers Association (AGEI) of East Java Province through understanding the concepts of Deep Learning and Project Based Learning (PjBL) in 21st century learning. This program is motivated by teachers' low understanding of technology-based learning and the need to develop contextual and innovative teaching strategies. The method of the activity includes five stages: pre-training, training, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), implementation of technology application, and mentoring and evaluation. The results showed a significant improvement in teachers' ability to design TPACK-based lesson plans and integrate digital technologies such as Google Classroom. The evaluation showed an increase in teacher competence by 27%, with 87% of participants interested in participating in advanced training. The program has proven effective in strengthening the professionalism of economics teachers and supporting active, collaborative, and skill-oriented learning for the 21st century.
