Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to enhance the digital literacy capacity of tourism managers, fishermen, and local artisans through training on creating promotional content, utilizing social media, and managing sustainable family tourism packages. The implementation method uses a participatory approach, including coordination, training, mentoring, and evaluation stages. The activity intervention also includes the installation of eight fish aggregating devices (FADs) as family-friendly fishing spots and a means of restoring fish habitats degraded due to coral reef damage. The results of the activity show an improvement in participants' skills in creating digital content (photos, videos, and promotional narratives), the formation of a local creative group called Digital Ranger, and increased community involvement in online tourism promotion. In conclusion, the synergy between physical innovation through the development of marine tourism facilities and the strengthening of digital literacy can empower communities in managing tourism destinations. The novelty of this activity lies in the integration between the installation of artificial reefs as an ecotourism innovation and community-based digital literacy training, making Untung Jawa Island a model for developing competitive and sustainable coastal digital tourism villages.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted in Barugae Village and aimed to empower instant ginger UMKM by improving digital literacy and implementing social media-based marketing innovations. This activity employed a participatory approach, including needs identification, development of training modules, digital literacy training, implementation support, and monitoring and evaluation. The results demonstrated improved participant skills in creating social media business accounts, designing creative promotional content, and utilizing interactive features to expand market reach. Furthermore, UMKM motivation to innovate in digital marketing strategies increased, resulting in an increase in social media followers and increased demand for instant ginger products. This activity emphasized the crucial role of innovation and social media in facing competition and serving as a sustainable model for strengthening the competitiveness of superior village products.

Abstract

This community service aimed to assess the effectiveness of SADARI education in increasing knowledge of early breast cancer detection among 9th-grade female students at SMP Negeri 2 Kerambitan. The activity used a quasi-experimental approach with a one-group pre-test and post-test design involving 76 participants. Educational interventions were conducted through interactive lectures and live demonstrations explaining the concept, purpose, procedure, and benefits of SADARI. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge after the intervention. Before education, 82.43% had good knowledge, increasing to 94.59% afterward. This indicates that SADARI education effectively enhances students’ understanding and awareness of breast cancer prevention. It is recommended that schools routinely integrate SADARI education into adolescent reproductive health programs.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity is motivated by the limited utilization of digital technology in developing learning media within the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) environment, particularly at MI Nurul Jadid Kolomayan, Wonodadi Blitar. In the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes differentiated learning and technology utilization, teachers at MI Nurul Jadid Kolomayan Wonodadi Blitar face challenges in designing attractive, interactive media that meets students' needs. Therefore, this training program is designed to enhance teachers' competence in designing and developing digital technology-based learning media such as Canva, interactive PowerPoint, Quizizz, and other simple applications. The implementation method employs a participatory approach, intensive mentoring, and hands-on practice that actively involves teachers as subjects. This activity aims not only to increase knowledge and technical skills but also to build positive attitudes toward the adoption of digital technology in learning. The training results show a significant improvement in teachers' understanding of digital media design principles and their ability to independently produce learning media. Thus, this activity is expected to strengthen an innovative learning ecosystem and support the enhancement of teacher competence and educational quality at the madrasah ibtidaiyah level. The sustainability of this program will be directed toward strengthening digital-based teacher learning communities and cross-madrasah collaboration.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the administrative management of Qur’anic Learning Centers in South Purwokerto through continuous mentoring. The program adopts a Community-Based Research (CBR) approach consisting of four main stages: laying the foundation, planning, information collection and analysis, and action based on the findings. The participants of this program were teachers of Qur’anic Learning Centers in South Purwokerto. Initial findings indicated that the administrative completeness of Qur’anic Learning Centers institutions was relatively low. Of the twenty-four types of administrative documents that should be available, only 55.50% of Qur’anic Learning Centers had met the required standards, while the remaining 44.50% did not yet possess adequate administrative documentation. To address this issue, a series of activities was conducted, including administrative management training, institutional mentoring, intensive coaching and field audits, as well as a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to explore implications and evaluate the program. The program involved various stakeholders, including Badko LPQ (Coordinating Agency for Qur'anic Education Institutions) the Qur’anic Learning Centers of South Purwokerto Subdistrict and Banyumas Regency, the Takmir of Al-Birru Mosque, and academics from State Islamic University Saizu Purwokerto who served as resource persons and facilitators. The evaluation results show a significant improvement in the quality of Qur’anic Learning Center administrative management. Document completeness increased from 55.50% to 92.33%, while the proportion of institutions that had not yet met administrative standards decreased to 7.67%. The findings indicate that a systematic, collaborative, and sustained mentoring model is effective in enhancing the administrative management capacity of Qur’anic Learning Center teachers and administrators, enabling them to perform their duties in a more orderly, transparent, and accountable. The community service initiative provides strong evidence that strengthening administrative management through continuous assistance can significantly contribute to improving institutional capacity, managerial professionalism, and the overall quality of Qur’anic education services in South Purwokerto

Abstract

The jumputan batik training activity for children at the Pamulang Orphanage is a community service program that aims to improve the creative skills and economic independence of orphanage children. This training was initiated by PPG Pre-service students of the Open University in the framework of the Leadership Project task as an implementation of leadership values, social empathy, and educational innovation based on local culture. Jumputan batik was chosen because the technique is simple, environmentally friendly, and has high economic value. The implementation method consists of initial observation, licensing, preparation of activity plans, direct training, mentoring, and evaluation of the work. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the aspects of creativity, confidence, and interest in children's hand skills activities. The main obstacles in the form of time and material limitations are overcome with adaptive activity management. This training provides dual benefits: for orphanage children as a form of culture-based empowerment, and for students as a vehicle for leadership development and social responsibility.

Abstract

This community service program aims to prevent child marriage through a Community-Based Research (CBR) approach that emphasizes active community participation in formulating needs-based solutions. The intervention was implemented over eight weeks through social mapping, the development of BERSAMA educational modules, training for adolescents and peer educators, an educational media campaign, and participatory evaluation. Descriptive statistical analysis showed that in the initial phase, most adolescents had low to moderate knowledge regarding reproductive health, psychological readiness, and religious understanding of marriage. After the intervention, adolescents' knowledge levels improved, as evidenced by a decrease in the number of adolescents with low knowledge and an increase in the number of adolescents with moderate and high knowledge. In addition to these quantitative achievements, the CBR approach strengthened community capacity through the formation of a shared understanding among adolescents, families, religious leaders, and village stakeholders regarding the importance of psychological, social, and spiritual readiness before marriage. This service program not only increased individual awareness but also contributed to the formation of a conceptual framework for adolescent policies and services at the village level.
