Abstract

This activity adopts a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, implemented through iterative cycles of observation, reflection, and collaborative action. The program actively involves youth as facilitators and cooperative members as participants, supported by Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions that equip the core KSPPS NURI team to disseminate knowledge on digital financing, sharia literacy, and entrepreneurship. Program outcomes show a 180% increase in digital financing disbursement during 2023–2025, driven by the use of the KSPPS NURI Mobile application, bank transfers, and digital wallets, alongside an 85% level of program independence without external dependency. Members’ digital and financial literacy improved significantly, reducing reliance on cash transactions and increasing operational efficiency, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of poverty reduction and inclusive economic growth. Youth engagement strengthened social solidarity, enhanced UMKM competitiveness, and reinforced sharia compliance. For future development, the study recommends a tripartite partnership involving universities, cooperatives, and local governments to optimize and replicate hybrid financial inclusion models across East Java.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the critical thinking abilities of teachers and Final-year students at Raden Paku Modern Islamic Boarding School (Trenggalek) through an approach based on the story of Prophet Ibrahim in the Qur’an. The story of Prophet Ibrahim was chosen because it contains deep reflective, rational, and spiritual values, and is highly relevant for fostering a culture of analytical and argumentative thinking within the pesantren environment. The methods used in this activity included several stages: identifying problems and partner needs, planning, implementation of the training, evaluation, and follow-up planning through a service-learning approach. The results of the program indicate an improvement in participants’ ability to identify arguments, think logically, and connect faith-based values with rational thinking. This activity successfully fostered an awareness that critical thinking is not a form of resistance to religious doctrine, but rather part of the search for deeper faith and meaning, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

Abstract

This community service program aims to empower farmers in Sunsea Village, Naibenu District, North Central Timor Regency, through the establishment of an Organic Fertilizer Processing Unit (UPPO) to process agricultural waste into solid and liquid organic fertilizer. Using a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA)-based training and mentoring method, the program was implemented from June to August 2024 through socialization, training in UPPO and organic fertilizer production, and monitoring and evaluation with the active participation of the community as facility providers and production actors. Results showed improved farmer skills in waste processing, cost efficiency of chemical fertilizers, independence in fertilizer production, and a reduction in organic waste that was previously burned or disposed of. Economic impacts include additional income through fertilizer marketing, while environmental benefits are realized from improved soil structure and reduced pollution. Key constraints include limited raw materials during the dry season, varied community skills, and limited marketing networks, which are addressed through storage systems, advanced training, and strengthening farmer groups. This program has the potential to be replicated in other agrarian villages to support sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Literacy and numeracy are fundamental competencies that should be developed from an early age to support children’s cognitive, language, and logical thinking development. This community service activity aimed to foster reading interest and strengthen basic numeracy skills in early childhood through the Cheerful Numeracy Literacy Movement. The program was implemented at PAUD Az-Zahrah and RA Muslimat NU VII Pademawu, Pamekasan by providing a literacy–numeracy reading corner, conducting sharing sessions with teachers and parents, and introducing creative literacy–numeracy learning media. The reading corner was equipped with child-friendly materials such as picture books, educational fairy tales, children’s encyclopedias, and story-based mathematics books. Evaluation using questionnaires showed very positive responses, with mean scores of 3.37-3.62 on a four-point scale. Although long-term assistance and monitoring have not been optimally implemented, this program demonstrates strong potential as an initial model for strengthening early childhood literacy and numeracy through collaborative and creative learning environments.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to align the reasoning of fiqh muamalah with the technical aspects of Islamic banking through a paradigm shift among teachers at Madrasah Diniyah and Islamic boarding schools in Maron Village, Blitar, as the primary target, using the Service Learning method integrated with the Experiential Learning model, to enhance literacy in Islamic financial products as a preventive measure against non-Islamic financial practices among religious educators. The method employed is a qualitative approach using the Service Learning method integrated through the Experiential Learning model. The sample was determined using purposive sampling, involving 20 teachers at the Al-Hikmah Foundation. The results of this community service project indicate that the integration of Service Learning and Experiential Learning effectively enriches understanding of the theoretical aspects of classical Islamic texts, leading to the practical application of banking products and contracts that are adaptable to current realities. Experience-based learning through realistic contract simulations has proven capable of building administrative trust and enhancing Islamic financial inclusion within the pesantren environment. The synergy between fiqh reasoning and banking techniques has resulted in a collaborative initiative for self-reliant capital based on mudharabah contracts as a preventive measure against non-Islamic financial practices, aimed at supporting the welfare of society and the sustainable economic independence of the Muslim community in Indonesia.

Abstract

Limited knowledge and awareness about the dangers of smoking often contribute to the early adoption of smoking habits among students. Therefore, educational initiatives are needed to increase students’ understanding of the risks associated with smoking. This community service activity was conducted through a health education program for students in a school setting using lectures, presentations, and interactive discussions. The materials covered the harmful substances in cigarettes, the health impacts of smoking, and preventive strategies to avoid smoking behavior. The results indicated that the activity improved students’ knowledge and awareness of the dangers of smoking and encouraged them to adopt healthier life styles. Students also demonstrated active participation during the discussion session. These findings suggest that health education programs can be an effective approach to preventing smoking behavior among adolescents.
