Abstract

This study analyzes research trends and knowledge networks on eco-anxiety using a bibliometric approach with the support of VOSviewer software. Data were collected from 100 articles indexed in Google Scholar and published between 2018 and 2024. The results indicate a significant increase in publications, particularly since 2020, with a peak in 2024. Publications authored by Panu Pihkala occupy a central position with the highest citation counts, followed by studies by Stanley, Hogg, and Coffey, which expand the discourse on measurement, psychological impacts, and intervention strategies. Keyword mapping generated seven major clusters encompassing emotional dimensions (eco-guilt, eco-grief, coping), the relationship between eco-anxiety and pro-environmental actions, youth vulnerability, environmental education, and the role of social factors in shaping ecological anxiety. Temporal analysis reveals a shift in research focus from conceptualization toward intervention strategies and collective action. These findings highlight that eco-anxiety is a multidimensional issue relevant to psychology, education, mental health, and public policy, while also opening opportunities for cross-cultural research and the development of adaptive instruments to manage this phenomenon constructively

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe: 1) the story structure that appears in the short story collection Bulan Sesa; and 2) the image of Sundanese women that appears in the short story collection Bulan Sesa. The method used is descriptive-analytical, which aims to describe the structure and image that appears in the short stories. The technique used is literature study, the results are: 1) the theme that appears in the short stories is about the fate of oppressed women, because they face simple but complex problems. The storyline that appears in the short story collection Bulan Sesa is between the beginning, middle, and end, each event is continuous. In these three parts, there are stages of introducing the situation, the emergence of problems, conflicts, climax, and even the resolution stages. The settings in this collection of stories include the setting of the place where the events occur, the setting of the place as a description, the setting of the time when the events occur, the setting of the time that shows the description, the setting of the time that shows the period, and the social setting. The characters that appear are mostly female characters. The characteristics depicted are women who are devout, both to their worship and to their husbands. 2) The images of women depicted in Imas Rohilah's stories mostly depict marginalized women, who have the strength to fight against the majority. It is recommended that there be more feminist research, especially on the images that appear in the novels. Meanwhile, the analysis needs to consider the issue of time. For example, studying the feminism of Sundanese novels before the war, after the war, the New Order, or literary objects used and written by the current generation.

Abstract

This article focuses on examining the current condition and tourism management of the Mantingan Tomb Mosque in Jepara Regency. This research aims to analyze the potential of the Mantingan Cemetery Mosque as a religious tourism asset in Jepara Regency. This article uses observation and historical methods that include heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results show that although the physical condition of the Mantingan Cemetery Mosque is well maintained and has high historical value as a relic of Queen Kalinyamat in the 16th century, its tourism management is still not optimal. The management of the area carried out by the Mantingan Tomb and Mosque Complex Foundation is more focused on religious activities rather than tourism development. The management of Mantingan Tomb Mosque is still passive and minimal intervention, so a comprehensive development strategy is needed to optimize the potential of religious tourism that can boost the regional economy.

Abstract

This article focuses on the value shifts in the traditional art of Kuda Lumping as a result of the influence of modernity, by taking a case study of the Margi Wijaya art group in Asinan Village, Semarang Regency. The purpose of this article is to find out the changes in performance elements such as music, costumes, and dance movements that have undergone significant transformations to suit the tastes and interests of today's audiences. This research uses field observation and historical methods to trace the process of change over time. The observation method is carried out directly to the field then combined with the historical method consisting of heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results showed that traditional gamelan-based music began to be replaced with electronic music that was more rhythmic and attractive. Dancer costumes, which were originally simple and full of symbolic meaning, are now more colourful and modern. Dance movements have also been adjusted to be more dynamic and entertaining. These changes reflect a shift in values from religious and traditional orientations towards entertainment and popular aesthetics. Nevertheless, the Margi Wijaya group still tries to maintain traditional elements as local cultural identity. This study shows that traditional arts are not completely extinct in the flow of modernity but are transformed through an ongoing process of adaptation and value negotiation.

Abstract

This article focuses on the preservation of Wayang Potehi amidst the modernization of the Chinese community in Semarang City. This research aims to analyze in depth the efforts to preserve Wayang Potehi as a traditional performing art that has become the cultural identity of the Chinese community in Semarang City, amidst the current modernization and changes in the lifestyle of the younger generation, and the existence of Wayang Potehi which faces serious threats. The methods used in this article are observation and history, which include heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, as well as data collection through interviews with puppeteers, temple administrators, and art community members, accompanied by direct observation of performances and studio activities. The results show that the main challenge of Wayang Potehi preservation lies in the lack of regeneration of puppeteers and puppet craftsmen, as well as the lack of interest of the younger generation. However, a number of strategies have been implemented, such as regular training, the active role of the Tek Gie Hien studio, cooperation with the temple, and the use of digital media as a means of promotion and education. This study concludes that the preservation of Wayang Potehi requires collaboration between local communities, cultural institutions and technology to remain relevant in the modern era.

Abstract

The maleo bird (Macrocephalon maleo) is an endemic species of Sulawesi that holds both ecological and symbolic value for local communities. The distribution of the maleo is not only determined by ecological factors such as habitat availability, environmental suitability for nesting, climate change, and predator threats, but is also closely related to the socio-cultural dynamics of the surrounding communities. This article discusses the socio-cultural meaning of the maleo distribution map with an emphasis on a community-based conservation perspective. Through geospatial data and the exploration of local wisdom practices, it is evident that maleo distribution areas often intersect with the social spaces of indigenous communities, settlements, and symbols of collective identity. The presence of the maleo is regarded as part of cultural heritage passed down through generations, giving rise to traditional protection practices, such as restrictions on excessive egg collection or the designation of customary areas as conservation zones. The community-based perspective shows that conservation is not only focused on species preservation but also on strengthening the role of local communities as key actors. By integrating ecological distribution and socio-cultural values, maleo conservation efforts are expected to be more effective, adaptive, and sustainable. This article emphasizes that the success of maleo conservation largely depends on the recognition of the cultural values attached to its distribution as well as the active participation of communities in Sulawesi.

Abstract

This practice-based research investigates how the symbolic features of Malay keris blade patterns can be reinterpreted in contemporary abstract sculpture. The study aims to explore traditional symbolism as a source of sculptural innovation and develop a method for translating intangible heritage into material form. Circularity, angularity, and ovality signifying hope, resilience, and protection were reimagined through three maquettes in wire and concrete. The process combined visual research, engagement with keris smiths, hermeneutic analysis, and iterative studio inquiry. The resulting forms layered helices, branching arcs, and planar folds evoke the stratified blade patterns (pamor) while establishing a new sculptural language. This research contributes: (1) a methodology for transforming cultural symbolism into contemporary form; (2) evidence of how abstraction sustains heritage narratives; and (3) adaptable design principles for public art and creative industries. The project positions the keris as a living cultural signifier and opens pathways for integrating Southeast Asian craft traditions into modern art and design.

Abstract

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterised by intrusive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and the compulsion to perform repetitive actions to alleviate anxiety. This practice-based study investigates how OCD can be represented through paintings by utilising the visual elements of colour repetition and structured compositions. These artistic techniques are employed to reflect the cyclical, obsessive nature of the disorder, allowing for an exploration of its emotional and psychological impact. The research includes an analysis of existing artworks that address mental health, consultations with individuals living with OCD, and the creation of a series of paintings that embody the disorder's symptoms. Through colour repetition, the study symbolically portrays compulsive behaviour, while varied compositional structures represent the structured yet chaotic thoughts experienced by those with OCD. Additionally, the research examines how specific colours can evoke emotions such as anxiety, distress, and relief, which are prevalent in OCD. The study underscores the potential of fine art as a medium to express and communicate complex mental health experiences, aiming to raise awareness of OCD and offer a novel perspective on how painting can be used as a tool for mental health dialogue and understanding.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of religion in the public space in Indonesia during the era of globalization. Using a qualitative approach with library research and content analysis, the study applies Peter Beyer’s theory of globalization and religion to analyze the interaction between religious and global forces in Indonesia through four key dimensions: economic, political, cultural, and social systems. The findings reveal that although Indonesia is not a theocratic state, religion continues to play a significant role in both state affairs and the social life of modern Indonesian society. This research highlights how religion adapts and transforms in response to globalization, maintaining its public relevance despite predictions of secularization.
