Abstract

The trading of palm oil in the world from year to year increasing. Along with improvement request of palm oil needed by a adequate palm plantation development. Indonesia as second biggest producer in world also have the importance to extend areal palm plantation. The Extension potency of palm plantation instructed in East Indonesia region. One of big potency is Papua. For development palm plantation in Papua needed a feasibility study. The result of feasibility study an IRR (Internal Rate of Return) of 19.77%; a NPV (Net Present Value) of Rp.180.956.970.000,00; a Profitability Index of 1,11; a BEP (Break Event Point) of 11.499.970 kilograms and Payback Period of 6 year and 2 month. Based on this study, development of Palm plantation is feasible to be implementation in Papua

Abstract

Canopy hyperspectral with various growth stages measured by using field spectroradiometer (350 - 1000 nm) corresponded to leaf Nitrogen content of three rice cultivars (Ciherang, Cilamaya and IR64) during growth season in Java Island,Indonesia. Coinciding with hyperspectral measurement, biochemical parameter such as leaf Nitrogen content (g/100 gr) was analyzed from destructive biomass sample through laboratory analysis. The potential narrow band in the red edgeregion was investigated to predict leaf nitrogen content (N content) with applying modified polynomial interpolation (MPI) and modified four points linear interpolation (MFLI) methods. First derivative reflectance derived from reflectance data andsubsequently used in analysis of Red Edge Position (REP). The correlation REPMFLI was generally stronger than REP-MPI attributed to leaf N content for several level of N application that indicated by value of R2. The response of REP-MFLItoward N level 69 kg/ha exhibited the most significant correlation (R2 = 0.754) than other correlations. Meanwhile, the response of REP-MPI toward N level 161 kg/ha denoted the most significant correlation (R2 = 0.8) than other correlations. The highest correlation using REP-MPI (R2 = 0.8) to predict leaf N contentdemonstrated slightly higher than that of REP- MFLI (R2 = 0.754). In general both REP-MFLI and REP-MPI represented somewhat similar response toward N levels, such as 103.5 kg/h, 115 kg/ha. The exploration of characteristics of red edge shiftis a fundamental point in developing rapid and precise prediction for biochemical parameter. In addition, its prediction capability was promising to support crop farming management.

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) compare the characterization between rusip with Streptococcus sp. and without it, and (2) evaluate chemical, and microbiological. This research done in some steps which was (1) preparation of liquid starter, (2) making of dry starter, (3) application of Streptococcus sp. dry starter to rusip, the water content, level of acidity (pH), total lactic acid bacterial, total fungi, salt content and Nitrogen Volatile Total (NVT) are being monitory. The data were analysed by descriptively. Rusip that fermented for seven days with adding of Streptococcus sp.dry culture produced better pH, total of lactic acid bacterial, salt content, NVT content and also produce higher water content compare with spontaneously fermented rusip. However rusip fermented with adding of Streptococcus sp. dry starter still had weakness that was produce more fungi than spontaneouslyfermented rusip. Characteristic of rusip that fermented with adding of Streptococcus sp. dry starter were : content 57,87% of water, 5,77 pH, 3,98 x 1011 cfu/g of total lactic acid bacterial, 24,64% salt and 51,43 mgN/100g NVT

Abstract

Probiotics is a feed additive in the form of life microorganisms that balance microorganism population in the digestive tract. This research was conducted to study the effect of addition of probiotics product into drinking water on performance. One hundred and fifty birds of day old chicks (DOC) of “Hybro-AM”strain were divided into 5 groups of treatments. The treatments were R0 (control diet+ drinking water without probiotics), R1 (R0 + Temban), R2 (R0 + Biolacta), R3 (R0 + Biovet), and R4 (commercial diet). Chicken were given diet and drinkingwater ad libitum. Feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion were measured weekly and income over feed and cost (IOFC). Local feed (control died) and control with probiotics are feed with self formulation (R0, and R1 – R3). Thecontrol feed ingredient used are corn, rice brand, fish meal, hull soybean mea, palm oil, grit,DCP and premix. Results showed that treatments did not give significant effect (P>0,05) on feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion. The result of Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC), shows that feed with control diet with probiotics Temban are best alternatif to pressure high price of feed and useable by farmer.

Abstract

Gambier is the extract of Uncaria gambir Roxb leaves. The use of gambier in mouthwash formulae is one of the efforts of exploring gambier advantages. The existing commercialized mouthwash have quite a high alcohol. The use of a mouthwashes with alcohol contain more than of 25% will increase the risk of generating. mouth and throat cancers up to 50%. The objective of this research using to find the type and bestconcentration of gambier in the mouthwash formula, so that it could be have accepted by consumer. The experiment was in complete random factorial design with two factors andthree levels. The first factor was gambier concentration (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%), and the second factor was tud of storage (at weekly until one month). Result showed that gambier with low catechin (25-35%) and tannins (60-65%) had the highest resistance to Streptococcus mutans (up 41.77 %). The antibacterial activity of gambier mouthwash was in the range 20.45 - 43.24%, while the control (Pepsodent Herbal) was 28.25%. The pH of gambier mouthwash was 4.14 - 4.38, while that of the control was 4.66. The viscosity of the mouthwash was 2.75 - 4.75 cP, while the control was 7.25 cP. Both the gambier mouthwash and the control had showed that gambier mouthwash with gambier concentration of 1 % was the most preferred by consumers.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to analyse determinants of the influencing factors of the Indonesian Estate State-owned enterprises’ executive compensations; and (2) to analyse the relationship between compensation executive and firm performances. Statistical methods used for analysing these objectives were Structural Equation Model (SEM), contingency analysis, regresion analysis and qualitative analysis. The study found out that from all identified variables, executive decision mechanism, job complexity, firm size, firm ability to pay compensation, and product diversification and market expansionhad positive correlation and significant influenced to executive compensation. Human capital, business risk, executive employment market had significant correlations to executive compensation. The research had also shown a result that executive compensation provide positive correlation and significant influence towards financial performance (EBIT), customer performance (sales volume, output price, market area), internal process performance (OER target, OER realisation), and growth and learning performance (number of training investment, number of employees participated intraining). However, executive compensation did not give positive correlation and significant influenced towards financial performance (ROE) and customer performance(market share). This research also showed that direction of executive compensation was heading to company’s performance and not the opposite way.

Abstract

The industrial and population growth in Java leads to converse the land function from the agriculture to industrial, estate and high way. Therefore, the development of agriculture must be relocated to outside Java, where there are a lot of land available. One agricultural of problems in outsideJava is the lack of labour especially for land cultivation and other which need many labour.The use of mechanical appliance. is the best alternative to overcome that problem. This research was assessed four aspects for applying of mechanical appliance in lebak bog farm. The objective of the research was to extend the use mechanical appliance to increase farm production, farmer income and tractor interpreneur income.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to investigate the phenotypic performances as qualitative of three potato clones resulted from protoplasm fusion (A5) and two clones from seeds(PAS3063 and PAS3064) which had been identified to be resistant to bacterial wilt disease (Ralstonia solanacearum). The commercial potato varieties (Granola and Atlantic)were used as a comparison varieties. All five varieties were produced from mini tuber G0. The result of qualitative performance that more prominent were on A5 clonewith the characters that the branch was red, tuber skin was purple/violet and it could produce the bloom. Meanwhile, the branch of another clone was green, tuber skin wasyellow/brown, and it could not produce the bloom, except PAS3064 clone and Atlantic even though it was not much. The color of fruit flesh was white except on Granola whichwas yellow. The result of cluster analysis that based on the character from each plant showed that PAS3064 was closed to Atlantic variety characteristic, PAS3063 was closed to Granola variety, and A5 different from both commercial varieties.

Abstract

The study was conducted to know the influence of a- tocoferrol additional into the egg yolk tris extender medium to the liquid semen quality of “Garut” lamb (Ovis aries). Parameter which had been evaluated i.e. percentages of progressive motile sperm, percentages of viable sperm and percentages of plasma membrane. On the 4 th day evaluation showed that the addition of a- tocoferrol with the dose 0,04 g/100 ml into the egg yolk tris extender produced the highest percentages ofprogressive motile sperm, percentages of viable sperm and percentages of plasma membrane ( 49,0 ± 6,5%; 68,6 ± 4,2% and 59,3 ± 6,5% ) but there were not significantly different from control ( 45,5 ± 5%; 66,0 ± 4,6% and 56,2 ± 5,7% )and the addition of a- tocoferrol with the dose 0,02 g/100 ml ( 49,0 ± 6,5%; 66,6 ± 4,0% and 59,3 ± 2,8% ) respectively. In conclusion, the addition of a-tocoferrol in the egg yolk tris extender medium no significant effect on the liquid semen quality.

Abstract

Currently enzymes become a need of food and non-food industries. Alpha amylase (a-1,4 glucanohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.1) is an enzyme that hydrolyses starch into oligosaccharides and dextrin. The enzyme has been commercially available which mostly produced by Bacillus spp. The bacterium used in thisexperiment was Bacillus sp SW2, which was isolated from Composting Unit at Bumi Serpong Damai, Tangerang. The aim of this experiment was to find the most appropriate starch as an carbon source for enzyme production. The starches observed were tapioca, potato, and cornstarch at concentration of5%. The fermentation was conducted in shaking incubator, in 125 ml Erlenmeyer at 60°C, various pHs, and agitations. The pHs observed were 6, 7.5, 8 and 9 while the rates of agitation applied were 150, 200, and 250 rpm. The results showed that the highest enzyme activity was 20.99 Unit/ml, whichwas reached after 42 hours of fermentation using cornstarch, pH 8 and 200 rpm agitation.
