Abstract

During 2000-2005 period, Gerbangkertosusila Area (G-12 Area) in East Java Province has been growth rapidly. But, hypothetically, this area fall in diseconomies of scale and competitiveness decreasing at national level. Using the regional diseconomies of scale and regional competitiveness approachs, this paper analyzed the hypothetic of diseconomies of scale and competitiveness decreasing in G-12 Area. The result of analysis show that G-12 Area has been diseconomies of scale and competitiveness decreasing in many macroeconomic indicators, i.e. contribution of gross value added, income per capita, contribution of export, absorption of domestic and foreign investment, quantity of medium and large scale industries, and fiscal capacity.

Abstract

Tulisan ini menampilkan beberapa hasil pengujian parameter turbin gas daripembangkit listrik tenaga gas dan uap (PLTGU) ”Tanjung Priok Gas Fired Power Plant Extension Project (740 MW)”. Dari pengujian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa untuk power turbin gas 184 MW, konsumsi bahan bakar adalah 51.6 m3/h dengan komposisi gas buang adalah CO2 adalah 0.4 % volume, SO2 adalah1.1 ppm, NOx adalah 1.4 ppm dimana harga ini masih dalam batas-batas yang dipersyaratkan secara teknis. Getaran tertinggi terjadi pada bantalan no 2 yakni sebesar 56 um pada arah x dan 54 um pada arah y.

Abstract

The rice production in Indonesia is not balance with the population rate. Thiscondition is caiseb by the productive agriculture land is coverted into housing area,industries/factories, roads, etc. The “Rawa Lebak” has a high potential to bedeveloped become productive agricultural land. But, there are severval constrainswhich have to be overcome, that is the source of water, where where in the dryseason there are drought and in the rainy season there are fload, the land is notfertile, and produtivity is low. Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) District have “ Rawa Lebak”land area to a high of 164,034 hectars. In not deep and middle “rawa lebak” typeshave high potensial to be developed irrigation agricultural land trough technologyapplication in water management ang cultivation which can increase theagricultural index to 3 times anually and rice production reach to a high of 7,00tons/ha (dry reap). Therefore, “rawa lebak” can be used as alternative in theagriculture developmen outside Jawa.

Abstract

Oyster mushroom ( Pleurotus ostreatus ) is one of the edible mushroom because it has a relatively high content of nutrients , delicious taste , easy cultivation , and relatively cheap , and easily available in the market . The specialty is the oyster mushrooms contain beta - glucans and has antioxidant activity . Beta - glucans can be as immunomodulators , by stimulating the body's defense system by activating macrophages to capture and destroy foreign substances in the body such as viruses , bacteria , fungi and parasites .Oyster mushrooms processed food than as an alternative of nutrition because it contains fiber , protein / amino acids , carbohydrates , minerals , fats and beta - glucan . Processed foods as well as oyster mushrooms can be an alternative source of income because it can increase the value added . For example dumplings , nuggets , sausages , flavor, shredded, crackers, a health drink etc. Oyster mushrooms processed foods deserve to be disseminated to the public in an effort to meet nutrition for promote health.Jamur tiram (Pleurotus ostreatus) merupakan salah satu jamur yang dapat dimakan karena memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang cukup tinggi, lezat rasanya, mudah budidayanya, dan relatif murah harganya, serta mudah diperoleh di pasaran. Keistimewaan jamur tiram adalah mengandung beta-glukan dan mempunyai aktifitas antioksidan. Beta-glukan dapat sebagai immunomodulator, dengan cara menstimulasi sistem pertahanan tubuh dengan mengaktifasi makrofag untuk menangkap dan menghancurkan benda asing dalam tubuh seperti virus, bakteri, fungi dan parasit. Pangan olahan jamur tiram selain sebagai alternatif pemenuhan nutrisi karena mengandung serat, protein/asam amino, karbohidrat, mineral, lemak serta beta-glukan . Pangan olahan jamur tiram dapat juga sebagai alternatif sumber pendapatan karena dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah. Contohnya pangan olahan jamur tiram adalah siomay, nugget, sosis, penyedap rasa, abon, kerupuk, minuman kesehatan dan lain-lain. Berbagai pangan olahan jamur tiram layak disosialisasikan kepada masyarakat dalam upaya pemenuhan nutrisi untuk meningkatkan kesehatan.Keywords: Pleurotus ostreatus, nutrition, processed food, beta glucans

Abstract

Chitosan, a modification of shrimp-shell waste, has been utilized as microcapsule. However, it’s fragile gel property needs to be strengthened by adding glutaraldehyde (glu) and natural hydrocolloid guar gum (gg). This research’s purposes were to study dissolution behaviour of ketoprofen and infar through optimum chitosan-guar gum microcapsule. Into 228.6 mL of 1.75% (w/v) chitosan solution in 1% (v/v) acetic acid,38.1 mL of gg solution was added with concentration variation of 0.35, 0.55, and 0.75% (w/v) for ketoprofen microcapsules and 0.05, 0.19, and 0.33% (w/v) for infar microcapsules, and stirred with magnetic stirrer until homogenous. Afterwards, 7.62mL of glu was added slowly under stirring, with concentrations varied: 3, 3.5, and 4% (v/v) for ketoprofen microcapsules, and 4, 4.5, and 5% (v/v) for infar microcapsules. All mixtures were shaked for 20 minutes for homogenization. All mixtures wereshaked for 20 minutes for homogenization. Into each microcapsule mixture for ketoprofen, a solution of 2 g of ketoprofen in 250 mL of 96% ethanol was added, whereas solution of 100 mg of in 250 mL of 96% ethanol was added into each microcapsule mixture for infar. Every mixture was then added with 5 mL of 2% Tween-80 and stirred with magnetic stirrer for an hour at room temperature. Conversion of suspension into fine powders/granules (microcapsules) was done by using spray dryer. The data of [gg], [glu], and medicine’s content from each microcapsule were treated with Minitab 14 software to obtain optimum [gg] and [glu] for microencapsulation. The dissolution behaviour of optimum ketoprofen and infar microcapsules were investigated. The result of optimization by using Minitab Release 14 software showed that among the microcapsule compositions of [gg] and [glu] were 0.35% (w/v) and 3.75% (v/v), respectively, optimum to coat ketoprofen, whereas [gg] and [glu] of 0.05% (w/v) and4.00% (v/v), respectively, optimum to coat infar, at constant chitosan concentration (1.75% [w/v]). In vitro dissolution profile showed that chitosan-guar gum gel microcapsule was more resistant in intestinal pH condition (rather basic) compared with that in gastric pH (very acidic).

Abstract

The research was carried out to study the effect of egg-yolk consentration and cholesterol suplementationto tris - 1.2% maltosa extender on the quality of frozen semen of garut rams. Semen was collected once a week using artificial vagina from six mature Garut rams. Semen was equilibrated at 5oC for three hours, frozen and stored in liquid nitrogen. The thawing was carried out at the temperature 30oC for 30 seconds. Percentages of motility and intact plasma membrane (IPM) parameters were evaluated every stage of freezing semen. The results show that there were no interaction between both treatmenst on the quality of garut rams frozen semen. In the cholesterol treatment, percentages of progressive motile sperm and intact plasma membrane in control (50,50% and 57,92%) were significantly different (P<0,05) than cholesterol 1,0 mg /100 ml treatment (37,08% and 49,42%) respectively. In conclusion, addition of 10% egg yolk concentrationto Tris –1.2% maltosa extender was not significantly different than 20% egg yolk concentration. The frozen semen quality of control produced the best quality semen compared toboth addition of 0.5mg/100 ml and 1.0 mg/100 ml cholesterol treatments. Cholesterol addition to egg yolk Tris – 1.2% maltosa causes degradation of frozen semen quality.Penelitian dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh konsentrasi kuning telur dan penambahan kolesterol pada pengencer semen Tris dengan maltosa 1,2% terhadap kualitas semen beku domba garut. Semen dikoleksi seminggu sekali dengan vagina buatan dari enam domba garut jantan. Semen diekuilibrasi pada suhu 5 oC selama tiga jam kemudian dibekukan dan disimpan di dalam nitrogen cair. Metode thawing dilakukan pada suhu 30oC selama 30 detik. Parameter persentase motilitas dan membran plasma utuh dievaluasi pada setiap tahap pembekuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada interaksi antara kedua perlakuan terhadap kualitas semen beku domba garut. Perlakuan kolesterol menunjukan bahwa persentase motilitas dan membran plasma utuk pada perlakuan kontrol (50,50% dan 57,92%) lebih tinggi dan berbeda nyata dibandingkan perlakuan1,0 mg/100ml kolesterol (37,08% dan 49,42%). Penambahan kuning telur 10% pada pengencer Tris dengan maltosa 1,2% menghasilkan kualitas semen tidak berbeda dengan penambahan kuninf telur 20%, Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa kualitas semen beku terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan kontrol lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan kolesterol 0,5 mg/100 ml dan 1,0 mg/100 ml. Penambahan kolesterol akan menurunkan kualitas semen beku domba garut.Keywords: cholesterol, motility, membrane plasm, garut ram, spermatozoa.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are to know the description of sugarcane enterprise especially concerning with coat and income, to know the sugarcane practice as a guide to farmers within their enterprise, and to increase input guarantee of raw material to sugarcane factory. The research was carriedout through gathering primary data by using questionaire with farmers as respondents. The respondents were selected by method of Stratified Purposive Random Sampling. The field survey was done in Bondowoso Regency, from 24th August untill 7th September 2004. The data was analyzed by using: hypothesis testing, break even point analysis, and sensitivity analysis. The results of the research show that the average of net farmers income from new planted sugarcane reach to a high of Rp. 4,507,584,-/year whereas from ratoon sugarcane reach to a high of Rp 3,272,307,-/year. The recommendation for sugarcane self sufficiency is by using productive arid land especially in Java with optimally agricultural inputs and cultivate according to standard operational procedure.

Abstract

Total Factor Productivity Growth (TFPG) is an approach to determine the role of technology progress on economic growth. The calculation of TFPG in this study is use the accounting growth method. Based on data in 1984-2007, TFPG of DKI Jakarta seen coincides with TFPG of Indonesia graphically. This is reinforced by the correlation coefficient value of 87.03 between them. DKI Jakarta provincial economy largely sustained by capital stock which is supported by the growth of TFP. For an accelerated economic growth throughsupport for a strong technology growth, required an atmosphere of economic, social and political stability in an effort to avoid a crisis as happened in 1998.

Abstract

Somatic embryogenesis is a process whereby somatic cells have differentiation in somatic embryos and it’s formed from embryonic cells due to the high polarization of uncontrolled cell division. The aim of this research is to produced shoots of rodent tuber via somatic embryos.Induction of somatic embryos from explants in MS media with N (2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-Nphenyl urea (CPPU) and continuous subculture in MS media without plant growth regulator for 1 month. Plantlet regeneration growth in liquid MS media with BAP and IBA fortified with 40 gr/l of sucrose in the dark. The result showed that somatic embryonic appears in media induction after 2 week and plantlet regeneration in 4 week. All plantlet growed from embryosomatic can survive 100% in field with normal shoot.
