Abstract

Background: The most crucial screening technique for the early identification and diagnosis of breast cancer is breast self-examination (BSE), in which women examine their breasts regularly to look for any abnormalities and seek immediate medical assistance. Objectives: To identify female students’ knowledge regarding the importance of breast self-examination. Methods: To evaluate female students' understanding of the significance and technique of breast self-examination, a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out. The study began on November 1st, 2023, and ended on March 30th, 2024. 200 female students made up the non-probability (purposeful) sample, and the study tool was a questionnaire. Following a thorough analysis of relevant studies and the body of existing literature, the questionnaire was adopted. Data collection began on February 4, 2024, and ended on February 15, 2024. The researcher then explained the study and its goals to the study sample, obtained verbal consent from the female students, and conducted direct interviews with the students to answer the questionnaire, which took roughly five to ten minutes. Results: The current study's researchers found that the majority of the sample was unmarried, that the age range of 20 to 29 was the highest and the third stage, that all of the participants had morning studies, and that most of them lived in center areas. They also found that most participants had a good level of knowledge regarding the significance of breast self-examination (BSE) and how to perform it, which was a good marker for this community segment and nursing students in particular. Abstract

Crude oil is a vital energy source due to its high thermal energy output and lower cost compared to other energy sources. This study aimed to identify key variables influencing Iraq’s oil revenues through a descriptive and analytical examination of Iraq’s oil exports in 2023. Data showed monthly fluctuations in the average price and quantity of crude oil exported, with prices ranging from $71.485 to $91.353 per barrel, reflecting a 7.5% increase compared to the previous year. An inverse relationship was observed between oil prices and export volumes, where higher prices typically increased production and exports, while lower prices reduced them. The findings highlight Iraq's heavy reliance on oil exports, exposing its economy to risks from fluctuating oil prices, deteriorating infrastructure, environmental restrictions, and international regulations. The study concluded that diversifying the economy and addressing these challenges is crucial. It recommends improving infrastructure by modernizing ports, roads, railways, and oil facilities while enhancing security measures to support the oil sector and reduce vulnerabilities. Highlights: Crude oil drives Iraq's economy but risks dependency vulnerabilities. Oil prices fluctuated in 2023, impacting production and export levels. Modernize infrastructure and secure facilities to stabilize oil exports. Keywords: Iraq, Oil Exports, Time Series Analysis

Abstract

Despite the increasing frequency of cattle in residential areas, particularly in residential neighbourhoods, little is known about the potential health hazards associated with their presence. This cross-sectional investigation examined the incidence of zoonotic agents in 108 cattle samples collected from various locations around Mosul city. The standardized medical examination and livestock owner interviews occurred from October 4 to December 18, 2024. We identified bacterial pathogens in samples from each animal's pharynx, nose, ear, mouth, and faeces. We determined that all of the cattle were in excellent health. Out of 108 cattle, 84 (or 78% of the total) tested positive for zoonotic agents. The principal pathogen was ESBL Escherichia coli (E. coli) isolated from 51 (60.7%) faecal samples. We isolated extended-spectrum beta-lactamase C. difficil organisms from 16 cows (19%). We isolated MRSA from 12 (14.3%), VRE from 3 (3.6%), and Salmonella spp. from 2 (2.4%) of the cows. ESBL E. coli showed significant resistance, particularly to amoxicillin (86.3%) and gentamicin (78.4%). Clostridium difficile exhibited complete resistance to amoxicillin (100%), while MRSA demonstrated full resistance to several antibiotics, including gentamicin and vancomycin. VRE and Salmonella spp. also displayed high resistance rates. Highlights: Zoonotic Agents in Cattle: 78% tested positive in residential areas. Pathogen Resistance: ESBL E. coli, MRSA, and others showed high resistance. Health Hazards: Antibiotic-resistant bacteria pose significant public health risks. Abstract

Hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers, derived from animal or non-animal sources, vary in physical and chemical properties, with numerous clinical trials assessing their effectiveness. This study examined the effects of Neuramis Volume Lidocaine on experimental animals over five durations (2, 4, 9, 10, and 13 weeks) via subcutaneous injections of 0.1 ml. Results showed a significant reduction in red blood cells, hemoglobin, and platelets after two weeks, which normalized by weeks 10 and 13. White blood cells and neutrophils significantly increased at two weeks but stabilized thereafter, while lymphocyte levels showed no significant long-term changes. Monocytes significantly decreased at two weeks but normalized by weeks 9-13. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed skin changes, including collagen bundle alterations and surface perforations. By week 10, the skin showed well-defined collagen structures and dense papillae, while earlier weeks exhibited more pronounced damage. These findings highlight HA fillers’ potential short-term physiological and histological impacts, which diminished over time. Highlights: Hyaluronic acid fillers vary in sources, properties, and clinical effectiveness. Blood parameters altered early; histological changes observed, diminishing over time. Fillers cause temporary physiological and histological issues, improving with duration. Keywords: Hyaluronic acid, Histological study, Physiological study, Laboratory rats
