Abstract

General Background: Rapid developments in science and technology require continuous innovation in Indonesia’s education system, including the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes flexible learning and competency-based assessment. Specific Background: In elementary education, multiple-choice tests in Indonesian language subjects play a crucial role in evaluating students’ comprehension, communication skills, and language structure mastery. Knowledge Gap: However, the quality of test items often varies, and systematic qualitative analysis of item characteristics aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum remains limited. Aims: This study aims to analyze the characteristics and quality of Indonesian language multiple-choice items for fifth-grade elementary students within the Merdeka Curriculum framework. Results: Using a qualitative phenomenological approach through questionnaires and teacher interviews, the findings indicate that most items generally function adequately but require minor revisions to improve validity, reliability, difficulty balance, discrimination power, and distractor performance, while clearer language and alignment with learning objectives are essential. Novelty: The study provides a comprehensive qualitative examination integrating cognitive level analysis, construction, language clarity, and alignment with the Pancasila Student Profile within a real school context. Implications: The results suggest that careful item construction and systematic analysis can produce more representative assessment instruments that measure students’ competencies holistically and support curriculum goals. Highlights: Most questions were acceptable but needed refinement to meet measurement standards. Language clarity and alignment with learning objectives were critical issues identified. Cognitive level distribution indicated the need for more higher-order thinking tasks. Abstract

General Background Food safety governance is essential to protect public health, particularly in widely consumed traditional foods produced by small and medium enterprises. Specific Background The cracker industry in Sidoarjo Regency represents a major local economic sector dominated by micro, small, and medium producers whose production practices vary in relation to regulatory requirements. Knowledge Gap Previous studies have largely examined hygiene or general manufacturing practices, with limited empirical analysis focusing specifically on producer compliance with food safety standards within a regional industrial cluster. Aims This study investigates the level of compliance among cracker producers in Sidoarjo with national food safety regulations and identifies key barriers faced by small and medium enterprises. Results Survey findings from 20 producers reveal high regulatory awareness (95%), substantial certification ownership (80%), but inconsistent application of safe raw materials (60%), alongside challenges including production costs, limited access to compliant inputs, and insufficient training and supervision. Novelty The research provides localized empirical evidence linking regulatory awareness, certification status, production practices, and operational constraints within a specific traditional food sector. Implications Strengthening enforcement mechanisms, expanding producer education, and providing technical and financial assistance are necessary to ensure safer food production and stronger consumer protection within small-scale food industries. Highlights: Regulatory awareness among producers is widespread, yet operational practices remain uneven. Certification ownership does not guarantee consistent use of safe ingredients. Financial constraints and limited training hinder adherence to required standards. Keywords:Food Safety; Producer Compliance; Small and Medium Enterprises; Cracker Industry; Consumer Protection

Abstract

General Background: The logistics industry operates in a highly competitive environment, where maintaining customer loyalty is essential for sustainable growth. Specific Background: In Indonesia, particularly Batam, logistics companies face challenges in retaining clients amid increasing service alternatives. Knowledge Gap: While prior research has addressed customer loyalty in various service sectors, limited studies have examined the combined role of social, structural, and financial bonds in shaping loyalty within logistics services. Aims: This study investigates the influence of social bond, structural bond, and financial bond on customer loyalty at PT Threelog Kencana Mandiri. Results: Using a quantitative causal design with 56 respondents and analyzing data through PLS-SEM, findings reveal that all three variables positively and significantly affect customer loyalty, with social bond being the most dominant factor. Collectively, the three bonds explain 77% of the variation in customer loyalty, indicating a strong category. Novelty: The study highlights that beyond financial incentives, loyalty in logistics is largely driven by relational and systemic bonds. Implications: These results suggest that logistics firms should strengthen social interactions and service structures alongside financial offerings to build sustainable customer loyalty. Highlights: Social bond is the strongest driver of loyalty. Structural and financial bonds also significantly influence customers. Combined, the three factors explain 77% of loyalty variation. Abstract

General Background: Traditional financial theories, such as the Efficient Market Hypothesis and Modern Portfolio Theory, assume rational, utility-maximizing investors. Specific Background: However, empirical evidence shows persistent cognitive and emotional biases—loss aversion, overconfidence, herding, mental accounting, and anchoring—that distort investment decisions and market outcomes. Knowledge Gap: Despite growing interest in behavioral finance, there remains insufficient synthesis that integrates these psychological factors with conventional financial frameworks, particularly across diverse contexts. Aims: This study conducts a comprehensive literature review to examine how behavioral finance theories influence individual and institutional investment decisions. Results: The findings reveal that systematic biases shape investor behavior by driving excessive risk-taking, irrational asset allocation, and susceptibility to market inefficiencies, thereby challenging rational-choice models. Novelty: Unlike prior works, this review offers a structured thematic synthesis of behavioral concepts, highlights empirical patterns across global studies, and underscores the interdisciplinary relevance of psychology in finance. Implications: The study calls for reform in financial education, the integration of behavioral diagnostics into fintech, and the development of policy tools informed by cognitive biases, ultimately contributing to more resilient investment strategies and adaptive financial systems.Highlights: Investor decisions are often shaped by psychological biases rather than rational models. Behavioral finance provides tools to anticipate and correct irrational market behaviors. Integrating psychology into financial education and policy enhances decision-making. Abstract

General Background: In volatile and resource-constrained markets, marketing foresight has emerged as a strategic capability that enables firms to anticipate change and align offerings with consumer expectations. Specific Background: While extensively studied in developed economies, the role of marketing foresight in shaping perceived product value within emerging markets remains underexplored. Knowledge Gap: Limited empirical evidence exists on how the specific dimensions of marketing foresight—novelty, executability, credibility, market fitness, and commercial feasibility—affect customers’ value perception in Iraqi start-ups. Aims: This study investigates the impact of foresight dimensions on perceived product value, identifying which dimensions exert the greatest influence. Results: Using survey data from 125 employees in consumer-based start-ups in Baghdad and employing regression analysis, findings reveal that credibility and market fitness significantly enhance perceived product value, while novelty and executability show weaker effects, and commercial feasibility has only marginal influence. Novelty: By empirically disentangling the relative contributions of foresight dimensions in an unstable emerging-market context, this study challenges the assumption that novelty is the primary driver of value creation. Implications: The results highlight that in environments marked by uncertainty, trust and market alignment outweigh radical innovation, offering valuable insights for start-ups and policymakers to prioritize credibility, customer-centric alignment, and incremental innovation for sustainable competitiveness. Highlights: Credibility and market fitness are the strongest predictors of product value. Novelty and executability have weaker, non-significant effects. Consumers in volatile markets prioritize trust and alignment over radical innovation. Keywords: Marketing Foresight, Perceived Value, Credibility, Market Fitness, Start-up

Abstract

General Background: Inheritance remains one of the most sensitive issues in Islamic family law, as it intertwines material distribution with justice, kinship, and social harmony. Specific Background: The Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) in Indonesia explicitly prohibits inheritance across religions, creating legal rigidity when confronted with plural family realities shaped by interfaith marriages and conversions. Knowledge Gap: While classical jurisprudence closes the door to interfaith inheritance, Indonesian legal pluralism and social justice demands reveal tensions between strict fiqh norms and societal needs, with limited scholarly synthesis on the role of mandatory wills as a legal compromise. Aims: This study aims to analyze the legal construction of inheritance for heirs of different religions under the KHI and evaluate the jurisprudential role of mandatory wills as a middle path in Indonesian courts. Results: Findings show that although the KHI normatively restricts inheritance to Muslims, jurisprudence recognizes mandatory wills as a mechanism to grant non-Muslim heirs a share, aligning with constitutional principles of justice and reducing family conflict. Novelty: This research highlights mandatory wills as a dynamic legal innovation that bridges classical fiqh with contemporary demands of pluralism and human rights. Implications: Reforming inheritance law to formally integrate mandatory wills will strengthen legal certainty, prevent discrimination, and promote social harmony within Indonesia’s diverse society.Highlight : KHI prohibits interfaith inheritance but raises justice issues. Obligatory wills act as a middle ground in court practices. Reform of inheritance law is needed to be more inclusive and responsive.
