Abstract

Background: Biochemical indicators and endocrine factors, particularly thyroid hormones and sex hormones, are closely related to bone metabolism and skeletal regulation in women. Knowledge Gap: Although several biomarkers are known to participate in bone metabolism, the combined profile of biochemical and hormonal parameters associated with osteoporosis in women remains insufficiently documented in certain regional populations. Aims: This study investigated selected biochemical and hormonal biomarkers in women diagnosed with osteoporosis in Al-Diwaniyah Governorate. Results: A total of 76 women aged 25–45 years participated in the study and were divided into an osteoporosis group (46 patients) and a healthy control group (30 individuals). Statistical analysis showed significant reductions in body mass index, serum calcium, and vitamin D levels in osteoporotic women compared with controls. In contrast, thyroid-related hormones, including thyroid-stimulating hormone and thyroxine, were significantly elevated in the patient group. Additionally, estrogen and follicle-stimulating hormone concentrations were significantly lower in women with osteoporosis. Novelty: The study provides an integrated evaluation of biochemical and endocrine biomarkers related to bone metabolism among women within the studied population. Implications: These findings highlight the importance of hormonal and biochemical assessment in understanding metabolic alterations associated with osteoporosis and may support clinical laboratory monitoring strategies for women at risk of bone metabolism disorders. Abstract

General Background Project management literature recognizes project sponsors as key stakeholders responsible for strategic guidance and executive support throughout the project lifecycle. Specific Background During periods of crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic and regional political instability, many telecommunications projects experienced severe delays and declining stakeholder confidence. Knowledge Gap Although prior studies emphasize the strategic importance of project sponsors, limited research explains how sponsor involvement contributes to recovering delayed internal projects during crisis conditions. Aims This study examines the role of project sponsorship in managing the recovery of a delayed internal project at Korek Telecom. Results The findings show that active sponsor engagement strengthened stakeholder coordination, improved communication channels, and restored organizational trust during the recovery process. The sponsor also assumed operational leadership responsibilities by guiding process redesign, managing risks, and aligning team roles through structured governance tools such as the revised business case, work breakdown structure, RACI matrix, compressed project schedule, and risk register. Novelty The study highlights a dual sponsorship model in which the project sponsor functions not only as a strategic authority but also as an operational leader during project recovery. Implications These findings provide practical insights for telecommunications organizations and other industries by demonstrating how sponsor-led governance mechanisms support structured decision-making and coordinated recovery strategies in delayed projects. Abstract

General Background: Transparency has become a central principle in modern information institutions, particularly university libraries that aim to provide equitable access to knowledge and digital resources. Specific Background: In the context of digital transformation, libraries are increasingly expected to implement transparent policies and procedures to ensure that users can access information services fairly and efficiently. Knowledge Gap: Despite growing attention to transparency and digital inclusion in library science, limited empirical studies have examined how transparency practices relate to digital justice within university library environments. Aims: This study investigates the relationship between transparency practices and the achievement of digital justice in the Central Library of the University of Karbala. Results: Using a survey method with 183 beneficiaries and statistical analysis including structural equation modeling, the findings demonstrate a significant relationship between transparency practices and digital justice, with transparency explaining approximately 45% of the variance in digital justice outcomes. Dimensions such as information accessibility, accountability, and community participation show notable associations with equitable digital service provision. Novelty: The study integrates the concepts of organizational transparency and digital justice within a single empirical framework in the context of an academic library. Implications: The findings provide evidence that transparent governance, accessible information channels, and participatory practices can support equitable digital access and improve users’ experiences with library services in higher education institutions. Abstract

General Background The rapid expansion of digital technologies in education, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic, has increased the need for systematic evaluation of technology integration in school environments. Specific Background In science education, digital media such as multimedia presentations, simulations, and online learning platforms are increasingly recognized as important instructional resources aligned with international e-learning standards. Knowledge Gap Despite this development, limited empirical evidence exists regarding the actual level of digital media incorporation in intermediate-level science classrooms within specific regional educational contexts. Aims This study examines the level of digital media integration in science teaching in intermediate schools in Diyala Governorate, Iraq, using internationally recognized e-learning standards as an analytical framework. Results Using a descriptive-analytical survey design and a structured questionnaire administered to science teachers, the findings indicate a moderate-to-low level of digital media usage, with teachers primarily relying on basic tools such as presentation slides and instructional videos. Advanced digital applications, including simulations and interactive technologies, are less frequently used. Teachers also reported significant barriers, including unstable internet connectivity, electricity interruptions, limited institutional support, and insufficient professional development opportunities. Novelty The study provides an empirical assessment of digital media practices in science classrooms through the lens of global e-learning competency frameworks. Implications The findings highlight the need for improved digital infrastructure, institutional policy alignment, and sustained professional training programs to support the systematic adoption of digital learning practices in science education. Abstract

General Background: Communication plays a central role in shaping organizational relationships and cultural interactions within tourism institutions. In service-based sectors such as tourism, communication practices not only transmit information but also construct shared meanings that influence organizational commitment and employee behavior. Specific Background: Tourism organizations often face challenges such as high employee turnover and unstable workforce commitment, which are closely associated with the level of organizational loyalty among employees. Knowledge Gap: Despite the importance of communication processes, many tourism organizations still rely on traditional administrative approaches while paying limited attention to the anthropological dimensions of communication that shape social interaction and organizational culture. Aims: This study examines the role of communication anthropology in explaining organizational loyalty within tourism companies operating in Baghdad. Results: Based on a descriptive analytical approach and a field survey of 95 respondents, the findings indicate that communication anthropology dimensions, including cultural structure of meaning, interactive communicative acts, and reproduction of meaning, are statistically associated with higher levels of organizational loyalty among employees. Novelty: The study introduces communication anthropology as an analytical framework for understanding loyalty within tourism organizations by emphasizing cultural symbols, interaction patterns, and meaning construction. Implications: The findings suggest that tourism administrations should integrate communication-based cultural practices and strengthen semi-formal organizational interaction to support stronger employee commitment and organizational stability. Abstract

General Background: Air pollution has become a critical global issue affecting environmental sustainability and public health, creating a strong demand for accurate air quality prediction systems. Specific Background: Traditional statistical models and conventional machine learning techniques often struggle to capture the nonlinear and multivariate characteristics of environmental data, particularly when dealing with complex temporal dependencies. Knowledge Gap: Many existing forecasting approaches focus primarily on either short-term sequential learning or long-range temporal modeling, which limits their ability to represent both bidirectional temporal patterns and long-term dependencies in multivariate air quality datasets. Aims: This study proposes a hybrid deep learning framework integrating Transformer, Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM), and an Attention mechanism for accurate multivariate air quality prediction. Results: Experiments conducted on the UCI Air Quality dataset demonstrate that the proposed model achieves superior predictive performance with RMSE of 0.0799, MAE of 0.0589, and R² of 0.9621, outperforming baseline models such as standalone Transformer and BiLSTM architectures. Novelty: The proposed framework combines global temporal dependency modeling from Transformer encoders with bidirectional sequence learning from BiLSTM and adaptive temporal weighting through the attention mechanism. Implications: The framework provides a reliable computational approach for environmental monitoring systems, supporting intelligent air quality forecasting, early warning mechanisms, and data-driven environmental decision-making. Highlights Hybrid architecture captures both long-range temporal dependencies and bidirectional sequence relationships in environmental data. Multivariate forecasting shows strong predictive consistency across several pollutants and meteorological variables. Abstract

General Background: The digital revolution has transformed organizational work environments and encouraged the adoption of digital approaches in management systems, including quality management practices. Specific Background: In tourism organizations, digital quality management represents an administrative approach that integrates digital technologies to manage services and operational processes while supporting organizational performance and employee commitment. Knowledge Gap: Despite the growing relevance of digital management practices, many institutions within the Iraqi tourism sector continue to rely on traditional administrative frameworks, which contribute to routine bureaucratic procedures and may weaken organizational loyalty among employees. Aims: This study aims to examine the relationship between digital quality management and organizational loyalty within the Iraqi Tourism Authority. Results: Using a descriptive analytical approach and questionnaire data collected from 100 managers across different administrative levels, the results indicate a statistically significant positive relationship between digital quality management and organizational loyalty. Structural Equation Modeling revealed a standardized path coefficient of 0.71, showing that digital quality management explains approximately 51% of the variation in organizational loyalty. Among its dimensions, data security recorded the highest mean score, while continuous loyalty ranked highest among loyalty dimensions. Novelty: The study provides empirical evidence on the relationship between digital quality management dimensions user experience, data security, responsiveness, and integration and innovation and organizational loyalty within a public tourism authority context. Implications: The findings highlight the need for tourism institutions to adopt modern digital quality management practices and foster an organizational culture that supports loyalty, innovation, and improved perception of the tourism authority’s role in economic and social development. General Background The tourism sector often faces instability caused by political conditions, security challenges, and fluctuating international perceptions, making organizational resilience and continuity strategies essential for sustainable tourism governance. Specific Background In Iraq, the tourism industry has experienced prolonged structural and reputational challenges that require coordinated communication strategies and institutional preparedness, particularly within the Iraqi Tourism Authority responsible for tourism development and public engagement. Knowledge Gap Despite the recognized strategic value of communication management, limited empirical research has examined how tourism public relations practices support business continuity management in public tourism institutions operating in crisis-prone environments. Aims This study investigates the role of tourism public relations mechanisms in supporting business continuity management within the Iraqi Tourism Authority through an exploratory analysis of employees’ perspectives. Results Using an analytical survey approach with structured questionnaires distributed to employees of the Authority, the findings indicate that organized public relations activities contribute to strengthening communication with target audiences, improving the national tourism image, and supporting institutional preparedness in maintaining tourism operations during challenging conditions. Novelty The study offers empirical evidence from a governmental tourism body in Iraq, highlighting the strategic integration of tourism communication practices with continuity management within a post-crisis tourism environment. Abstract

General Background: Marriage harmony requires effective interpersonal communication, particularly amid increasing household conflicts in urban communities. Specific Background: The Religious Affairs Office (KUA) in Biringkanaya Makassar provides marriage consultation services where registrars (penghulu) act as mediators through structured communication. Knowledge Gap: Studies have rarely examined the specific interpersonal communication strategies of penghulu in practical consultation contexts. Aims: This study analyzes communication stages, forms, supporting factors, and obstacles in marriage consultation. Results: Findings show a staged process consisting of building trust, exploring problems, clarifying and reflecting issues, and facilitating solutions and commitments. Communication forms include persuasive verbal, empathetic nonverbal, and religious symbolic communication. Supporting factors involve registrar credibility, institutional legitimacy, and alignment with religious values, while obstacles include emotional instability, cultural and educational differences, and limited time. Novelty: The integration of empathetic communication with religious values emerges as a key strategy to foster openness and resolve domestic conflicts. Abstract

General Background: Tourism companies increasingly prioritize service quality to remain competitive in a rapidly changing tourism environment. Specific Background: Behavioral integration within management teams, reflected in information exchange, cooperative behavior, and participation in decision making, is considered an important organizational process that supports coordinated managerial work. Knowledge Gap: However, limited empirical evidence exists regarding the relationship between behavioral integration and tourism service quality within Iraqi tourism companies. Aims: This study examines the relationship between behavioral integration of management teams and the quality of tourism services in Iraqi tourism companies operating in Baghdad. Results: Data were collected from 204 management team members through a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS and AMOS. The findings indicate a statistically significant correlation between behavioral integration and tourism service quality (0.589). The dimensions of information exchange (0.472), cooperative behavior (0.410), and participation in decision making (0.461) also show significant relationships with service quality. Regression analysis confirms that behavioral integration contributes to tourism service quality with an effect coefficient of 0.686, while cooperative behavior shows the highest contribution among the dimensions. Novelty: The study provides empirical evidence linking managerial behavioral integration with tourism service quality in Iraqi tourism companies using quantitative analysis. Implications: These findings highlight the importance of strengthening cooperation, information sharing, and participatory decision processes within management teams to support the development of tourism service quality.
