Abstract

Prayer is part of a Christian’s way of life but overly structured routines can lose personal meaning, especially for pupils with limited ability to reflect on God’s presence. This study aims to explore the perceptions and experiences of Grade 6 students on the Awareness prayer as an alternative prayer routine of finding God in all things aside from routinary prayers. The process of exploration follows the descriptive research design using quantitative and qualitative data from a sample of Grade 6 students. Results show gratitude as the dominant perception, with students practicing breathing and focused thoughts. However, many struggled to pause and imagine God’s presence. Recommendations include enhancing mental and emotional engagement through level-appropriate strategies and teacher training

Abstract

This study examines Bible study participation in the digital era, focusing on the main factors that encourage and hinder engagement. Consistent involvement in Bible study is vital for spiritual growth, yet participation often faces challenges. Using a systematic literature review of books and scholarly journals, this research synthesizes findings on internal and external influences. Internal drivers include personal desire to engage with Scripture, spiritual discipline, and intrinsic motivation. External supports such as conducive environments, study tools, and engaging pedagogy also play a role. Conversely, barriers such as time constraints, busy schedules, diminished motivation, and digital distractions impede sustained engagement. The findings highlight the need for contextually relevant and flexible Bible study programs. In the digital era, strategies must balance technological innovation with spiritual discipline to sustain meaningful participation.

Abstract

This study examines the Kosu Dance as a cultural expression of the Amarasi tribe in Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, from an ethnoteological perspective. The Kosu Dance is a traditional dance performed in the context of wedding ceremonies, where community members both family and invited guests voluntarily and with sincere hearts place money on the heads of the bride and groom as a form of blessing, support, and prayer for the couple embarking on a new family life. This study aims to identify the theological meanings embedded in this voluntary giving practice, as well as to reconstruct the meanings of gratitude and generosity manifested in the Kosu Dance within the framework of Multicultural Christian Religious Education (PAK).

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed education, including Christian Religious Education (CRE). However, technology integration in CRE often remains technical and lacks a clear theological foundation for faith formation. This study aims to analyze the integration of digital technology in CRE and develop a conceptual framework relevant to learning in the digital age. This study employs a qualitative approach using a critical literature review method through analysis and synthesis of relevant scholarly sources. The findings show that digital technology can enhance interactivity, accessibility, and creativity in learning, yet it also presents challenges such as distraction and superficial learning. As its main contribution, this study proposes a Faith-Centered Digital Learning Framework integrating digital tools, pedagogical design, and spiritual formation. The framework positions faith as the center of learning, ensuring technology supports spiritual transformation rather than merely information delivery.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of gamification in Christian Religious Education (CRE) and to propose a learning model that preserves spiritual values. The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged the adoption of more interactive learning approaches, including gamification. However, in the context of CRE, gamification presents several challenges, such as shallow spiritual reflection, overreliance on extrinsic motivation, and potential digital distractions. Furthermore, limited studies have explicitly integrated gamification with theological reflection in Christian education. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, drawing from national and international journals, books, and relevant academic publications. Data were analyzed through data reduction, thematic categorization, and concept synthesis. The findings indicate that gamification has significant potential to enhance student motivation and engagement.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of entrepreneurship in Christian education as a response to globalization, digital transformation, and changing socio-economic demands. While previous studies have often treated entrepreneurship as a secular approach and Christian education as a theological enterprise, this study seeks to bridge this gap through an integrative framework relevant to the Indonesian context. Using a qualitative approach through a critical integrative literature review, this study analyzes scholarly literature through thematic analysis to identify patterns of entrepreneurial practices in Christian education and synthesize a conceptual framework. The findings reveal five major entrepreneurial practices in Christian education: faith-based curriculum innovation, visionary leadership, diversified funding strategies, community empowerment, and digital technology integration. This study contributes to the discourse on faith-based edupreneurship by offering an integrative model that connects theological values, educational innovation, and social mission.

Abstract

The curriculum in Christian Religious Education (PAK) continues to develop along with the dynamics of the times, technological advancements, and changes in the characteristics of students. This article aims to examine in depth the concept of contemporary curriculum in PAK, including its main characteristics, theological foundations, and relevance in shaping the faith and character of students in the modern era. This research uses a qualitative approach through literature study by analyzing various theological, pedagogical, and educational policy sources of the latest education. The results of the study show that the contemporary curriculum of PAK has the main characteristics of a student-centered approach, contextual, integrative between faith and life, and utilizing technology as a learning medium. In addition, this curriculum emphasizes transformational aspects, namely changes in attitudes, values, and behaviors that reflect Christian teachings in daily life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the importance of digital literacy for Christian educators in integrating technological competencies with theological values in Christian Religious Education (CRE) learning. The rapid development of digital technology requires educators not only to master technical skills but also to utilize technology ethically, reflectively, and contextually in accordance with Christian faith principles. The research employs a qualitative approach using literature review and conceptual analysis of various theoretical sources and educational practices. The findings indicate that digital literacy for Christian educators encompasses pedagogical, critical, and spiritual competencies in using technology as a meaningful learning tool. The integration of theological values in technology use contributes to shaping students who are not only digitally competent but also possess strong moral and spiritual integrity.

Abstract

This study aims to identify Christian values-based entrepreneurship opportunities in Christian Religious Education (PAK) in the digital age. The approach used is qualitative with a conceptual paper method that emphasizes analysis, synthesis, and reflection on the sources of Christian theology, education, and modern entrepreneurship. The results of the study show that entrepreneurial opportunities in PAK can be developed through digital innovation, church-based community strengthening, social mission-based education, and the integration of faith values in the learning process. Entrepreneurship in this perspective is not only understood as an economic activity, but also as an expression of faith and a vocation within the framework of the missio Dei. This study resulted in a conceptual model of Faith–Context–Innovation (FCI) that integrates faith, context analysis, and innovation as a whole in developing Christian entrepreneurship in education.

Abstract

This study aims to construct a theological understanding of hospitality within the unity of the Old and New Testaments and to formulate a contextual model of church practice for Indonesia. The background of this study is the decline of hospitality in the modern church, which tends to shift from deep relationships to formal and functional practices. The method used is descriptive-analytical qualitative research employing biblical theology, contextual hermeneutics, and socio-historical approaches. The texts analyzed include Genesis 18 and Leviticus 19:33–34 (Old Testament), as well as Acts 16:13–40, Romans 12:13, and Hebrews 13:2 (New Testament). The research findings indicate that in the Old Testament, hospitality is a response of faith to God and an expression of covenantal relationship, whereas in the New Testament, hospitality evolves into a means of participation in God’s mission through personal and community-based relationships centered on the home.
