Abstract

This article examines the role of teachers in improving students' digital literacy in the era of globalization using the methodSystematic Literature Review(SLR) and PRISMA. Teachers play a central role as facilitators, mentors, and role models in fostering students' digital literacy, which includes the ability to use technology positively, evaluate information, communicate online, and understand the ethics and social implications of technology. The importance of this teacher role is also emphasized in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, the development of digital literacy faces various challenges, such as limited access to technology, a lack of teacher and student competency in utilizing digital media, a curriculum that does not fully support it, and digital security threats such ascyberbullyingStrategies to address these challenges include providing engaging digital learning resources, enhancing teacher training in technology proficiency, and collaborating with schools, parents, and the community. Overall, digital literacy is an essential competency for students in the era of globalization. Therefore, teachers are required to continuously adapt and develop their competencies to prepare students to become digitally literate, critical thinkers, and responsible individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the root causes of the increase in cases of mental disorders in Generation Z, a demographic group born between 1997 and 2012, and known to be very familiar with the digital world. Mental disorders are defined as health conditions that affect a person's thoughts, feelings, or responses, including anxiety, depression, and stress that can cause physical symptoms. Determinants of mental health include socioeconomic, biological, and environmental aspects. Compared to previous generations, Gen Z shows higher levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. This study uses a literature review method, analyzing and summarizing previous studies from trusted academic databases such as Google Scholar, Sinta, and Garuda with keywords such as "causes of mental disorders", "mental disorders of Gen Z", and "generation Z". The results of the analysis indicate that the increase in mental disorders in Gen Z is caused by several main factors, namely intensive digital media use and internet addiction, family environment and parenting styles, unhealthy living environments, and negative peer influence. In addition, socioeconomic status also contributes to mental vulnerability. Gen Z's increased awareness and openness in discussing mental health issues has also made these cases more visible and documented. The 2018 RISKESDAS data shows that the prevalence of mental health disorders in adolescents aged 15 and above reached 6.1%, equivalent to 11 million people in Indonesia. Globally, one in seven children aged 10 to 19 experiences a mental disorder, yet most do not receive adequate treatment. Therefore, a thorough understanding of these factors is crucial for developing effective prevention and treatment strategies.

Abstract

Islamic economic education has a strategic role in shaping the social and spiritual character of children from an early age, especially through the introduction of the value of zakat, infaq and sadaqah. However, the learning methods in many TPQs are still rote and have not touched on the applicative aspects. This service activity aims to instill Islamic economic values and generous characters to TPQ children in Tawang Hamlet through the method of Islamic stories and interactive education. This activity uses an educational-participatory approach through storytelling activities, discussions, and direct sharing practices. The pre-test and post-test results showed an increase in children's understanding and generous attitudes by an average of 41.5%, with the highest increase in the aspect of sharing practices by 46.2%. This finding shows that a fun contextual approach can improve Islamic economic literacy while shaping positive social behavior in early childhood. This program can be used as an alternative learning model that is relevant to the TPQ curriculum and replicated in other areas to form a religious, caring and civilized generation.

Abstract

Early vocabulary acquisition is an important foundation for children's future literacy development and academic achievement. Simultaneously, introducing healthy lifestyle practices, such as handwashing, plays a crucial role in shaping preventive behaviors from an early age. This study examines the effectiveness of teaching health-themed English vocabulary through handwashing activities to early childhood children at Radhatul Makmur Kindergarten in Pringsewu, Indonesia. Using a narrative review approach and thematic synthesis methods, the study analyzed recent literature from leading academic databases, including Scopus, ERIC, and ScienceDirect. The results indicate that physical activity-based approaches, specifically Total Physical Response (TPR) and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), significantly strengthen vocabulary acquisition and retention and foster children's multisensory engagement. The integration of daily hygiene activities into language learning not only supports linguistic development but also contributes to character building and health awareness in children. These findings highlight the importance of contextual, experiential, interdisciplinary teaching strategies in early childhood education. The study recommends the development of a bilingual thematic curriculum that utilizes daily routines as a natural and meaningful means of language acquisition.

Abstract

Improving the quality of Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) learning in Islamic schools requires the implementation of learning methods that can encourage active student involvement. This study aims to compare student learning outcomes between the Index Card Match (ICM) and Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) methods in Fiqh learning at MTs As'adiyah Cabang No. 60 Lattimu, Wajo Regency, Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, this study involved two classes, each of which was given a different learning method. The results showed significant differences in student learning outcomes between the two methods. The ICM method increased individual active participation through question-and-answer card matching activities, while the STAD method encouraged collaborative learning through heterogeneous group discussions and individual quizzes. Both methods were effective in improving Fiqh learning outcomes, but the ICM method showed a higher increase in learning outcomes. These findings indicate that an interactive and student-centered learning approach is more effective in strengthening understanding of Fiqh material. This study emphasizes the importance for educators to adopt innovative and varied learning strategies to optimize student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Teacher well-being is an essential factor in ensuring the quality of basic education. However, changes in education policy and the complexity of professional demands often lack adequate systemic support for teachers. This research aims to address the need for a more comprehensive understanding of teacher well-being, particularly in relation to professional development. The study focuses on four key aspects: the appropriateness of training programs, performance rewards, transparency in career development, and institutional support. This study adopted a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through a survey of 300 elementary school teachers, in-depth interviews with teachers, principals, and education officials, as well as documentation and administrative observations in the Talang Padang District. Thematic analysis was applied to identify patterns in teachers' perceptions of their well-being, which were then validated through triangulation between various data collection techniques and participants. The research findings revealed that most teachers considered the training programs provided to be less suited to classroom needs, career development mechanisms were less transparent, and administrative support from the government was very limited. The lack of teacher involvement in the policy planning and evaluation process also exacerbated the situation. The expected output of this study is the formation of a conceptual and empirical basis that supports the formulation of a more participatory teacher professional development policy, based on real needs, and capable of improving teacher welfare comprehensively, both economically and professionally.
