Abstract

In response to growing environmental concerns and increasing awareness of sustainable consumption, organic food has emerged as a promising alternative to conventional products. This study investigates the influence of health consciousness and price perception on the purchase intention of organic food, with age as a moderating variable. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this research employs a quantitative, causal-associative approach using a sample of 122 organic food consumers in Badung Regency, Bali—an area characterized by high purchasing power and demographic diversity. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The findings reveal that both health consciousness and price perception have a positive and significant effect on consumers’ purchase intention toward organic food. However, age does not moderate the relationship between health consciousness and purchase intention, nor does it moderate the effect of price perception on purchase intention. These results suggest that regardless of age, consumers are increasingly motivated to choose organic food when they perceive it as beneficial to their health and reasonably priced. The study highlights the potential for expanding the organic food market beyond demographic boundaries and provides insights for marketers and policymakers to design inclusive strategies that promote healthy and sustainable food choices.

Abstract

Auditor independence is an important factor in maintaining the quality, objectivity and credibility of audit results, so it is very important for public trust in financial statements. This study aims to examine the effect of audit rotation, auditor skills, and pressure from clients on the level of auditor independence. The study used an associative quantitative approach with primary data obtained through distributing questionnaires to 47 auditors who work at public accounting firms (KAP) in Bali Province, based on the IAPI Directory in 2024. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that audit rotation and auditor skills have a positive and significant effect on auditor independence, while client pressure has a negative and significant effect. This finding is in line with the Interpersonal Behavior Theory, Resource-Based Theory, and Challenge-Hindrance Stressor Framework, especially on Hindrance Stressor, which emphasizes the importance of individual factors and professional pressure in influencing auditor behavior. This research provides practical and theoretical contributions and serves as a reference for future studies in the field of auditing.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) constitute a major component of the economy, playing a vital role in supporting national economic development and significantly contributing to local economies. The trade sector, as one of the prominent MSME sectors, has experienced substantial growth and remains highly attractive to the public in South Denpasar District. This strong growth potential inevitably intensifies competition among MSME actors, necessitating greater creativity and innovation. This study aims to examine the effect of capital, business duration, and technology utilization on the income of MSME actors in the trade sector in South Denpasar, both simultaneously and partially. The study was conducted in South Denpasar District, with a population of 3,306 trade-sector MSME units and a sample of 97 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The types of data used include both qualitative and quantitative data. The analytical techniques applied are descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that all independent variables have a significant simultaneous effect on the dependent variable. Partially, capital, business duration, and technology utilization each have a positive and significant effect on the income of MSME actors in the trade sector in South Denpasar.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the urgency of economic law in providing protection for the poor, abandoned children, and other vulnerable groups as mandated by the constitution, particularly Article 34 of the 1945 Constitution. Through a literature study approach, this research examines various regulations, policies and social protection programmes that have been implemented in Indonesia. The results show that economic law plays an important role in ensuring access to justice, social protection and equal opportunities for vulnerable groups. However, the implementation of economic law protection still faces various obstacles, such as budget constraints, the complexity of legal procedures, low legal literacy, and structural discrimination. This research recommends strengthening regulations, increasing the capacity of implementing agencies, synergising between agencies, and empowering vulnerable groups so that economic legal protection can run effectively and fairly as mandated by the constitution.

Abstract

Female unemployment is a critical issue in the context of economic and social development in Bali Province, especially due to the significant role of women in the informal and tourism sectors. This study aims to analyze the effects of education, age, regional minimum wage, and inflation on female unemployment rates in the nine regencies/cities of Bali Province during the 2014–2023 period. The method used is panel data regression analysis, employing the Common Effect Model (CEM) selected based on Chow and Lagrange Multiplier test results. The findings show that, simultaneously, all four independent variables significantly influence female unemployment. Partially, education and age have a negative and significant effect, the regional minimum wage has a positive and significant effect, and inflation has a positive but not significant effect. These results indicate that increasing age and controlling inflation can reduce female unemployment, while wage policies must be carefully evaluated to avoid hindering female labor absorption. This research is expected to provide valuable input for local governments in formulating more inclusive and gender-responsive employment policies in Bali.

Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) refers to capital investment made by foreign entities in a host country through the establishment or acquisition of a company, with the intention of directly managing and controlling the business operations. The growth of FDI in a country can be influenced by various factors, one of which is infrastructure development. This study aims to analyze the influence of road, telecommunications, electricity, and clean water infrastructure on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Indonesia, both simultaneously and partially. The study was conducted in Indonesia over a 21-year observation period from 2003 to 2023. The dependent variable is foreign direct investment in Indonesia, while the independent variables include total road length, number of telephone connections, volume of distributed electricity, and volume of clean water supply. This study employs a literature review approach using secondary data and applies descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression techniques. The results indicate that, simultaneously, all four infrastructure variables significantly affect FDI in Indonesia. However, partially, only the volume of clean water shows a statistically significant influence on FDI. The variables of road length, telephone connections, and electricity distribution do not exhibit significant effects. These findings suggest that basic infrastructure such as clean water plays a crucial role in attracting foreign investment, while traditional infrastructure indicators need to be re-evaluated in the digital era. Therefore, enhancing the quality and accessibility of infrastructure particularly basic infrastructure that supports industrial needs constitutes an essential strategy for promoting FDI growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

Investment growth in Indonesia's capital market has shown a significant increase, as reflected in the rising number of investors registered with PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI), especially among the youth under 30 years of age. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media, risk perception, and herding behavior on student investment decisions. The subjects of this study were undergraduate students of the Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, class of 2021. The sample was determined using purposive sampling, resulting in 180 respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The findings reveal that social media, risk perception, and herding behavior all have a positive influence on students' investment decisions. These findings offer empirical support for behavioral finance theory and the theory of planned behavior in understanding factors that influence student investment behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of capital, raw materials, and labor on the production levels of virgin coconut oil (VCO) entrepreneurs in Karangasem Regency. This regency was chosen because it is one of the largest VCO production centers in Bali Province; however, its productivity level has not yet reached its optimal potential. This research adopts a quantitative approach with an associative causal design using a semi-log regression analysis method to examine the relationship between the independent variables (capital, raw materials, and labor) and the dependent variable (production level). Data were collected from 31 VCO entrepreneurs using a census technique, questionnaires, interviews, and secondary data from the local agriculture office. The results show that both capital and raw materials have a significant effect on the production levels of VCO entrepreneurs in Karangasem Regency. Furthermore, capital and raw materials were found to have a positive and significant partial effect, while labor showed a positive but not statistically significant partial effect on production levels.

Abstract

Stocks are the most popular investment instruments in the capital market. Investors use various types of information in their investment activities to gain maximum profit. One such piece of information is the bid-ask spread. Trading activities on the Indonesia Stock Exchange are inseparable from the movement of the distance between the bid and ask (offer), yet in general, investors tend to pay little attention to the stock bid-ask spread. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of stock returns, stock trading volume, and stock price volatility on the bid-ask spread. This research was conducted on companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018–2022 period by accessing data through the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This is a quantitative study with a sample of 274 companies using probability sampling with the proportionated stratified random sampling technique. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression. The results of this study show that stock returns have a significant positive effect on the bid-ask spread, stock trading volume has a significant positive effect on the bid-ask spread, and stock price volatility also has a significant positive effect on the bid-ask spread in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2018–2022 period. This study can serve as a benchmark for determining which company stocks to invest in by analyzing variables supported by signaling theory and capital market theory, in which a liquid or efficient capital market encourages investors to participate in investment activities.
