Abstract

This literature review explores the intersection of Montessori pedagogy, which emphasizes sensorial learning, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), which highlights scientific inquiry in early childhood education. Montessori education prioritizes sensorial exploration, hands-on activities, observation, structured experiences, and interdisciplinary learning, all of which nurture children’s natural curiosity. Similarly, STEAM education encourages experimentation, problem-solving, creativity, innovation, and critical thinking through integrated approaches. Both approaches share a commitment to experiential and inquiry-based learning, supporting holistic child development. In early childhood, STEAM is often introduced through activities grounded in children’s daily observations and experiences, an approach that resonates strongly with Montessori principles. However, much of the research on STEAM in early education has focused primarily on cognitive and technological dimensions, often overlooking classical educational philosophies. This review seeks to bridge that gap by highlighting how Montessori’s sensorial foundation can serve as an essential entry point for scientific inquiry in early learning. Drawing from literature published since 2020, along with books and relevant sources, this review identifies key principles and areas of convergence between Montessori and STEAM. Beyond theoretical contributions, it also provides practical implications for educators, suggesting that Montessori environments can strengthen STEAM-based learning while inspiring further empirical research.

Abstract

SDN Cibeureum, the role of Christian religion teachers as spiritual guides is very important in shaping students' character and spiritual development. In addition to acting as educators, these teachers also serve as mentors. They help students recognize themselves as God's creations and instill Christian values such as faith, love, forgiveness, and exemplary behavior. Through consistent spiritual guidance, teachers can provide moral and spiritual support to their students. This helps them face life's challenges and build a positive self-concept. Furthermore, this role includes encouraging and assisting students in developing intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually, so they can grow into responsible and moral individuals. In addition, Christian religion teachers collaborate with families and churches to enhance students' spirituality and character; the Holy Spirit leads them in their work.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of e-book learning media in improving students' learning outcomes in Business Communication subjects at SMK PGRI 1 Jombang. The research utilized a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. A total of 73 students participated, divided into two groups: the experimental group using e-books as a learning medium and the control group receiving traditional teaching methods. Data were collected through standardized multiple-choice tests, and independent sample t-tests were employed for data analysis. The results showed a significant difference in the learning outcomes between the two groups, with the experimental group achieving an average score of 88.03, compared to the control group's average of 73.89, with a p-value of less than 0.001. These findings indicate that e-book learning media has a positive impact on student engagement, motivation, and conceptual understanding in vocational education settings. The use of e-books as an interactive learning tool appears to enhance students' ability to grasp complex business communication concepts, providing them with a more engaging and dynamic learning experience. This study contributes to the development of digital-based pedagogies and offers empirical evidence supporting the integration of e-books and similar e-learning tools into vocational school curricula. Based on the findings, it is recommended that educational institutions, particularly vocational schools, consider adopting e-book media as a part of their teaching strategies to improve students' learning outcomes, as well as to foster greater digital literacy. The study highlights the importance of integrating modern technology into education to better align with the evolving digital landscape in teaching and learning practices.

Abstract

The Foreign Reporting Application (APOA) is an innovation in Indonesia's immigration system aimed at improving the effectiveness of monitoring the presence of foreign nationals. This study analyzes the effectiveness of the APOA implementation by highlighting its benefits, challenges, and impacts on the immigration surveillance system. The analysis shows that APOA contributes to increased efficiency in reporting, data transparency, and the accuracy of foreign nationals' monitoring in Indonesia. The application simplifies the reporting process by enabling users to report information online, reducing human errors, and accelerating the data verification process. However, the implementation of APOA still faces several challenges, such as limited internet access in some areas, users' lack of understanding of the application, and suboptimal technology infrastructure. Therefore, improvements are needed through enhanced digital infrastructure, user training, and more supportive regulations. With these efforts, APOA is expected to become a key solution in modernizing the immigration system, making it more transparent, efficient, and responsive to global mobility dynamics.

Abstract

This study aims to introduce and analyze the effectiveness of the Yog-Ger digital application as an aid in evaluating the performance of taekwondo athletes, specifically in the front kick (ap-chagi) technique. Although sports biomechanics plays a crucial role in optimizing movement for peak performance, the limited use of digital technology often poses a major obstacle. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involved one male athlete from the North Sumatra Taekwondo Provincial Training Camp as the sample. Kick motion data was analyzed using the Yog-Ger application to measure the angles and duration of each kick phase. The results indicate a disparity in timing between the initial phase (knee-up) and the final phase (landing). This disparity suggests a biomechanical inefficiency that can hinder performance and the transition to subsequent movements. The Yog-Ger application proved effective in providing prescriptive quantitative data, enabling coaches to design more specific training programs aimed at improving movement efficiency, speed, and kick power. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that leveraging digital technology like Yog-Ger is highly beneficial for the evaluation and technical development of taekwondo athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Civic Education (PKn) in grade III students of SDN 004 Samarinda Ilir through the application of the Index Card Match learning method. This method involves the activity of looking for pairs of cards that function to repeat the learning material that has been taught previously. This approach aims to improve understanding of the concepts taught and create an active and fun learning atmosphere. In its implementation, students work together to find suitable card pairs, which can improve interaction between students and activate the learning atmosphere. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in three cycles in grade III B SDN 004 Samarinda Ilir with 31 students as research subjects. The data collection techniques used include observation sheets, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The results of the study show that the application of the Index Card Match method can significantly improve student activities and learning outcomes. In the first cycle, student activity reached 72.58%, in the second cycle it increased to 84.47%, and in the third cycle it reached 90.12%. The average student score also increased from 61.45 in the pre-cycle to 90.32 in the third cycle, with learning completeness reaching 96.78%, which has met the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Index Card Match method is effective in improving students' PKn learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher strategies through teaching methods applied at SDN 004 Samarinda Ilir. The background of the study is based on the importance of the teacher's role in selecting and implementing appropriate teaching methods so that the learning process is more effective and in accordance with student characteristics. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation of five class teachers and the principal as supporting informants. The results of the study indicate that teachers use a combination of several methods, namely lectures, group discussions, questions and answers, and direct practice. The lecture method is more dominantly applied to conceptual subjects, while group discussions and direct practice are used in subjects that require active student participation, such as Indonesian, Mathematics, and Science. Supporting factors for this strategy include the support of the principal, the availability of simple media, and a conducive learning environment. The inhibiting factors are time constraints, variations in teacher abilities in managing the class, and low participation of some students. The discussion of the research results shows that teacher strategies at SDN 004 Samarinda Ilir have been directed towards active learning (student-centered learning), although there are still obstacles that make traditional methods more dominant. This study recommends improving teacher competency in classroom management and implementing cooperative learning models to ensure more equitable student engagement.

Abstract

The digitalization era has transformed the office administration landscape, demanding mastery of digital technology. However, evaluation of training programs at Vocational Training Centers still relies on simple indicators without structured instruments. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Kirkpatrick Level 2 in measuring learning achievement of participants in the Google Workspace-based digital office administration training program using Project Based Learning methods at UPTD BLK Semarang City. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study involving 16 training participants, 2 instructors, and 2 program managers through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation with data triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of competency unit-based evaluation according to SKKNI achieved an 80% pass rate with continuous monitoring during the 1-6 month post-training period. Five aspects of Kirkpatrick Level 2 demonstrated significant achievement, including an average knowledge improvement of 42 points with 75% of participants reaching minimum standards, a 78% skills success rate, 80% positive attitude change, 80% increase in digital confidence, and high enthusiasm (8-10/10). Internal factors affecting outcomes included heterogeneity in initial abilities with three adoption patterns (Enthusiastic adopters 35%, Gradual adapters 50%, Resistant learners 15%), diversity in learning styles, and strong internal motivation. External factors encompassed challenges such as unstable internet connections disrupting 40% of learning time, limited personal devices, and the complexity of learning paradigm shifts. Development recommendations include strengthening technological infrastructure, implementing personalized learning paths, adopting hybrid learning approaches, developing Industry 4.0-based curriculum, and establishing a structured peer coaching system to optimize the effectiveness of digital office administration training programs.

Abstract

Breaststroke is one of the most widely used swimming styles, requiring coordination of hand, leg, and breathing movements to produce effective and efficient movement in the water. This study aims to analyze the mechanics of breaststroke movements to understand how these movements can improve swimming performance. The research method was conducted through literature study and technical observation of breaststroke movements. The results show that proper coordination of hand and leg movements and correct breathing techniques are the keys to success in breaststroke swimming. Conclusions and suggestions are also provided for the development of optimal techniques in breaststroke swimming.

Abstract

Parenting for children with special needs (ABK) often poses significant emotional challenges for parents, so optimism is an important aspect in maintaining mental health and the sustainability of parenting. This study aims to analyze the influence of self-esteem and social support of teachers on the optimism of parents with disabilities, with self-efficacy as a mediating variable. The method used is quantitative with a causality approach, involving parents of crew members at SLB Swadaya Semarang. Data collection was carried out through a structured questionnaire, and data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results of the study show that self-esteem has a positive and significant influence on parental optimism through increased self-efficacy. In contrast, teachers' social support did not show a significant influence on optimism, either directly or through self-efficacy mediation. These findings indicate that strengthening self-esteem and self-efficacy in ABK parents is an important strategy in building an optimistic attitude in parenting. Meanwhile, the role of teachers remains relevant as a provider of moral support and a facilitator of positive relationships between schools and families. This study recommends psychosocial interventions that focus on increasing parental self-esteem and self-efficacy as an effort to strengthen emotional resilience in the care of children with special needs.
