Abstract

Women’s distribution across agricultural and non-agricultural employment reflects differences in human capital, household conditions, and access to productive resources. This study analyzes the individual and household factors associated with women’s employment sectors in Aceh Province, Indonesia. The analysis uses cross-sectional data from the March 2024 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas), covering 8,025 employed women aged 15 years and above. Binary logistic regression is used to estimate the likelihood of women being employed in the non-agricultural sector rather than agriculture. The results show that junior secondary, senior secondary, and tertiary education, never-married and divorced status, larger household size, and access to credit are positively associated with non-agricultural employment. In contrast, age and the number of children under five are negatively associated with employment outside agriculture. Primary education and widowed status are not statistically significant. Overall, women’s sectoral employment in Aceh is associated with a combination of human capital, demographic characteristics, household circumstances, and access to financial resources. The findings emphasize the importance of women’s education, skills development, and financial access in supporting broader participation in non-agricultural employment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Village Funds on economic growth with governance and digitalization as moderating variables in South Aceh Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach using panel data regression through the Random Effect Model (REM). The data used consisted of panel data from 260 villages during the 2019–2023 period. The results indicate that Village Funds have a positive and significant effect on economic growth in South Aceh Regency. This finding shows that increasing Village Fund allocations can stimulate community economic activities through infrastructure development and productive economic activities. Meanwhile, governance and digitalization show positive but insignificant relationships with economic growth. Furthermore, governance and digitalization as moderating variables have not been able to strengthen the influence of Village Funds on economic growth. The findings imply that the effectiveness of Village Fund utilization plays a more important role in promoting economic growth than governance quality and digitalization implementation. Therefore, village governments need to improve governance capacity, strengthen supervision mechanisms, and accelerate digital transformation to support sustainable rural economic development.

Abstract

Sexual violence remains a persistent structural problem in Indonesian society, and rural communities in particular suffer from low legal literacy and limited access to formal complaint mechanisms. The enactment of Law Number 12 of 2022 on the Crime of Sexual Violence (UU TPKS) marked a paradigm shift by placing prevention, victim protection, and community participation at the center of the national legal framework. Yet the effectiveness of this law depends on how far its norms are translated into practice at the village level, where legal education is often sporadic and complaint channels remain distant from ordinary citizens. This article examines the urgency of continuous legal education on the TPKS Act and explores the establishment of village-based community complaint centers as an institutional bridge between normative protection and practical accessibility. Employing normative juridical research with statutory and conceptual approaches, the study analyzes the TPKS Act, the Village Law, and their implementing regulations alongside recent socio-legal literature. The findings show that community complaint centers, when embedded in sustained legal education and linked to formal referral pathways such as UPTD PPA, can strengthen early detection, reporting, and victim assistance. The article recommends a collaborative model integrating village government, community-based service providers, and law enforcement to operationalize the participatory mandate of the TPKS Act.

Abstract

Household waste management remains one of the most persistent environmental problems in Indonesian villages, where limited legal literacy, weak institutional coordination, and the absence of accessible reporting channels worsen the uncontrolled accumulation of domestic waste. This article examines legal awareness training as a strategy for building environmentally conscious villages, commonly known as "Green Villages," with particular attention to strengthening the role of community complaint centers as instruments of participatory legal enforcement. Using a normative juridical method supported by statutory and conceptual approaches, this study analyzes Law Number 18 of 2008 on Waste Management, Law Number 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, Law Number 25 of 2009 on Public Service, and Law Number 6 of 2014 on Villages as the normative foundation for community-based waste governance. The findings show that legal awareness training strengthens community capacity to recognize violations, understand their rights, and channel environmental grievances through structured complaint mechanisms, narrowing the gap between formal regulation and grassroots implementation. The novelty of this study lies in repositioning community complaint centers not merely as administrative service points but as instruments of legal empowerment bridging regulatory compliance and social accountability at the village level. The article recommends institutionalizing complaint centers through village regulations to sustain participatory environmental governance and strengthen legal certainty for rural communities.

Abstract

Vaginal discharge is one of the most common reproductive health problems among women of reproductive age and may be influenced by the inappropriate use of feminine hygiene products. This educational program aimed to improve female Islamic boarding school students' knowledge regarding the effects of feminine hygiene product use on the occurrence of vaginal discharge and to promote healthier reproductive hygiene practices. The program was conducted at KH Sahlan Rosjidi Islamic Boarding School, Semarang, involving 66 women of reproductive age through a community-based participatory service approach. The intervention consisted of clinical education, vaginal discharge symptom screening, private counseling via WhatsApp, and an independent hygiene campaign using visual educational media. A preliminary study involving 10 participants revealed that 60% experienced pathological vaginal discharge, while 70% frequently used feminine hygiene products, with feminine cleansing soap being the most commonly used product (60%). The results demonstrated an improvement in participants' understanding of the differences between physiological and pathological vaginal discharge, the risk factors associated with the use of feminine hygiene products, and appropriate personal hygiene practices. The private counseling service also successfully reached participants who had previously been reluctant to seek consultation due to cultural taboos. In addition, the boarding school management committed to improving communal sanitation facilities and establishing student health ambassadors to ensure the sustainability of the program. This integrated educational model, combining health education, screening, counseling, and visual health promotion, proved effective in enhancing reproductive health literacy and has the potential to be replicated in other Islamic boarding schools with similar characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze economic growth during the implementation of Aceh Qanun No. 11 of 2018 concerning Islamic Financial Institutions by examining the roles of investment and poverty. The study employs a quantitative approach using panel data from 56 regencies and municipalities in Aceh and North Sumatra during the 2022–2024 period. Panel data regression is applied, with model selection based on the Common Effect Model (CEM), Fixed Effect Model (FEM), and Random Effect Model (REM), followed by the Hausman and Lagrange Multiplier (LM) tests. The results indicate that the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) is the most appropriate model. Estimation using cluster-robust standard errors shows that investment has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on economic growth, while poverty has a negative and statistically significant effect. These findings suggest that investment has not yet contributed significantly to regional economic growth during the study period, whereas poverty reduction remains an important factor in promoting economic growth. The study highlights the importance of improving investment quality and strengthening poverty alleviation policies to support sustainable regional economic development.
